December 11, 2011 Mexican Riveria

Merry Christmas to everyone! Thank you all so much for the wonderful FE gifts, it made Christmas feel like it was coming a little bit every day. We were very blessed to be able to book a couple of dummy dates while we were onboard and hope to be able to do Alaska in 2013, though Ryan really wants to go back to the Carribean on the Fantasy. Time will tell. Thank you all again so very much for helping make this cruise extra special. I hope your 2012 is wondeful!

Hi cruisers....did anyone purchase one of the beer packages on board the day you boarded? Just wondering what they cost and if it's really beneficial to stop and buy / carry on beer....

I didn't purchase the beer package but it's $14.95 to purchase the mug and they give you a token to show the bartender (so you don't have to lug the mug around and you get a fresh mug every time). You get 22 ounce fills for the price of a 16 ounce.

I know a few people that have purchased it and it was worth it. I think if you're going to be drinking at least 2 beers a day, it will be worth it. Hope this helps.

ETA: we brought our own liquor on with us and it was totally worth it! As long as you don't mind carrying it around all day (can't put it in your checked luggage) I say bring your own beer!

Hi all

We are finally home after over 7 weeks of travelling and I can assure you the cruise was the highlight of our trip.

Thank you to all of you for the lovely FE gifts that were left for us and the lovely hospitality and friendship shown by you. It really left a good impression on this family of Aussies!

I have started to unpack/sort out our 'stuff' collected over the weeks, and I can assure you my bedroom currently looks like a mess with stuff scattered everywhere waiting for a new home. Hubby and the kids shopped up a storm with clothing; myself, I put on too much weight and was too dejected to get undressed to try things on. But I did buy some nice tops at Disney. And the USPS has only lost one of the 4 boxes of stuff we shipped home. Annoyingly, it's the one full of books I received as Christmas gifts or bought for myself. Darn.

I am slowly getting around to sorting out my gazillions of pictures that I have taken, but now, for some reason, iphoto doesn't want to recognise my camera and when it does transfer of photos is very slow. I am hoping my camera wasn't damaged by the multiple times we went through security x-rays at the airports. It's happening to all of the SD cards I have put in and not just the one that was in it when we got home.

I shall be putting up photos and tales of my travels on my blog in the next week or so over time so please feel free to pop in and have a look.

I hope you all enjoyed your cruise. We loved it so much that we have decided to do another one late next year from Florida. We haven't settled on dates or itineraries yet, we just know we want to go. Although, we didn't book onboard at the time. Oh well. At least we'll be sailing again sooner than we had originally thought we would - we were planning on doing another in about 5 years or so.

Take care.
