December 11, 2008 - 3 Night Wonder

Hello All,

Good to see more people on this cruise!

I have to plead ignorance on the Fish Extender? Huh??

Disneyfan...you are from Garland? We are from Arlington!

Fish Extender. Outside your cabin door is a clip shapped like a fist. A fish extender hangs from it an allows fellow passengers to drop off goodies. You can fine people on ebay that make personailezed one. I think we paid 25.00 for our and it has the family name on it and characters embroidered on each pocket.

Hello!! We'll be aboard as well. Just DH and I. This will be our first Disney cruise. I have been on others, but it has been a long time and my DH has never been on a cruise. We'll also be headed to the World for a few days after we get back. We are soooo excited!!!! This will be part of my 30th B'day celebration. :santa: :beach: :cheer2: :jumping1: pirate: :cool1:

Hi! My DH and I will be on this cruise, our 1st, as well. While some of my friends think we're nuts to do a Disney cruise (as we are leaving our 3 DDs with my parents), I'll be celebrating my 40th (UGH!) on board and it was my pick. If Disney does its cruises as well as its parks and resorts, I'm sure I've made the right choice. :yay:

You have definately made the right choice! Glad to have you on board!

Wow I've lost count of the birthday celebrations. This is going to be a great cruise. Don't forget to sign up for the Fish Extender exchange. You can PM me with cabin information and a list of who is in the room Adult or child. For the Children please give ages so the gifts can be appropriate. Now what to buy for birthdays??? HMMMMM. Time to start planning. Is anyone else going on the AM Dolphin Encounter in Nassau?

Whee!!!!! I can't wait to start shopping! I have a school play and a renaissance faire to get through first, princess: then I can focus more on cruise stuff (of course I spend a lot of time reading the DISboards, so my costumes are not getting finished as quickly as they should be! :rolleyes1 )

Is it bad that my family and I were not even planning on getting off the boat in Nassau? The two activities that my daughter really wants to do in the Oceaneers Club are both on Friday -- at least according to the Navigators that are on line from earlier this year -- and I wouldn't mind taking advantage of an emptier ship to kick back and relax. Besides, if we don't visit Nassau this trip then that just means we have to take another cruise, Right? ;)

I really can't wait to meet everyone -- Counting down the days to a much deserved family vacation!

I don't know if anyone knows this but it is an interesting tidbit if you have a teenage or preteenage girl that the Jonas Brothers will be at the Atlantis
Dec.12-14. I got an email from the Atlantis concernig this. My teenager is bummed that we are not sailing that week.

Have fun on your cruise!

Hello!
We are also cruising on this date. It will be myself, DH, DDs (8&10) along with my MIL & FIL. We will also be celebrating DH's birthday on the cruise.

Wow! This is interesting about the Jonas Brothers being at Atlantis on Dec 12th -14th. My DDs would be thrilled to catch even a glimpse of them. Does anyone know if they will make appearances on Friday, Dec 12th? I would consider taking DDs to Atlantis if they could see them. If not, I will stick with my original plan to stay on the ship or a quick walking/shopping trip.

Counting down the days!

From the ticket information page on the Atlantis website, it looks like the actual concert is on Saturday the 13th. They are showing December 12-14 as a special weekend package that includes the Saturday concert.

