Thanks for the welcome AmandaRG.
So glad I am not the only one bringing up clothes! I love dressing up, but need it to be practical. And frankly it has been enough years that my Florida wear is several sizes too small and several decades out of date, lol.
As a homeschooler in the Pacific Northwest I find an actual dress is not all that useful out here. Skirts are practical. Dressing up means dress pants with my boots. I may bring them as I found it hard to walk when my feet were not tied into my shoes with the ship movement/waves. Or heels with the buckle strap.
I had no luck finding a nice dress for the Alaska cruise and ended up borrowing one from a friend. (Hmm, loved that dress) Also the heat difference going from our winter to South Florida and dressing up without being too hot.
Timing of formal night also matters-
Early in the cruise, Dress cooler and you get to see how pale we really are.
Later in the cruise-The girls in our family will need a dress that matches well with the red sunburn we will probably have and not clash with dd's red hair. (insert sunburned emoticon here)
The trick is really not having a dress that would allow the sunburn to be scratched by someone walking by. Yes we use maximum sunscreen and re-apply, but it just seems inevitable so we might as well plan for it.
Such a fashion dilema. Do they make evening wear out of soft soothing cotton soaked in aloe vera?
Then again Hunter green and sunburn would be Christmas colors

Seriously though, we're going to try and dress up in something washable that packs small. Hubby will probably rent the tux to avoid packing his suit.
Mickey Christmas tie will be packed.
