December 12 - 19, 2009 Western Magic

Hi y'all, don't mean to keep crashing your thread, but I'm watching what is happening with you guys to figure out what is going on with us...I see you've been watching us, too, since you know that some people in our group have gotten "the call" from DCL for a paid upgrade! (I'm from the 12/19 sailing) Sadly, I am not one of them...

Wonder why more of you have not gotten calls for paid upgrades for this cruise? Any assignments yet? Maybe y'all will get the wonderful upgrades without having to pay for them! That would be true pixie dust :)

I thought maybe if more of you were getting calls even now I could tell myself that the calls will keep coming for awhile and maybe DCL will get to me. I know I need to be happy with the cat 12, it is what I booked, but sometimes it's hard to wear your "big girl panties" if you know what I mean - LOL! Given the fact that our family is able to go on this cruise at all, I should be jumping for joy, and I am! I'd just be jumping a little higher in a cat 9 ;)

Finally finished my home made fish extender!

Crash away, it's good to have the info!

Cute FE!

We haven't received any calls and haven't gotten a room assignment as of yesterday. I try not to log on and check otherwise it'll drive me crazy.

My daughter's name is Sarah and we live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We are flying in on the 10th and staying at the Poly for 2 nights. We will hit magic Kingdom on the 11th and then the cruise on the 12th. Afterwards we are staying in Orlando and hitting NASA (when we get off the cruise), then Discovery Cove and most likely Seaworld.. then home a couple of day before Christmas. We are currently in a cat 5 - possibly looking to upgrade to a suite at the port... will have to see...

Wow, Sounds like you have it all planned out....Sounds wonderful! I'll tell Masha to look out for Sarah at the kids club. Tell Sarah she wears eyeglasses and shoulder length hair. Have a safe flight in.

We've been tossing around the idea of something to identify ourselves. On past cruises I've been on, the Dis' board group has ordered these.

I found this deal on bracelets. It is a better deal then the first time I looked at them. Anyway, see what you think. I don't mind ordering, and even sending them out if everyone (or majority) wants to commit to buying them. I just don't want to order 100 of them and only give our 20...lol.

We could do it two ways, 100 adult, making them about $1.00 each? (thus covering the excess that we don't use) Or, however many want them, divide that by the total cost? When I priced them, I just did the debossed, one color (Dis board green), etc.....cheap. *****:teacher:They have the special that if you order 100, you get 100 free. I called to ask specifically, so there were no surprises, and he said it is the same size. We could get the youth, but for $40 more.

Looking for suggestions. What do you guys think???? They are only on sale through today

Here's the link for you to check them out: http://www.wrist-band.com/

We did the bands on our last cruise and they were great. My son still wears his every day (almost a year later) and my DH still wears his frequently. After 1 straight year of wear (almost) my son's band still looks brand new. We got ours through the reminder-band company mainly because you could order in smaller batches and multiple sizes. The youth sizes were great for the smaller kids, the mediums were great for the teens and smaller adults (even a larger woman like me) and the Adult sizes were great for the men. That said, I think we paid like $2 a band, and the site you mention looks to be very similar but at $1 a band (or possibly less). Last year we did the lime green bands, with blue fill and they looked great. I think they were individually wrapped as well.

I'd certainly be in for bands, but would like to have kids sized bands as well. I've been pricing them out off and on, and haven't seen prices as good as these, but I'm concerned in our ability to get commitments on 100 bands in such a short time period (not even considering the second 100 for free.) The offer says the free bands are the same size as the original bands, which means if we wanted to order kids bands we'd have to order 100 of them as well?

As far as mailing them, our group last year decided to save on the mailing costs and just picked them up at the port the morning of the cruise. The coordinator had designated a bench near the restrooms and we met her there with our money and she had the bands separated into individual baggies for each of us.

I don't think we will get committments on 100 bands, there just isn't that many of us. But, it wouldn't matter if everyone just divided the cost of the bands evenly per band ordered. I guess my point being, I don't mind ordering, but because we don't have enough people, I would have the remainder of the bands unpaid for. For that matter, once the cost is covered, we could just give the extras to each of the families who did order.

Maybe it would be better to pay for smaller quanities, but it could be more expensive. If we were to assume everyone on our FE list wanted one per person, how many people are we at?

We will take 6 and be happy to pay. I would be glad to help you cover your cost as well. Maybe we can get commitments for most of them. I say order them.

I think there are a couple names not on the FE list. But, as it stands now, there are only 7 kids under 11 years old. Can 11 yo's wear the adult bands? Huh, can you see where I'm going with this? LOL

What color would we buy and what exactly will the band say?

Dis' green, and whatever we want it to say, along with maybe the dates.

What was the final vote for the Christmas cruise saying? We could use that if everyone is agreeable?

Sure I would be. Magical Christmas Cruise seems to be the favorite so far. We could Put Disney Magic on the 2nd line and the date inside the wrist band all for a mere 97 dollars per 200. Wow thats a lot of left overs. We could find out who all wants them, split the cost and divide up the bracelets between those who are interested. I am thinking if even 10 people are interested its still less expensive than t-shirts.

Scooby I can set up a data base for those who are interested with the understanding that unless 10 people sign up we wont order them. What do you think?
