Well, my travel agent got a call from Disney telling her that the excursion I booked for Grand Cayman (the tour and the butterfly farm) had been cancelled.

I guess I'll be looking for tours of the island independent of the cruise....any nice ones out there that anybody knows of? LOL Guess I'l be surfing about Grand Cayman the rest of this week. ha

As posted earlier, we did the Captain Marvin's tour that included the turtle farm, 7 Mile Beach, rum tasting, etc. Others have reported that their Captain Marvin tour didn't include the rum, but ours did in June. The turtle farm alone is $30, and you still need transportation; our whole tour was $30. After the tour we had the choice of returning to the tender area or being dropped at Sea Grape or 7 Mile Beach. I've read that the butterfly farm is very close to the tender port, but can't verify this.

I spoke with a Dis-er who is on the cruise a week before we go. She was called today and offered an upgrade from an 11 to a 9 for $150!!!!! Pixie dust to all of us!

FYI....I just got a Budget rental car for the night before our cruise. Total with taxes, etc. was $40.80. The rental rate itself was $29.99. It's not quite the lowest I've ever seen, but it's not too bad......

In May I paid $46 TOTAL with all taxes, etc. for a mini-van. It held 6 with all luggage. Keep looking! On the deal I got, a "full sized 2 door or 4 door" is only $3 more than I paid. I used southwest airlines code U072732.

If the "full size" vehicle will fit you, go for it. I've been "upgraded" twice at the port to a mini van (from an economy) because they needed to get the van back to MCO! Less likely to get an upgrade at MCO, but....book the full and find a coupon for an upgrade (AAA magazine, travel magazines...I'll keep my eyes open for you). Then go with your printed confirmation and the coupon. Worst they can do is not honor it because you didn't enter it at the computer. DO sign up for the "frequent renter" program for whatever agency you use. It will save you MAJOR time at MCO.

We ended up with a 2+ week rental which was less expensive than a one week rental for post-cruise (we'll be gone from 11-27th with 19-27 in WDW). We'll park at Port. I just booked us a room at the Sheraton in Cape Canaveral for the 11th - 12th.

While checking again today for room assignments ( I know it is too early but I am running out of patience) I looked and they are once again booking CAT 12's for this cruise. Time for us to move on up. I hope. I am just to he point where I want to know where on the ship we will be. I loved the 12 we had last time but the waiting is killing me.

We're all getting impatient. All I know is that inventory control has been working on the cruise before ours--people have reported getting calls about paid upgrades on that sailing. We have 50something days to go....not much longer!!!

I don't see any Cat 12 rooms available for 4 people at the moment, but I do see them for 2 adults. Since they'd still want to charge me $800 additional to move to a Cat 11, or $1200 extra to move to a Cat 9, I'll stick with the 12 for now, thank you and hope that a lot of other people pay for the Cat 11 rooms so we'll move up higher.

I've been checking daily too. I can't wait!!!! I just want to know where we're going to be, Cat. 12 or otherwise. I need to finish our personalizations, but more than anything, I need to plan plan plan.

When do we start looking for them? 30 days out? 3 more weeks?

No, sorry. You have an actual rooms booked! And they're Cat 4 to boot! This fish extender list is only for those who booked GTY categories, preferably at Cat 12. We want to see how many Cat 12's we can book on a single cruise!

I ordered a fish extender and some pillowcases from the lady on ebay and they arrived today. The fish extender is the cutest thing ever!! Woo hoo! Now we're ready to join in the fun!

And the pillow cases came out great, too. The pillowcases we got have Phineas, Candace and Samantha on them (3 separate pillowcases.) They all turned out great!

Hopefully my fish extender gifts will last until the cruise! I was picked to host a DCL house party on Nov 14th and some of my FE gifts are looking a lot like party favors at the moment!
