December 11, 2010 7 Night Western Magic (Part DEUX)

Alrighty, all packed, kids are in bed, I will be up all night but I think we are ready!

8AM flights arriving in Orlando by 4. We should be to Epcot by 530 tomorrow! See you all at the port Saturday!:yay:

Good morning everyone.

We are getting a light dusting of snow today but not enough that it's going to stop us in our mission :thumbsup2

Looking forward to being on the Disney Magic tomorrow.

Key West today was great! DH loved his biplane ride (the one that buzzed the Magic around 1:45 pm was him). We walked around the pier area and got key lime ice cream. Yum. Almost time to head to dinner now and the show later tonight. Hope all are having a great time!

We missed the cruise meet because we didn't get aboard the ship till after 3:00pm. :sad2: we are having fun so far though. Rough night last night so I was up for awhile getting the kids settled. Looking forward to tonight's dinner at the animators palette. Hope everyone else is having a good time!

We missed the cruise meet too, slept right through it! (Well I did, anyway and no one woke me up like I asked!).
I met Shannon on CC at the 5K, but otherwise I have no idea if I met any of you fellow dis'ers the whole time! LOL. we'll have to post pics to see if we are sitting next to each other anywhere, haha.

Hoep you all had as great of a time as we did. I didn't think we could top our 2008 cruise but this one did! We rebooked a dummy date in 2011 and are awaiting hte release of the fall/winter 2012 dates for the Fantasy..

 Hello all.

We had a great time although it would have been better if the weather was just a bit warmer.

It was crazy wrapping up in blankets while sitting on deck, but heck, it was better than being at home.

It was nice meeting everyone at the DISmeet. I saw a few people around board after that and it was nice to recognize some faces.

Thanks also to everyone for the fish extender gifts. It was great fun to return to our cabin to find our extender stuffed with goodies:woohoo:

I was just wondering though if everyone received their fish extender gifts on Castaway Cay day:confused3 We did not get anything and I was wondering if we were just missed or if someone helped themselves to what we received?

Overall it was a great trip and now back to realty. Lots of snow when we got home last night.

I wasn't part of the fish extender gift exchange on this cruise but it wouldn't surprise me if your item was taken. We had our fish extender from a previous cruise hanging on our fish and it disappeared on Thursday afternoon sometime. I am guessing some child took it as it was all pink with Mickey Mouse on each pocket. I would hope a parent wasn't guilty.

We are finally home and I have started doing the giant mound of laundry!

It was great to meet everyone and see familiar faces, too. Thank you for the FE gifts. Just starting to get a chance to look at all the goodies. My kids really enjoyed checking the pockets to see what had arrived for the day.

We had a great time on our first cruise! Even with the rough seas and colder weather! The days we spent at Cozumel and CC definitely made up for it! We booked a 4 night on the Dream next December. I may need to start a new countdown....

Great Cruising with all of you.:thumbsup2
Even though it was a bit rough the first two nights. The last four days were awesome !
We had a noisy cabin at night the first two nights, coming from below our cabin on deck 2. There was loud music and Bass vibrating our porthole/ window and floor coming from below us starting at midnight till 2am, guest service made that better.

The FE gifts are grand. Thank you everyone!
We did not receive one on CC day either Robin.:confused3

Am having fun while unpacking all the FE goodies now. What great memories of the week gone by.

Hope everyone is well. We picked up a upper respiratory germ.
Rebooked on board for December 2011 on the Magic.:woohoo:

Will post more soon,

Mer and Susan

Inkmahm, I'm sorry to hear that your fish extender disappeared.

NCHuskers, I think the hot sauce in the fish extender came from you? I am sorry to report that I had it confiscated at the security check at the airport. I tried to slip it thru but it didn't work:guilty: We were doing carryon luggage only, so it was worth a try.

MerMade. That's too bad about the noise. I wonder if there was a crew area underneath your cabin and they were partying down there?

Interesting that you did not receive a fish extender gift on the same day as I did. I think they were not handed out.

I am enjoying looking over mine too although it's been too busy so far to have a good look. We had two Christmas's today.

The music noise could have been anything. We thought it might have been from a crew area. There was a party for crew members on Thursday night late. It was held on Deck 10. So it wasn't a crew bar below us like I thought.
But Guest services was great in making it stop once we reported it.
And they sent someone to our cabin every night after to make sure that there was no more noise. :)

Love cruising on the Disney ships. They make everything better.

Mer :cool2:

Hope everyone is well. We picked up a upper respiratory germ.

The kid in the cabin next to us hacked and coughed every night from 9PM to 2AM and I was determined to make sure my kids didn't get it. My two sicky poos are fine but I've got a sore throat and inflammed dingle bobber thingy so I must not have done a good enough job of hand washing! (or the germs seeped through the wall- I swear it sounded like he was coughing in bed next to me!)

We didn't get anything on CC day either, but we did get LOTS of wonderful goodies! My kids were blown away by all the great stuff, especially that we "know" someone in Canada and Australia!:lmao:

My daughter also came down with something near the beginning of the cruise. She ended up coughing and hacking too. She is feeling much better now though.

The first night at the theater there was some kid behind us, coughing and hacking thru the whole thing and not covering their mouth either :headache:

I'm so glad that the kids enjoyed their fish extender stuff. It was fun picking it out and delivering it late at night. We felt like Santa making our rounds. :santa:

so did anyone hear what the medical problem was that had us turn around at Grand Cayman?

I have to post the video of our kids getting the call from Mickey on Sat morning telling them we are cruising. They did exactly what DH said they would. Totally confused, upset that we weren't going to see Grandma & Granpa in a few hours, it goes on and on. Once we were sitting poolside with Pluto's chicken nuggets and ice cream the attitudes changed. I was really worried for a few hours though! Lesson learned, no more surprises for the Egan kids (DH says they are too much like Mom- always need a plan in advance!)

We are sitting at Grandma &Granpa's now and they are every bit as happy as they were on the cruise!

I heard that a man hit his head and that is why went back to port.

Andrea - I was wondering how the revealing of the surprise went for you! The kids got the best of both - cruise and the grandparents!

Robin - sorry to hear the hot sauce didn't make it thru security. I tried for weeks to find smaller bottles. Those things were heavy to carry. I hate when I get something planted in my mind and just don't give up on the idea.

I was wishing I was on the Magic as I went thru all my work emails today. It helped that I had the cd of Magic music.

A server told us that someone in a wheelchair wanted to go to the hospital but that he had seen that person and "she" seemed okay :confused3

I thought I'd at least try to get the hot sauce thru. I put it inside my mug that I bought onboard but unfortunately it was not meant to be.

I haven't listened to my CD's yet. I still haven't emptied all my trip stuff.

Sorry I haven't posted since we got home but I wasn't feeling well. Seems like a lot of us picked up something. First of all THANK-YOU to everyone for all the wonderful FE gifts!! Your generosity is amazing and it sure was a lot of fun everyday!!! Made our first cruise extra special! I didn't make it to the cruise meet either but did get to meet Mer and Shannon. :wave2: Maybe we will be able to cruise again someday, we had a great time! I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday!! Julie

I finally got to listen to my CD's.

I loved them. You both did a fantastic job with your music selections.:thumbsup2

The sickness finally hit our house, too. I took the kids to the doctor yesterday and they both have strep throat. :sick:They are still running fevers. :sad2: At least they on meds now and they will be back to 100% before Christmas!

The forecast for Raleigh is anywhere from a dusting to 18 inches of snow! I thought I lived in the South! Bring on the white Christmas weekend.:santa:
