December 2,2006...Anyone want to join us?

Hello everyone ! It's been awhile so I just wanted to say hi and bump us up!

Hope everyone has a good weekend, we are off to San Antonio and Sea World this weekend. :cool1:

My friend returned from her Western cruise two weeks ago and had a ball! I have read here that some had sea sickness, but she said her family wasn't affected. She had a Cat9 on the first floor mid ship and felt that helped them not feel the movement of the ship. Good thing, because we're going to be down there too, although we didn't have any weather problems in Dec 04. They had a stormy day at CC, sprinkled a bit but wasn't too threatening. She went overboard on souvenir spending, and she gave me some ideas for purchases at the ports (mostly stuff for the kids).

Bumping this thread up. We're on to a new month already!! We're getting there! I bought my sister matching Disney outfits from the Disney online website to match my kids' outfits, and she sent pictures. So cute!

Great to hear your friend had a wonderful time :thumbsup2 Cat 9 on deck two is great! we have had rooms there on our last two cruises. We are trying out a verandah this time (surprise for the DD).

momof6innc- Thats great that your friend had a good time!! I got some seasickness on our 4 night Wonder cruise last July, but always felt fine when I'd go in our Cat 9 (deck 2 midship) room. We booked another Cat 9 deck 2 this time.

Wow, Kenya, that is amazing! Is your family going with you? that would be the ultimate adventure!
princessdaisy- My kids and dh are staying home. My mom is gonna be caring for the kids during the day so dh can keep his same work schedule. I am travelling with 3 teams (about 19 people) and my Aunt and Uncle are part of the team I'm on.

Hiya all ~
wowo only 8 months and 24 days till depart! wowow - it is getting closer to spring - yahooo - my boat comes out of storage in two months ! darn I need a vacation!

Hope all is great with everyone!

My family and I will be joining you on this cruise!!!! There will be myself, my DH, DS age 6 and DS age 9 (ages at time of cruise). We sailed on the Wonder last year for 3 nights and are soooooo excited to be going on the Magic for 7 nights this year!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

luvmykids, welcome to the group! We also have a DS age 6 and a DD age 8, and DS ages 10 and 11 at the time of the cruise. We previously cruised on the 4 night Wonder during the same week two weeks ago, and the kids (and I!) are so excited to be on for a whole week!

One thing I'm debating now is either sticking with second dinner seating or trying to switch to first. What did you have the first time and what do you think your family would prefer? If we stay with 2nd I can forsee the little kids staying in the clubs during dinner more often.

Hi momof6,

I am excited 2 of your sons are the same age as my 2 boys. Last year on the Wonder we had the early seating for dinner and it worked well for us so I decided to do the same seating again for this cruise. I thought the boys would eat dinner with us and then go to the clubs.

I have a quick question for anyone who may know......When I booked the cruise yesterday the only cat 9 left was on deck 1. Would I be better off on deck 1 with the two small portholes or with a cat 10 on deck 2 with no porthole at all? I am also considering a cat 8 deck 5 but is it worth it? On our 3 night on the Wonder last year we were only in the room to change clothes. Any thoughts?

Thanks :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

We booked only two months ahead last time and had no trouble fitting 10 people (extended family) in for early seating. This time we booked 11 months ahead of time, and I could not get early seating for my family of 8 (smaller table). My parents and sister and family booked in February and even with their table size (3 and 4), they couldn't get first seating. I do have all of us linked, and I'm hoping that however it goes, we can either have two tables of 8 with the same server or one big table for 15. That way if the kids go to the clubs during dining room times, the grown ups can sit together!

DS, 5 came up to me the other day with an Oriental Trading Company catalog. They have all sorts of pirate stuff for sale, so I'm going to buy some eye patches, hats and bandanas. Never too early! I also ordered the Island Mickey clothes from the disney shopping website. It's fun to wear it now and imagine wearing it on the cruise in a few months!

When we went last year with 16 people we had to be waitlisted for the early seating. About 1 month before the cruise I called to check and we had been moved to the early seating. Nobody notified me but I had to call occasionally to check. We ended up with two tables side by side with the same servers. It would have been nice to have one big table but we were happy to get the seating we wanted.

What a great idea about the Oriental Trading Catalog. We have a party store by our house that sells pirate stuff and I will be buying some before we go so I don't have to on the ship. pirate: pirate:

:wave2: We just booked in early March for the 12/02/2006 cruise and we're very excited. :cool1: I'll be traveling with my 13 yo and my 16 yo daughters and my 14 yo niece. Some friends of ours are also going with their 15 yo daughter. We're going to be staying on Deck 1 in a Cat 9 room. I've always stayed in a Cat 8 on deck 5 or 6 before but since I'm taking my niece I thought this would be more economical. This will be our 7th Disney cruise and we can't wait. :Pinkbounc

:wave2:

:sunny: Welcome aboard, Teriandcb :) I have a 14 yr DD and 4 yr DS going on our third cruise on the Magic. This will be first time my DD will be in the teen club and she is a little nervous about it :p but should be fun.

Glad to hear there's another girl about my DD's age. Two years ago on our last DCL cruise, my oldest daughter was 14 and it took her awhile to feel comfortable in the teen's club. It will be easier this time. Does anyone know how many teens are going from this forum group? Counting down the days! :goodvibes

teriandcb, we have three rooms on the 1st floor, so we may be neighbors. This will be our second cruise and we were also on the first floor. Our kids know we won't spend much time there, they're just happy to be going on the cruise!

We're now going down to PC a day early and staying at a hotel with my parents and sister. We're probably going to drive all the way to Epcot for the day and meet up with them for dinner, then sleep the next day, hop in the car, and drive across the street to the port. It was going to be cost ineffective to stay overnight, but with my parents there in a bigger room, we can "loan" them some children and everyone will fit. One of the few times we won't have to get two rooms!

Hi everyone! I am new to the group and new to posting, so I hope I'm doing this correctly? We have 2 families traveling together on this cruise. Someone had asked about other teenagers - we have my DS 16 and the other family has DDs 17, 16, 11 and 10. This is our first cruise and like everyone else, we cant wait!!

Good morning

Welcome aboard - there will be two 14 yr olds and 2 17 yr olds in my party :)

can not wait - my countdown clock states 8 months 8 days - yahoo

My son is VERY excited about the teen activities. Have the 17yr olds in your party been on this cruise before? If so, we would appreciate any advice on anything that's "cant-miss"

Nope only my DD (14) has - the 17 yr olds never have - I think your best bet is to look at the navigators and see what they want to do - DD was not a happy camper when I made her go to dinner with us or on excursions! eheh she wanted to party all night long! and all day too :thumbsup2
