At collegeboard.com, with your child's username, they can get their scores now. I thought I'd have to pay $8.00 to get them early but they were free. I think they don't get mailed until Jan. 2. It was a good early Christmas present for DS:hyper:

Congrats to your DS!! :sunny:

I just mailed the registration for my DS12's SAT registration this morning. He's taking the SATs on January 24th. He's only in 7th grade, so it'll be interesting to see how he scores!:magnify:

SeaSpray..mine is 13! He took it last year as a 7th grader and he increased 110 points this year as an 8th grader. It is very interesting to see what they can do at such a young age. Which program is your DS in? Mine is with Johns Hopkins.

Same here. My son's the same age and same grade as your son. I have to make a trip to the post office in the morning to get the form mailed.

My son wants to take the SAT to see if he can get into the John Hopkins program. I just want him to get used to the format so that he's not worried about it when he takes it in the 11th grade.

My DS is with the John Hopkins program too :)

disneyjunkie: The John Hopkins program sends your child a lot of information in the registration packet, such as sample tests that have been used in the SATs before, so they'll know what to expect when they're taking the actual test. They also explain exactly how some of the word problems work. It was a $30 fee for the John Hopkins program, in addition to the SAT fee, but I believe it was worth it for all of the information they've sent us beforehand. Your son is taking it on January 24th, as well?? I hope both our DSs do well!! :)

When mine took it the first time he said it was actually kind of fun!

He qualified for all the summer opportunities last year and will this year also, but he never decided to do one. There was one distance learning course he wanted to do this school year, but completing Algebra was a requirement, and he is in Algebra I this year, so maybe he'll select that from the catalogue that will come this summer.
