December 11, 2011 Mexican Riveria

We are just about to make our trip down south. I will see everyone one on Sunday.

Woke up this morning a bundle of nerves and excitement. I can only imagine how I will feel tomorrow. Nightmares last night about missing the boat. :scared1:

:lmao: Me too, a few weeks ago. That's when we decided to stay the night in Anaheim so we don't have to stress for any reason.

We're leaving in a few hours to Anaheim! Wish us luck please...the car that we're taking acted up yesterday. It happens every 7-8 months or so, where I can't turn the key in the ignition. I was stuck for 40 minutes after an appointment and our mechanic came over to get it unstuck. He almost gave up after 15 minutes of trying and on one last try he turned the steering wheel as hard as he could and it freed up:worship: Turns out, we'll probably need to replace some type of cylinder, but i'm praying and hoping this doesn't happen this weekend.

I can't believe it :dance3:

After 2 days of running around like crazy, I only have organizing my cruise paperwork and packing left to do!

:cutie:

Usually when we go on vacation we are running around stressed because we have to get to the airport, weigh the lugguage, repack because we are running out of room etc.
today we are leisurely finishing packing and going to the hairdressers. So far the most stressful thing we have to do is explain to Jackson that he can only take a few of his favorite toys and decide which dvd's he will want.
We may even get a decent nights sleep and have a good breakfast tomorrow morning.

My plan for the morning is church and re-loading my iPod. Our port arrival time isn't until 12, and we're only about 45 minutes away.

As for the decent nights sleep, it depends on how quickly I (read that as we - DH & I) get the packing done. That's OK, though. I usually don't sleep well the first night in a different location other than my own bed. So if I'm a little tired the first night out, it'll help.

leaving home in less than 12 hours:cool1: we have check-in at 11. leaving Santa Barbara at about 8 and dropping 1 of our dogs off at a friends.

We are home from a wonderful trip. I want to thank everyone for the wonderful fe gifts. It really did add a great deal of pleasure to the trip. It was so nice meeting almost all of you and running into different people during the trip. I want to thank Barbara for organizing the exchange.

Hopefully we will cruise together another time in the meantime have a Happy New Year.

We made it home safely. The only reason I got off the ship today is we are sailing again in March. The only problem is it is not with Disney. My in-laws booked us a cruise on Holland :sad1:

We had a great time. Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful gifts. My kids thought Mickey was bringing them gifts. I enjoyed meeting you all.

HAL is a good cruise. We did Alaska with them in 2009. And we're doing a cruisetour with them in May. I'll give you, it's not Disney, but we enjoyed it.

Also from us, thanks to all of you for a fun trip and all the generous gifts.

:cutie:

Oh my, wasn't that so much fun!! It was a great experience, we had such fun we didn't want to leave.

Thanks for all of the the FE gifts, I still can not get over how many goodies we brought home :goodvibes they are all so wonderful & appreciated.

Many people asked us about the FE exchange and door decorations, they thought it was a great idea and wish they would have known about it, it was a magical experience for our kids, every time they open their bags they were so excited.

Congrats to Left Coast Lady & Surf2d14 on winning Bingo :thumbsup2, you guys score big time :yay:

It was so nice meeting you guys, I hope everyone had a great time. Thanks to Barbara for organizing the FE exchange.

Merry Christmas & God bless! :santa:

I know I will like HAL, I am worried about my kids. Do you think five year olds will like it?

We don't have kids in that group, so I have no experience with this. However, I have read reports that the kids clubs on HAL are quite good.

You might want to check over at Cruise Critic, they have a HAL forum there with lots of info. And you can ask more specific questions.

Back home and back to reality. :sad1: oh well I guess it had to come to an end.

I want to say thank you to everyone for the great FE gifts. We had tons of fun giving and receiving them. Some of you are very creative.

I wish we could take a cruise or vacation this week every year. It seems like Christmas snuck up on me.

Like the rest of you, my daughters (Lisa and Katie) had a wonderful trip. It was great to meet all of you on the first day, and then run into many of you throughout the week. I thought it was great that many of us ended up together at the Tea Party on Friday afternoon!

Thanks too for the special gifts. It was so fun to come "home" each time to a bounty of treats and treasures in our Fish Extender.

'til we meet again...

Sue

My trip was a blur of suitcases (one left behind at LAX), grandchildren (OMG, I had forgotten about 20 month olds and 3 year olds...and I never had any boys!), chocolate ice cream cones, kids programs (come and get your 3 year old), eating....we did not once make it through the dinner (the closest we got was when two of the grandchildren fell asleep in their seats), and so on. My daughter, who of course I love very much, got so bossy when we were packing on the last night, that I just dumped everything in the suitcase in the floor and told her to do it to suit herself. What a beast I was! I am calm now and we are all home safe and happy.

Sorry I did not get to meet you all and am happy I met those of you that I did. We got so many wonderful FE gifts. It gave the kids a great chance to slow down and watch for their gifties. Also I love to take them with me for deliveries. Helps them learn to give.

Happy Disney cruising to you all!

Barb

Aggh, back to reality.

It was so fun getting to talk to some of you guys! It's nice being able to meet face to face.

Did anyone rebook onboard??

We booked a dummy for 2013 so we'll see what cruise sounds appealing next. We were looking at other cruise lines last night, and I noticed that a lot of cruise lines don't allow bringing on alcohol. I'm not remembering which one, maybe Crystal Cruise, was the only one that allowed it with Disney. Makes Disney sound WAY better now, IMO.

We booked a 7 day Eastern Caribbean on the Fantasy on December 2013 but might change for a cruise leaving the West Coast (Alaska/Pacific/Hawaii) based on the schedule for 2012 - who knows what is in store for us West Coasters with the Wonder...:confused3

We almost re-booked a cruise, but the prices were so high for the same time next year. I wondered why?

Well, earlier this week, Disney cancelled the Dec 9, 16 and 23, 2012 Mexican Riviera cruises. No word on where the Wonder will be going instead, after it completes its final LA-Mexico cruise on December 2 of next year.

So now I'm especially glad we got the chance to do a holiday cruise out of LA!

We were looking at either a Eastern or Western in December of 2013 too! But that may be too long for DH. He's looking into next year already :lmao:
