We also have stayed at the Hyatt for the day following a cruise. It was definitely worth the $$. We swam in the pool, napped, walked around the shops at the airport and were all ready for our 6:30pm flight back to the west coast. Warning: the restaurant at the Hyatt is expensive... even for lunch. We spent almost as much as the room itself cost just having lunch.

This year we are going to the Swan/Dolphin for the night and an extra day to visit either the parks or the decorated resorts and flying back the next morning.

Wow, Andrea, I hope you are feeling better soon, too! DH and DS had a minor bout of it last week, but seem fine now.

I think I mentioned before that we are also doing MVMCP, anyone else there on the night of Dec. 7th this year?
We have not been to any of the other parties at MK, so nothing to compare it to.
We are opting out of the Candlelight Processional...I would like it, but my DH is one of the top choir directors in the country and thinks it might be like being at work instead of on vacation to sit and listen to a choir!
I am hoping we might catch some while strolling by...

We have 2 times. The first time (about 5 years ago?) it was a ghost town. The 2nd time (the next year) it was a zoo. I couldn't figure out why, but I don't think we are going to try it again just in case.

If you all want I can add a line to the spreadsheet showing when everyone is coming in and where they are staying pre-cruise. That way we won't have to go back and read through 20 posts to figure out where everyone is.

UPDATE-I added it and put the info I could find in the last 3 pages or so. If you want me to update your info PM me.

DS appears to be relapsing after DH was ill this week, we'll probably pass on DL on Friday

Hope he feels better. It really is bad. I'm waiting for the hammer to drop and have all four sick at the same time! It will probably be Fri knowing my luck (and how badly I need a Disney fix!)

Never been on Thanksgiving but I have heard that Thanksgiving and Christmas are two of the busiest days of the year? Not sure if it is true but its what I heard.

I have one in preschool still and I swear that place is a caldron of cooties! I think I get sick from what she brings home (she is healthy as an OX most days!)

I have been so sick! I got a sinus infection and I was in bed for a whole day, I still have a fever but it couldn't keep me away from the DIS!


I have compiled a google doc of our magnet/fish extender list that everyone can access & print before the cruise.

Take a look at it and see if your info is correct & if there is any other info you think should be included. I will assign days to deliver your stuff at 30 days prior to cruise (Nov 13th). If you have a particular day, like pirate day or Cozumel day that you want to deliver your FE gifts on let me know, otherwise it will be random.

My room has changed, no more POP, they now have us at the OKW for the 10, 11, and 12. Now we do not have to move out her morning of the 11th.. . Now Dw can do the without a problem (making a joke, no burning) I send my WDW laundry out the first morning on the ship so I can start the week off totally fresh (clean clothes) as DW is on vacation toooo.
Now that we are on the front page someone else can type something..

We are staying at the Residence Inn the night before. We could just drive down the day of the cruise (were only an hour and a half away), But we like to be there the night before so we don't have to rush in the morning.

gg we love OKW...last year was the first time we stayed there (we had a two bedroom villa) it was wonderful. Ds and I liked going to the common room and playing BINGO! We use to always stay at VWL, but I think OKW is my new favorite VC resort.

We fly in from the UK on Sunday 7th and are staying at a hotel near Sea World, just off International drive until 11th, when we drive up to the Raddison at Port Canaveral, where we stay until the cruise.

What is the Christmas Party and where is it?

After the cruise we have rented a villa with pool for 2 weeks, so we can do Disney properly before we fly back to the miserable winter in UK. So glad we will be missing a whole month of it this year!!

I think it would be good to extend the spread sheet. I will have a cell phone with me, but it will be expensive for you to ring, as it is a UK one.

As soon as we fly in we usually go to Walmart and pick up a couple of cheap cell phones to use while we are over there.

If anyone is planning a meet before the cruise, let us know, especially anyone with kids, as DS gets bored with just us oldies for company.

They are talking about the Christmas party at the Magic Kingdom..MVMCP (Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party) It goes off Nov - the end of Dec. It is something that you pay extra for and it happens on certain nights at the Magic Kingdom after regular park hours...If this makes sense...

Hey! We're staying at Horizons by Marriott near Sea World from the 6th-13th. Are you anywhere near there? We will likely go to Sea World on the 7th and will be at Discovery Cove on the 11th. (WDW in between)

MVMCP = Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and is at the Magic Kingdom on select nights. It is a hard ticket event, meaning you have to purchase a separate ticket for it. We are going on the evening of the 7th. There is lots more info on it all over the DIS including the podcast.

In other news-Our trip to DL today was PERFECT . Well, except when Mikey's head got stuck in the railing at Soarin' (was worried for a minute that they were gonna call the fire department but I figured if she got it in it had to fit back out somehow! After a whole lot of screaming and a big push it came out...) and Parker asking "why are those two boys kissing like that?" (it is Gay Days and a great opportunity to teach diversity & cooties-it's gross when ANYONE is making out,or as the Brits say SNOGGING, in public! ) but otherwise....PERFECT.

The crowds were light, they are getting ready for Miley's big sweet 16 and they were filming the Food Network Challenge for her birthday cake (we watched some of the action!). Our family is BIG Food Network fans so that was a treat. Mikey FINALLY is 42 inches tall so we did most of the fun rides (she's an adrenaline junkie !) She was bawling after a roller coaster ride and a CM asked if it was too scary and she yelled at him "NO, MY MOMMY SAYS I HAVE TO HAVE LUNCH NOW! I WANT TO GO AGAIN!" he didn't have a response.
I tell you it's things like this that make my life so sweet (even the stuck head & sex ed talk).

Debz my family is staying at the Raddison as well. We don't arrive until late on the 12th though. Our flight won't land until 6pm and then we have to find our way there. We may as well drive straight to the terminal
