Wow, this cruise does seem empty compared to others in this thread. We have a group of several cast members going with us (our group is currently at 11 people and growing, lol.) I suspect a lot of WDW cast members will be on this cruise, as I know of other acquaintances going (though not with me per se).
Druidia, one of our rooms is the deck 6 "sideways" variety also, front of ship. We might be neighbors, lol. I'm excited for deck 6, as it will be relatively close to the main areas of the top of the ship (can use stairs). My last cruise was deck 2 stateroom, sigh.
I know some of you have cruised
DCL before and the rest have probably read plenty of info. Here are my best tips, as this is my 4th cruise:
-Disney is not an alcohol stickler like Carnival and others. You can bring alcohol on board (provided you aren't overly overt with it.) You can also keep any bottles of liquor you buy (duty free and cheap) in Nassau - they don't hold it for you til end of cruise. As such, you can open your bottles during the cruise and make your own cocktails, especially with the drink mixers on deck 9 (soft drinks).
-book Palo for dinner, preferably the night you are scheduled for Parrot Cay dinign room, the least impressive of the 3 dining rooms. Palo is simply delicious and worth the extra charge.
-if going to Atlantis in Nassau, the cheapest way is the water taxi (under $10 round trip) unless your group is big enough to pile up in a taxi and split fare. Note you have like a 1/4 - 1/2 mile walk to and from the water taxi drop off point and Atlantis proper, so only do water taxi if this is acceptable.
-bring pirate clothes/costume for pirate night.
-Bring your appetite, as the food is great and available 24/7 with room service.
- get ready for a great time. DCL is sooooo much nicer than Carnival in terms of appearance, cleanliness, and food quality. I'm just as excited for DCL cruise #4 as I was my first.
Less than 3 weeks from now. Woohoo!!
