December 15, 2012 A Yo-HO-HO-HO Holiday Fantasy!

Happy Birthday David! (sorry I was slightly off key during the song......)

Hope you have a great birth-day, weekend, month, season (I believe in celebrating for as long as possible). :woohoo:

.

We're in the process of booking this cruise. :cool1:
Love the idea of going to San Juan.

Decisions on which stateroom to book. (In the end we got a GTY so did not have to make the decision, lol)

Looking forward to "meeting" everyone.

Skye (NW Mom- who will be escaping the rain when she goes)

Welcome Skye and family!!:cool1::cool1:Glad you are along for the ride:cool1::cool1:or rather cruise:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Happy Birthday to all the September Birthday Parties!!party:

Hope I'm able to copy/past this...love it!

We have officially booked!!!!!!!!! :dance3:

It will be my DH Kevin, myself Skye and dd 10 (turns 11 the next week). We are taking advantage of not having to match the school calendar as we homeschool. The closest thing to studying we will be doing is making sure we have the right SPF number in our sunscreen.

Son mentioned in the above post will not be with us. He enters the real world of job/college in June and most likely will not have earned any vacation time by then.

This is our second DCL cruise. First was to Alaska in May. We went because it was so close to our home and we didn't have to buy airfare.
Now we're hooked!

I do have plans to go to meet the Wonder next summer on Mondays and play tour guide if anyone happens to be on one then. (As a courtesy, I'm not in the business, lol) We can just plan our summer activities to coordinate. I'll need my Disney fix.

Happy Birthday to another Sept. baby. Mine is the 7th.

:bday: LOL David. Gee...a little birdie told me it was your birthday!

Happy Birthday!

Just found out this week-end, our daughter and her son will be joining us on this cruise.:cool1: Sooooooooooo, looks like we have to get a bigger stateroom now. There will be 5 of us, me, wifey - DW, our daughter - DD, our grandson - DGS and our granddaughter - DGD. This should be fun. This will be DD's and DGS's first Disney cruise. After seeing our pictures and videos I shot of DW and I riding the AquaDuck - they made their decision on the spot that they wanted to join us on this cruise.:woohoo: Already placed our order for a bigger stateroom.

Thanks for the warm welcome!!!

Now to brush up my family's Spanish skills for San Juan, Puerto Rico.
I know English is also spoken there, but I want the full experience as well.

(OK, I really just want them to learn Spanish so I have someone to talk to at home so I don't keep losing mine.)

I forgot to ask this in my earlier post.

DW and our DD were talking to each other this week-end about this cruise and our formal night. All the time they were discussing this issue in the dining room - even though they were talking to each other - and I was in the living room trying NOT to be a part of the discussion - they were looking at me the whole time!!! (How do you gals do that!!!):confused3 Anywho, they wanted me to ask here on the DIS Board, to some of you who have taken a cruise around Christmas what do the majority wear on formal nights? (They want to know if they should go out and buy a Christmas formal gown.) Thank you.

You won't see me in a formal gown, Christmas or otherwise. I will probably just wear a nice skirt and top or a dress I already have. DH may or may not wear a suit, I'll leave that up to him.
As we cruise more we dress up less, but other's will go all out. We've seen some people dress up every night (suits, tuxes, gowns), even on the shorter cruises.

If they are looking for gowns, maybe a red or green one? We will dress up that night, because it is something we never do! I wouldn't look for a specific holiday themed one.

Welcome NWmom! We homeschool as well! Love being able to plan vacations for off season times! It makes it easy for DH to take the time off, too! Our girls will be 5 and 6 when we sail.

Thanks jilljill and AmandaRG - I will pass along your comments to DW and DD. We too dress up for formal and semi-formal nights. Both DW & DD already have beautiful dresses. They thought because it was around Christmas everyone might be wearing something special for the holiday. I might get a Christmas Disney tie if I can find one.
After this last b2b cruise DW & I were on we decided to pack less from now on. (Don't worry - we'll still have clothes to wear every night!!! Hope I didn't scare any body.):lmao: We saw a couple who were older then us on one of our b2b cruises and they were in jeans and t-shirts every night.

Did you see my DH on those cruises?!? :rotfl2: Oh wait....we haven't done B2B's and he's hasn't been on cruises without me. The 3 of us usually wear jeans a couple of nights, no matter the cruise length. But he does wear a polo or button down shirt, I draw the line at t-shirts (graphic ones) at dinner.

We'll be in the club of rewearing clothes on the cruise.

Formal night:

I've gone from full length glitter to simple black slacks with a nice top on formal night. Hmmmmm....I do have a nice red sweater that sparkles, think I'll bring that! :thumbsup2

.

First off I want to thank you Shari for all of your work in setting up our own cruise page. I learned yesterday from this page who was going to on the back on the Fantasy when she is completed. Dumbo - GREAT choice.:thumbsup2

And also.................Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me........Happy Birthday dear David........Happy Birthday to me!!! (Some you you out there were a little off key!) But it is the thought that counts!!! Thank you all soooooooooo much!!! I'm sixty fou..............no,no,no,no, I am forty six............yes - that's it...........I'm forty six today!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you all so much!!! It was such a surprise - I had no idea ya'll would remember!!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Hi davidls,

A very Happy Birthday to you.

The two 16 year olds with me who will be celebrating 18th birthdays and graduation(early-but have decided not to go to beach week because they are going on a cruise in December-yeah for a great descision) have already started putting plastic over homecoming dresses for semi formal night and are thnking about packing this years prom dress for formal night. I will probably bring a couple of nice cocktail dresses that pack easily with me and I am trying to pack lightly and will probably wash while on board. I need small suitcase for my FE gifts.

Speaking of FE, when do most cruises start organizing this? I have already started getting my ideas and started them:banana:
