Dec. Wishes at 6pm?

Just checking out hours to make some adr's in December and noticed that they have Wishes scheduled on the MVMCP nights at 6pm before the party starts at 7. Is it dark then in December? This just seems really early to me. Also, can anyone tell me what time the fireworks are during the MVMCP? Thanks to all for any help you can give!

I think it's relatively dark by then. The MVMCP ones are at closing, or at least I think. We tried to stay away from Magic Kingdom on the days that we weren't going to the party.

Remember around Dec. 21 is the shortest day of the year, so the sun is setting by around 5:30 at that time.
