Who are the other families from Cali. We are in Thousand Oaks (about 1 1/2 hours from DL) and would be up for a pre cruise meet.

I booked airfare back in March. Fortunately I had Sky Miles for 3 of the tickets and the third I picked up for around $500 (Delta). I really envy the people who live in FL or other areas close enough to drive.

howdy y'all. we are in pasadena. we, too, booked our own airfare as we have a group of 13 and all wanted to stay together, non-stop, it was about $475 per person, about 3 weeks ago on united.
keep me posted about the DL meet, our AP expires 10/30 so we still have the weeks before halloween...i think we're going to take a break after that from the AP's, maybe until DS(18.5 MO) is a little older and will appreciate the frequency more than he does now.
can't wait to book that hot stone massage, yeehaw!!!

Andrea, that's right we were on the Dec 2nd- the 9th cruise. So you did get on right after we got off.

The flight costs are what I am worried about the most coming out to DL next year, well that and the fact that I HATE TO FLY! DS and I flew Southwest when we came home this summer and it was only like $60.00 a person one way. I wish SW flew out west. I am sure we will pay through the nose and DH refuses to drive. (I don't blame him though)

Southwest flies to Ontario & Orange County which are not far from DL and WAY less crowded! We always fly from ONT because its closer for us.

Living in Florida does have it's perks! I'd still rather live back up north though.

I'm jealous! Although having DL nearby isn't too bad...

An idea for a mini meet: I haven't done this, but it has come to this mommy's ears that down town Disney is really fun right before Halloween.

Maybe we could meet up and take the little ones trick or treating towards the end of October.

Just a thought, I would love for my family to meet you, and for the children to have "built in play mates" on board.

Thats too funny, this is how I feel about our electric bill every month here in HOT HOT Florida.

I would die in this humidity if I turned off the air! I think we may get 3 weeks out of the year that I can shut it off and open the windows. I keep ours on about 75 and my electric bill is still up over 300.00 easy

In 2004 we went to Disney World in August and swore we would never go in the summer again. Three years passed and we ended up at Disney in August again, 6 days at the parks and a 3 night cruise. Again we were miserable (aside from being at Disney World). Luckily we were smarter this time and rebooked on board, before we forgot how HOT and HUMID Florida is during the summer.

I read this to my DH and he said, "What are they talking about, it's not hot out!"

Our beloved fog covers us until 10:00 am and then burns off as ordered until 4:00 pm when it reappears in time to cool off the house for sleep time.

However, unlike Katies Mommy, I embrace my full Jed Clapmentishness... our deck is under construction, since it was rude enough to rot out while I was ignoring it. I am not lazing on chaise lounge directing my bi-lingual workers on this reconstruction. Oh no, rather I'm in my grubbiest clothes power drill in hand building it with DH.

So if you came to visit me now, I would greet you with a cold glass of lemonade and a power tool.

Is it December yet?

When I booked this trip the TA was delicately trying to figure out what economic class I fit into.

She asked, “When you travel what sort of accommodations do you normally reserve?”
I replied, “When I book myself my only criteria is: “Are my dogs allowed in my room?”

After she stopped laughing she added, “So you’ll be pampering yourself on this trip!”

My cousin assures me that to have true hillbilly status, you must have at least one bathroom fixture in your yard serving as a planter.

We don't even have AC... Maybe I don't want to move to Florida
But the heat bill gets huge from Nov-April!

We went to WDW in August one time and swore we'd never do that again... but after a few years, ya kinda miss it and if it's the only time...
Kind of like having that second child... (there is a reason mine are 4 years apart! Took some time for memories to fade!)

WDW in December is great for Christmas but sometimes not hot enough to swim. We don't even try to make time for the water parks...
Oh, well, except we are hitting Discovery Cove this time. At least they give you wet suits!

Is it just me or is anyone else not making ADR's or worrying much about where you're eating at WDW since we'll get fed like spring lambs on the ship? We have a kitchen in the condo, so that helps.
Actually, we do have one ADR at Rose and Crown for the 8th. I seriously doubt we'd have needed it. We also do want to hit the T-Rex at DTD. I know it will be average Rainforest Cafe type food, but DS is way into dinosaurs.

We are also going to hit this place off site called "Taverna Opa!" I read about it in Attractions magazine and it sounds right up our alley. Toss around napkins, dance on the tables, and it's a family atmosphere!

I never heard of this place, is it in Kissimmee or Orlando? Sounds like a fun place to eat. We have done the mafia dinner show (I can't remember the name of it and King Henry's feast (this one was a blast).

We were just at our DTD and it looks like T-Rex could be opening anytime now. I can't wait as it looks interesting.

We usually go to WDW in Dec for our family vacation because it is the only time DH can usually get off work for a week or two. Sometimes we can swim and then other times you jump in and you stay under water with just your head sticking out so that you don't freeze your tushie off!

Katherine I guesss we may fall into the Clampetts too (in more ways then one I might add) but anyhow I have a Mickey lamp post I made for when we stay at Fort Wilderness and the base is made from parts of bathroom plumbing and a plant pot.

We are there with ya! We also have been on two other DCL cruises. Our last cruise we booked nearly two years out. Dh is already excited about this cruise.
We are in Cat 5 room 7564.

Cruising will be DH (46) at time of cruise, Myself (42) DS (10) and maybe DD (19) not sure if she will be able to go as she will be at college. She's not happy that she may not be able to go. We have her on the cruise, but we may have to take her off.

IT IS NEVER TO EARLY TO GET EXCITED ABOUT A DCL Cruise.

I leave for the weekend and yall go all Clampett and Party Animaling on me! But Kat, Casey wants to know if yall are bringing your gear so we can go fishing off the back of the boat and if ya figured out how to get the still past customs! But he informed me we weren't the Clampetts, we are Ma and Pa Kettle only Pa is a truck driver lol

We just got in from a weekend up at Six Flags in Illinois ( another sweep win ) and I am just bushed. Kids had a blast and we got a bunch of the family to go, 24 in our group, it was so much fun and Carrie kinda got the hots for Pepe Le Pew and wouldn't leave him alone. Katie was all amazed about Wiggle World, Dorothy, Wags, Henry and Captain Feathersword were all there and she got to dance on stage with them! It was a lot of fun.

Well I managed to make a FE, I surprised myself and it turned out ok. Mind you it is nothing fancy, but I at least wanted to give it a try. I will post a picture later.

Andrea I don't know what happened to my boo, But I got a blank picture that said I used the wrong link.

Now I will bore you all with my incident that happened tonight. I went for my walk tonight like I always do and TWO pitbulls attacked me! I tell you it scared the death right out of me. One minute I am walking and then all the sudden I am getting slammed into by this huge (at least 80lb male) I screamed! He tried to knock me off of my feet. I smacked him in the head with one of my hand weights and he backed off. As soon as I started walking away him and the female came at me again. I screamed again (NO ONE came out to call them off). The male scratched the heck out of my legs and he was foaming at the mouth. I will probably have a bruise on my leg where he slammed into me. I just know if I would of fell they would of attacked my face. Luckily I didn't panic and run (that would of been the worst thing I could of done) I swung at both of them the second time they came at me. I have been waiting on the Sheriff's Dept. to show up. NOTHING YET. I swear you have to be bleeding to death or have a arm ripped off before they take action. Geesh... I feel I am pretty Tough, but I have to tell ya this scared me.
These animals should be fenced in or chained up in my opinion. I keep thinking what would of happened if that were my 70lb. son. They would of killed him!
