What do you think the crowds will be like December 18-21 ? I was thinking maybe since Christmas is not until Saturday, that the crowds would be kind of low until the 23rd or so. Any thoughts please.

my birthday is on the 18th and we went the 15th-21st about 8 years ago and there was no one there. Our last day there the crowds got pretty bad, but the other days it was awesome. That was a while ago, so i dont know if it is different now.

I'm afraid the crowds will probably be a little heavier this year than they were the last few if the sold out MVMCP on Dec. 17 is anything to judge by. Be prepared with a plan and use Fastpass. You can still have a great time!

It will probably be crowded -- but will still be fabulous!! Disney is great no matter what. princess:

We will not be there, but DD gets out of school for winter break 12/17. How many other schools might be like that I don't know. We have gone in Mid June before, and had lots of fun with the highest crowds of the year, it is a state of mind, and getting fast passes!

All of the school around here (middle tennessee) are getting out on the 17th too. That's when I'm going to Disney!!

My DS's school gets out on the 17th also, but we're not leaving until the 23rd, because of DH's work. I have one neice from Tennessee & one from North Carolina who have children getting out of school on the 17th, and both their families are going to WDW then. Sounds like most schools get out at the same time. It could be worse, you could be there when we are. Dec. 23rd to Jan. 2nd, but I can't wait. Just that many more people to share the magic with. :crowded: :wizard:

We were there last year the week before-the 17th to 29th. The days before the 25th were just great. The 25th to 28th were nuts. My DH said never again after the 25th. We will be there this year the 18th to 23rd. Of course our comparison is summer crowds. We usually only get away then due to DH teaching. I think the crowds will be about the same this year. Not too bad before Christmas and terrible after.

We will be going to WDW over the same time frame (12-17 to 12-23) for our first time. We normally go over the summer due to my wife and me being teachers. I will let everyone know how this time compares to summer time.

I am also a teacher and have gone at summer and Spring Break. Spring break was a lot more crowded than the 2nd week of June, still, with our unofficial guide and fastpass we had no problems. I am optimistic about this Christmas trip. We are hoping the crowds will be minimal until around the 23rd.........we are taking that as our off day. We're doing Epcot on the 24th because it's the park that can absorb the most people. But, the 25th was left to the children to decide, so we will be in MK.............even though I know we shouldn't! So, I built in a day and two evenings at MK earlier in the week so that whatever we do on the 25th will be extra and not "must do".

So close now!

My DD does not get done school until Dec 23rd and she is in Grade 12 so can't take any days off. Therefore we are going to join the crowds from the 26 to Jan 2nd. This is late for getting off school for Christmas here.

We will be there 12/17 to 12/22. We plan on visiting MK on 12/18 and 12/19 - even though that is the weekend. Our thoughts were - the closer it gets to Christmas the more crowded the MK will get. So we want to be done with the MK early in our trip. Unsure if this stategy will prove to work, but we are hoping so.

My son (10th Grade) gets out of school at 12:45 on Thursday, the 16th. He goes 1/2 day for exams, so I'm picking him up from school and heading to WDW! We haven't been in December in several years, and next year's school calendar is not ready, so we're making a last minute trip (planned in November). We are preparing for crowds, but hope to manage them with fast pass. I'm hoping the worst of the crowds will arrive as we leave!

We're going the 17th-23rd. We went at Christmas a couple years ago, and June this year. I don't think the crowds at Christmas are near as bad as in June. But then, the heat makes it seem stuffier on it's own. I love going at Christmas time. And Christmas day was empty at MGM that year. I imagine MK gets the crowds on that day.
