So, what are your port day plans?

Well, we're pretty well decided on ours - availability permitting, of course. While we're in Puerto Vallarta, we want to do the "Sea Safari" - a powerboat ride, horseback riding into the jungle to a waterfall for some swimming, then to the beach for snorkeling! Then in Cabo we are thinking of doing the Salsa & Salsa excursion - the "all you can drink" margaritas sold the menfolk a lot more than the Salsa dancing lesson, I assure you! Also while in Cabo, we are making a trek to the Cabo Wabo Cantina - just to say we've been there!

Speaking of which how is the magnet coming? Do you have artwork ready for sharing yet?

I *thought* I was done...but then I found a thread from one of the *very* talented DISigners on here...there was a FABULOUS..."thing" that i'm working into my magnet now, so it's not quite ready. Maybe tomorrow night at work when I'm bored, lol!

Just a reminder - if you're going to participate in the FE, get me your info before November 1 so I can get the list out!

I hope you don't mind though but... I had a fun idea and I created it on my computer since I would have had a hard time explaining it to you in writing.

Hope you aren't mad I tweaked your work. I just thought it would be fun to make it look like a stamp It is a quick rendering, I think it needs a black border that way the hidden mickeys stand out better

My plan is to print and laminate one for each of us for our rooms! Once we get the border tweaked, that is. I usually laminate and then use the magnet strips on the back, but if anyone wanted to print on magnetic paper (more expensive, but sturdier) I'd be happy to send the file. I have to give props to milliepie, who had the Mickey head shaped map on file sharing!

We are trying to shoot for November 1 as a deadline, to give everyone a month. But the group is small, so definitely don't hesitate to put yourselves down as a maybe - we won't turn you away, I promise!!!

It's a LOT of fun. There are some great threads on the boards with ideas of what to give. The important thing is to keep it fun and don't stress over it! There's no pressure to spend a lot of money or anything, the coolest part is just having that little extra on your vacation!

Some of the things I've given/received, for example, include: picture mat and marker for characters to sign, mini photo album, Mickey day planner, keychain flashlight, CD with songs by people from the giver's area, magnets for our door, and of course the old standby and much appreciated candy!

One of the coolest was a homemade journal - they had bought only the clear report covers you can pick up at Walmart/Staples or wherever. Then they printed out custom pages for each day of our cruise and put them in order. For example, the first page was labeled "EMBARKATION!" and had boxes where you filled in your stateroom number, your host/ess's name, your servers, etc. There was a page for each restaurant, each port, and each big "event" (like pirate night, or the character breakfast). It was a great gift, because now I have a custom book all about our cruise and I can look at it anytime and remember the Magic (sorry, bad pun ).

Anyway, the point is, DON'T stress. Don't go crazy trying to get the "perfect" FE gift. ANY gift is magical and adds to the fun!

I've been doing some homework. Super Shuttle looks like a pretty decent deal, and was recommended by some others here. But I'm still trying to find other options, because the only thing they're showing from DL to the port is an "executive car" which costs more than DCL transfers! lol...their prices to/from LAX are great, though - $17/pp.

As far as the FE goes, we only have 3 rooms CONFIRMED (as in, I have names, stateroom #s, and so on), and they are all adult couples! However, we have some "maybes"...*ahem*...that need to let us all know if they're in! (If that's you...PM me your stateroom #, names, kids' age(s) if applicable, and any special notes everyone should know - like an allergy! - so we don't spoil anyone's good time!)

Hey, we were on the 1st Alaska cruise of the year and weren't planning on going again until 2014 or 15.

I am making my FE gift as well, it will be an adventure for me since it is somehting I have never done... I just hope they work
