LD, thank you for the instructions link.

D Freak, what a great idea it was for the picture frames. They turned out very nice. What information do you need us to send you?

I need you to pm your names (first and last), sex and ages of your children, stateroom number and email address.

Well, it's happened to me again. I get a thread of people that's awesome and I have to leave. :sad1: But, the good part is, DCL gave me back my Nov. 22 date and the voucher has been applied, and with a high schooler (who is taking a bunch of weighted classes next year) that is such a relief. We have the whole week off for T'giving, so we will be able to go without missing any school and still do some park time and probably even MVMCP. Their generosity is going to cost me, lol.

I hope you all have a wonderful cruise, and get to see the shuttle launch (how cool would that be?).

Oh, and LD Nurse, your FE is AMAZING. I hope I can get my new group to do them. So far there are only 3 of us on the thread, so we'll see. I so want to try it.

Have a great time! :)
Oh, we'll be sad you can't come with us, but happy for you that it worked out for your school issue!

Just finished my FE following the no sew instructions here on the boards. It turned out a lot more sturdy than i thought.

SO COOL!!!
Here are the instructions for the no sew FE. The heat n' bond works really well, once you read the directions!!!:lmao: I, of course, had to read them a few times. But when it COOLS, it is really tough. Good luck!!

Thanks for the link. I may still try it after all - even though I love the stocking idea! Maybe it will be a backup plan!

Wow! I hope you all don't expect me to be too creative!

DisneyFreak1 I pm'd you my info. Also I loved the picture frame, it was really cute. Don't know if I'm that creative though. I really like your fabric on your FE too. I was trying to go nautical with mine, but couldn't find fabric I really liked.

Thank you guys for the support on my FE. I am so not a Artsy person! But I did have alot of fun making it. Just to clarify though, on the no sew instructions, she listed 2 types of Heat N Bond--I only bought the hem.
I didn't really understand what the other was for...:confused3. I guess I didn't miss it anyway. The interfacing gave the FE some "Body", but you could also use quilting material.

DMMarla--thanks for the pics of FE gifts you got--gives me more ideas!!

Looks like people have been busy. The fish extenders look great. They are very creative.

We will have a great group of people on this cruise.

I am starting to think about door decorations. If you want to have them tehy need to be magnetic (can't use tape). On our last cruise I didn't like my decorations. They looked great but kept falling off of the doors. We laminated printouts we made on card stock and attached magnetic strips to the back - Mickey ears for over the room number, various pictures for the door. They curled easily and every time someone would walk by or open the door some would fall off. I have heard that the magnetic ink jet paper works great. You print out your images on your printer and cut them out. The entire back is a magnet. Has anyone ever tried it? Have any recommendations on where to purchase it? I saw the paper at Staples but it was $15 for 4 sheets. I wouldn't want to make too many mistakes at that price.

Also, we found some neat FE items at Oriental Trading. Keep an eye out for coupons. The dollar store is another good source.

We've used the inkjet paper before and it works very good on the doors - bit pricey though as you've found out. We've also been able to re-use some of the magnets from prior cruise. As we get ready for a cruise, we search online once in a while and can usually get it there for quite a bit less. Just searched Amazon and they have a vareity available- Avery brand at $9.97 currently. Not "cheap" but better than $15...I think I got some for around $7 for our last cruise and bought a few packs.

We arrange a variety of graphics on each page so we can get the most on each sheet we print out and then cut them out. Takes some time, but uses less magnet paper that way. Since it's inkjet and not laminated you will want to be a little careful so it doesn't get wet. Even if we don't need all of the space on a page we fill the white space with extra graphics and on our last cruise were able to share / decorate some other doors next to ours. pixiedust:

Hey Wendy!! It's Laurie from the 1/31-2/7 St Croix Cruise......looks like we'll be on another cruise together!! What a deal at 99 a person. Can't wait to meet up with you again.
Laurie :)

I used the magnetic inkjet paper for our Save The Dates last year and they worked great! So easy to use and ove a year later it is still stuck on my fridge! :thumbsup2

Thanks all for the magnet paper info. I'll keep my eyes open for some deals. Didn't think of Amazon, not sure why because I order everything else from them.

Good to hear they work well too - and last. I felt bad when the ones I had for our last cruise had to be thrown out.

so, I might be going on the Wonder in August as well, not sure yet, still talking to my dad about it, but since we got two vouchers for a 99 bounce back deal, my dad booked that cruise as well, now if only I can talk him out of going to the Baltic cruise is 2010 and going on a 7 day in March, along with going in August and December I am all set:goodvibes:lmao::cool1:

I know I am late in saying this but . . . wow!! This looks fantastic! You did a wonderful job, I'm very impressed.

I'm undecided about doing the FE, it looks like a lot of fun but I am not very creative at all. I'm also worried my DH will be annoyed by the time on the ship I spend on it and the amount of extra stuff I have to bring. These are big issues I have to work through! ;)

I've bought magnet paper from an eBay seller, I got 15 matte sheets for under $10 including shipping. I was happy with the quality. I also printed some of the magnets on heavy duty glossy photo paper and then for magnets, I found some business card magnets at Office Depot that had a peel off adhesive back and used those. That worked well for us.

Fairfax, I wouldn't stress about the FE. It's supposed to be fun-not stress inducing!! My DH is already wrinkling his nose at me!! But when I say DH--I really mean Disney Hater! My mom and I are doing the exchange anyway--probably before bed, so, i hope not to miss anything. I plan on taking my stuff in a suitcase and then bringing souvenirs back in it. I probably will only do one day of gifts, but it really depends on the number of people we have! I've already bought quite a bit of stuff--gotta stop! But I'm a first time cruiser--I see you've been alot!:thumbsup2 I probably won't have half the time available, as i think I will....But I'm learning!!

Thanks for the compliment on my FE--it was alot of fun to make!!!

Well, I have over seven months to get him used to the idea . . . I think my kids would enjoy this so much! Maybe I'll tell him, let me do my FE stuff and then he can go hang out in the sports bar for a while ;) He is also suspicious about meeting "people from the internet!" :lmao: Men.

I got the fabric for my FE yesterday!!! Woo hoo!! I got pink with white dots for the actual extender, then white with pink dots and white with blue dots for the pockets. I have the Disnehy Embroidery machine so i'm going to do the pockets myself. I have some Tinkerbelle designs that i'll do for DD, and i'll use our Lady and the Tramp design from our Vow Renewal welcome bag for our pocket. I just need something for DS's pocket....either Cars or Toy Story, maybe Wall-e. I just need to get another card.

Make sure you post a pic. I'm jealous that you can sew!!I can't sew on a button!!:lmao: It sounds like it is going to be really cute!! Can't wait to see it!!