Hey everyone! we are going on the 11 dec cruise and cant wait! we are flying from London, England, to orlando on dec 9th, then staying 2 nights at orbit one vacation villas in kissimmee, then the cruise! then 9 nights in a 4 bedroom pool villa with spa, then we go home on dec 23rd, arriveing early on christmas eve. this is our first trip to the USA, and untill a few months ago I didnt even know disney did cruises and had never considered doing one but now I cant wait and am obsessed! I am 31, and have wanted to go to disney world like my whole life, ive been to disneyland paris twice. Im coming with boyfriend, brother, 4 kids- DD13, DD9, DS4, and Ds 18 mths. We will be going to mickeys christmas party on dec 16th for my sons 4th birthday and have dinner reserved with pooh and friends, and also have cheif mickeys reserved the next day, and we plan to go to blizzard beach waterpark since we dont have water parks in England. We also have 7 day tickets to universal studios and islands of adventure. We plan on doing our christmas shopping in orlando and haveing the best ever christmas, this is really a dream come true for me and my kids. We booked 2 cat 12's but are hopeing to be upgraded! in disneyland paris we actually joined the parade and my daughters also went on stage at the tarzan show and mickeys christmas show! we're hopeing to get some special disney pixie dust on this trip too! Ive booked a manicure in the spa and want to try the rainforest shower, and jetski on castaway cay. my DD wants to do the teen wildside on castaway cay, we've also reserved palo on the last night, but plan to share a dinner with the kids at the regular dining resturant too. We were going to do the dolphin encounter in Nassau, but decided to just find a beach and do some shopping then go back to ship at around 3 pm for the kids activities. Ive reserved a birthday celebration cake, a silver pic frame, the binoculars and cd case, and the wine and petite fours/ choc covered strawberries, and am thinking about the romantic encounter robes/champagne/chocs. and a water bottle for my DS4 and minnie gear for DD9, it is christmas, after all!

Welcome Aboard Nikilee!

You are going to have a fantastic time.

I used to work at Disneyland Paris (1998-1999), so who knows...I may have checked your harness at Space Mountain or grouped you at Star Tours. My mother and I have also booked at Cat. 12 GTY and are hoping some Disney Magic (or in this case, Wonder) is spread our way!

How crowded do you think our cruise will be? Just curious...

From what I have read, there is no true way of telling how fully booked a cruise is. However, you can go to disneycruise.com and go through the motions of "booking" the same cruise (just close out of it before you actually pay for something!) and see what catagories of staterooms are still available and guess based on that. It is not an exact science by a long shot!
You can also check the cruise specials section -- if the date shows up as having a reduced rate for Florida residents there is a good chance that the cruise is not booked fully yet.

:rolleyes1 Then again, I have never been on a Disney cruise, and am just rambling to make myself sound smarter than I am!

Even if the cruise is completly booked I will still be really excited to be there wil the family!

Unlike the parks the ship has only so many passengers. While some of the pool areas can get quite crowded. There is plenty of room to move about and have a great time without being too crowded. Deck 10 is never as crowded as Deck 9 and offers some spectacular ocean views. I'm partial to watching the sun set. Deck 4 has some quite places to. You can sit in a chair and just listen to the ocean. I look forward to meeting everyone in December. Don't forget if you are interested in the fish extender gift exchange to get me your information by mid November so I can get the list ready. I have already purchased our gifts and can't wait. See everyone soon.

:goodvibes I am chomping at the bit to get started making our fish extender and shop for gifts for everyone! I have to hold myself back to get through my fall play and the local renaissance faire that I direct before I go full tilt at cruise preperations! I must tell you that it is awfully difficult to hold back in buying FE trinkets when I am out shopping for props for my shows!

WHEEE! I'm so excited to meet everyone and find an empty lounge chair and just RELAX! :cloud9:

See y'all real soon!

I am so excited! I just found DDs an outfit for Pirate night at Target this evening. I decided to check out the 50% off costumes. There were a couple of girls pirate costumes left. However, I found black t-shirts with pink glitter skull and cross bones with a tiara and matching leggings. My youngest is all excited and cannot wait to find a sword and eye patch to go along with her outfit.

This is so much fun!

Anyone in on the Fish Extender Gift Exchange please get me your cabin numbers so I can send out a list. You can PM or email me. I've been shopping and would hate to bring any gifts back home. I will email out lists this weekend for those who have responded. I will also try to figure out a good time for a meet onboard. Without a sea day it gets kind of hard. 5 weeks 2 days left.

Still no cabin assignment...

Hoping for some magic when it is assigned...
