December 17, 2006 4-Night Wonder Cruise

75 days 'til cruise, 71 'til we hit MK. Can't wait.
Excursions booked, kids registered, land meals reserved, just need to pack.
I'm looking for a pen pal for my DD4, especially if you're getting there a few days early. She's a little shy and knowing somebody would help get her into the kids area. Trying to book private time for me and DW and it all depends on getting the little one into the activities. DD11 can't wait to check in and stay all night.
See everybody there.

As mentioned above, since we're 75 days out us first-timers can now book a reservation at Palo. I got mine today and there were several options, so I don't think anyone has to worry about being shut out.

My worry now is the ship capacity. I tried to see what category rooms were still available this morning and our cruise has vanished from the reservation page! Just a few short days ago you could still book about 6 different categories of rooms on the 4 day sailing 12/17. Now there are no rooms available! Any idea what might have caused that to happen? Was there a run on this date? A sudden large group that booked dozens of rooms at once? Gremlins?

Singlemalt--don't know about the cruise availability, maybe they are updating the inventory for those blocks held by TAs that are being returned to Disney inventory unsold and they just take a while to show up. Check Expedia as well as the Disney site. See if there are any differences.

I booked a Palo brunch today. I want the kids and I to have dinner together every night so this seemed like a good comprimise. It will be me and my much younger brother at Palo at 10 on the sea day. I bet the views are fabulous.

This interested me so I also searched our cruise on the disney site... at first I just entered 2 adults and availability came up in cat. 4-12, but when I went back and searched for 2 adults AND 2 kids...NOTHING! That must mean they have filled their quota of children! Man, that will be a lot of kids!
Thank heaven for the adult only areas! :teeth:

Disney can't get here soon enough. Things are so busy here for us.

We've booked all our excursions for the cruise and meals for the world. One of these days, I'll get us to dine with the princess. There must be a secret number to book, because I'm always too late... :confused3 Even at 8:05 at 180 days out.. But it will be great to sit and relax.

My DD (10) is looking forward to hearing from all the other girls on the cruise. So email me and I'll pass along. She doesn't have her own email yet. Not on her long list of things she must have.. :D

Did find something for those of you on land before the cruise. New Salon for girls at DTD. Bippityboppty boutique... (Yes I know I spelled it wrong) Sheduled an appointment for her to look like a princess. Probably cheaper than on the ship.

Again, hope to meet everyone on the ship. We just need to meet and greet somewhere.

Hi Marcy! I went to Expedia and tried to book two adults and two kids and got the same thing you did. But when I tried to book two adults and one kids I got all the way down to a category 9. So, maybe the majority of the rooms that sleep four are filled. That might mean a few upgrades. That is a nice thought!

Tammy, did you call to reserve your Palo brunch? I tried on the Disney Criuse site and it gives only dinner options. If you called, can you give me the # please?

I booked it online. But my party is just two. Maybe your party size is larger and they were sold out for the larger tables. I don't know. But, I have read on these boards that if you go to the dining desk onboard right after embarkation, then you will have a good chance of getting your reservation.

Thanks Tammy! I was trying for my husdand and I while the rest of the group was doing their thing and the kids were in the clubs. I'll try again when we get there. I have never been more ready to go on a vacation before. We didn't take a summer vacation because this one was such a big exspense. Let me say...that will never happen again! Waiting till the end of the year for your vacation bites!!

I hear ya Sister! ::yes:: We only visited family and stuff this summer. We were fortunate enough to go to Hawaii last March for Spring Break, however it RAINED almost the whole time....and I mean RAIN!!! Flooding, roads out, dams breaking, too much silt/dirt running off into the ocean to snorkel, etc. Ha, did I just complain about being in Hawaii!?!?! We had pretty lame weather for our 6/05 DCL trip to Mexico too. I am so ready to lay by the Signals Pool and actually feel sun on my skin! :sunny:
Hope I didn't just jinx things for us... It will be December after all...
Marcy

Sorry that your Hawaii trip was so bad :sad2: but I would have complained too if it rained so much. I hope we have good weather while we're on our trip. I'm really looking forward to trying snorkeling. Never done it before. :beach:

Update: They have opened up categories 10-12 on our cruise. Can that mean that they are starting to oversell lower categories, thus increasing the chances of an upgrade? Optimistic cruiser :sunny:

I have my TA checking on the cost of upgrading from a cat 9 to a 6. I have a hunch it will be more than we are willing to part with but DH made the request.
Maybe, just maybe, we'll get such an upgrade without the $$???!?! :wizard: pixiedust: Gonna need the pixie dust for this one!

New to the Board from the West Coast. Don't know all the codes. Just booked 12/17 Me 39, DW 38, DS 10 and DD 8. Disney vet. This is a crazy but they told me all rooms for 4 people were sold out (wanted a Cat. 6) so had to book 2 rooms (Cat. 6 (that sleeps 3) and Cat. 11 right across the hall). The price turned out to be cheaper than if a Cat. 6 were available for 4. Strange. I guess we will have an extra room for luggage. See you on board. :hourglass

Welcome to our cruise meet!! We are not a crazy bunch or real chatty but we are friendly. I have a DD who is eight also. I am hoping that our group will have a cruise meet on the first day. Maybe our daughters can get acquainted. It is always easier for them to get used to the clubs if they know at least one person.

Hi Dis Days!
I found out today too that all "quads" are taken when I asked our TA to check into pricing for upgrading to a cat. 6. That is very interesting about the cost being less for a cat. 6 with 2 + cat. 11 with 2 than for a cat. 6 for 4 people! Man, if my kids were older, my DH would be THRILLED to have them in the room across the hall  !!
Guess, we'll be happy to be on the ship at all.
Glad you found the DIS!! :disrocks:

Sorry you couldn't get a Cat. 6. Actually, I would never let my kids be in their own room (at least not until they reach their teens). My tiny DD8 princess: will squeeze in with us so we are all in the same room (don't tell the captain). I will probably end up over there after getting kicked all night.
Going to the MVMCP the day we return (21st) then off to MI the next day for xmas and snow at grandmas.

howdy everyone,
please excuse me for crashing your thread here but I am trying to make sure everyone on a Wonder cruise has seen the thread on the forum page of this cruise board.
It has changes that affect all of us. It is called :
BAD CHANGES IN THE ENTERTAINMENT ON THE WONDER

Please check it out , around post 10 there are 2 letters from DCL confirming that the Wonder will NO longer have a house band, which means NO live music in the clubs and NO live music at the sailaway party.
many of us have written to DC asking them to bring back our live band. It adds so much to the cruise experience.

They will have a DJ and recorded music, but we can hear that at home.

If you dont mind then that is fine too, but if you would like the live music back, please take 5 minutes to write and tell them how you feel, if enough people respond we can get it changed because DCL does listen to their guests. dcl.guest.communications@disneycruise.com

Thanks for reading my letter and again I am sorry to crash your thread, but it is the only way I can reach all the people on the Wonder cruises.

I do wish all of you a MAGICAL cruise,

mom x4,grandma x4

I originally booked the flights through DCL. Cancelled, booked on my own and saved $200/person. I think I can afford one of those single malts on the cruise now.
Flight booked.
Meals in the parks booked.
Shore excursions booked.
Nothing to do now but wait.
We set sail two months from tomorrow, but whose counting?
Can't wait to put faces with names and posts.
See you there.

Wait, yes. I got to thinking that we need to get through Halloween AND Thanksgiving before we are really on the down hill to vacation!
BTW-- We have faces you can see now!
