December 10, 2009 3 Night Bahamian Cruise

We will have 2 6yr old girls with us. Both cruised this past February. They were a little nervous about not knowing anyone but they had a great time. Everyone was very friendly.

We just booked out airfare and I got a great deal with Airtran. $124 round trip on a direct flight. I almost booked when the Jetblue rates came out but held off till pay day and the rates went up. The latest Airtran sale was better than the original JetBlue even paying $15 per checked bag. We should only be checking 2. All we have left is to arrange our transportation and our DisneyWorld tickets before the cruise.

Less than 6 months away - it will be here before we know it!

We will have 6 and 8 yr. old girls and a couple teen boys. My 8 yr old loved the oceaneer's club last time. The 6 yr old, not so much.

Thank you guys for the encouragement. I know he'll have a blast. Since he's an only child, he spends alot of time with grown-ups. I know he'll think its cool to have his own place on the ship. I just hope he'll want to spend time with his parents...We might not get to see him much!

We're booked on this cruise as well but am on a waiting list for knee replacement surgery & if it doesn't happen by September I will probably have to cancel as it would interfere with the dates. We're also booked for a 4 night B2B on December 6. We're not planning on participating in the FE this time as it's just myself & DH, although just want to say again that your picture frame was one of my favorite things.

Kind of a coincidence that the shuttle is due to take off on this date, when our meet n' greet was cut short by the shuttle landing on March 28.

My countdown is getting close to 5 months! Seeing as we booked this last June, I am so happy that it is getting closer.

Now, I don't want to wish away the summer, I wish summer would ARRIVE her in CT. We have had the worst weather lately....in the mid 60s cloudy with rain for about the past 3 weeks. It's horrible.

If this is the way that summer will be then I WILL wish it away so that Disney and the cruise will be that much closer!

I had a horrible experience with Delta/Northwest yesterday. I had booked my flights about a month ago and couldn't do seat assignments since it was an NWA flight and they don't do assignments untili 90 days out. However, I often like to check to see if the fares have gone down (I know, it would be painful to see if it did). The fares were only showing for FIRST class on our direct flights to/from MCO. But I could do seat assignments! So, I logged into my itinerary and what did I see??? They had changed both my DIRECT flights to CONNECTING FLIGHTS!!!!

I was sooooo mad! I immediately called Delta and as calmly as I could explained the situation (being on hold for 10 minutes to reach a live person didn't help my state of mind). I told her it was unacceptable to change a direct to a connecting flight. I book direct for a reason. She moved me to the direct flights (same times, but they had changed flight numbers) and even did my seat assignments.

I then called our friends who are going with us so they could change as well. UGH. Luckily we got it fixed without an additional fee, but that was scary, especially when we didn't even get an email saying they changed our flights! What if I hadn't checked until it was too late? That would have made me REALLY REALLY angry.

Anyhow, all is well today....5 months and 10 days to go...... trying to be patient with the waiting, and waiting, and waiting....

I feel your pain with the weather. I work in Boston and commute home to Rochester, NY each week. It has been a miserable June. I live in Rochester, NY and the weather there seems to be getting better - sunny and low 80s so hopefully the good weather will head to New England. My flight home last Thursday was a disaster - arrived home at 1:30 am for my 8pm arrival because of weather delays.

You are smart to keep an eye on your flights. I have had some weird things happen in the past with getting flights changed on me. I hate flying anything but direct and will pay extra to do so, especially when I am headed out for vacation. We are flying Airtran this time. I have had them do some pretty crazy things with the schedule in the past so I am keeping my finders crossed and my eyes open.

Wow, that stinks about the airlines messing with your flights! I have heard of others with that problem. I am about to book for our trip and will be really careful to keep checking between booking and trip time!!
Everyone remember in less than 5 1/2 months we will be CRUISING!!!!

I got my surgery date booked for August 18 so looks like I can make the cruises! We're doing a B2B starting Dec 6. I will be mobility impaired though & my husband is not a participator so think we'll still pass on the FE.

I am wishing the summer away. It has been 100 for a couple of days now. That doesn't normally happen until late July or earlu August. And it is humid. I feel like I melt every time I go outside. So, I'm ready for some cool Bahama breazes! I, too, booked last June and man am I ready.

Sorry about airline trouble. At least you got it worked out. We are gonna drive, since airfare is not going to get any cheaper. We'll spend a day in Destin before our land and sea vac starts. I'm really getting excited!!!

It was beautiful in Rochester today but crappy weather is on the way and will be here for the remainder of the week. Keeping our fingers crossed about the holiday weekend. I hope the rest of the summer will be decent.

I know at least a few of our fellow cruisers will be going to WDW before or after the cruise. We will be at Old Key West from Saturday Dec 5 -10. We want to get to the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT, the Osbourne Lights at Hollywood Studios and the new Hall of Presidents at the Magic Kingdom. Hopefully Space Mountain will be open by then too.

I think for the cruise we just plan on relaxing for 3 days.

It ended up being a nice day yesterday and today is starting well. We are expecting pop up thunderstorms every afternoon/night until Friday. I can deal with that as long as we get nice weather for the long weekend.

Weekday weather - I want it to be nice for my kids at camp, but for me, sitting in my cube without a window....weather doesn't matter.

Getting close to the 5 months mark - WOO HOO!

It is 65 degrees today!?!?!? WTH Happened to summer? It was 94 last week!

We will be at the Ft Wilderness from 12/5-12/10 before we sail!

Yup, summer came and went from MN. The highs haven't even been 70 for two or three days!

We'll be at BLT from 12/6 - 10. (and maybe 12/5 at AKL if I can get a deal) Hoping to do all the Christmas type stuff and then relax on the ship.

Does anyone have their FE yet? I remember seeing one posted, but wondered if anyone else had theirs yet. I finally got some new cards for my Embroidery machine and hope to work on it this weekend!
