Ok I've been reading alot about weather in Dec. being cold and rainy and I'm starting to think I should quickly book for May instead. We've gone in May twice and loved it but thought we'd try something new. I was really excited about the Christmas party but now I'm getting nervous that the weather might not be so good and we won't be able to swim. I'd love to hear from anyone who wants to share their experiences with me so I can finally make up my mind. Thank you so much. :confused3

We've been both times and preferr May 10 times over. Dec can be iffy. Our weather in Dec was awful. We wore our winter coats & gloves the whole time. I'd much rather go in May when I know it is warm.

We've never had rain at WDW in december. But we have had cold. I can remember having to buy gloves and hats for the kids because I didn't pack any. So I would say May definitely would be my first choice. We always go in May every year. The crowds usually aren't too bad and the weather is warm but not too hot. Only one May can I remember it being really super hot. It was about 3 years ago and we had temps in the upper 90's. But usually May isn't that bad. :sunny:

I just have to add that what makes WDW so special in December is the decorations and all the special Christmas stuff. You've got MVMCP at MK, CP at Epcot, Osborne Lights at MGM, those are all really amazing things to see. :) So even though it can be cold, it has a really Christmas spirit. :)

we just went this past Dec and were very disappointed with the weather we had.....only 1 real 'swimming' day surrounded by 9 days of rain and chilly temps. Having said that, I was still glad we did Disney at least once at Christmas.

The one good thing that came of that Dec trip is everyone was pretty bummed out about the weather, so it gave us an excuse to go back next month (late April/early May). The more I read, I think May will be our new Disney time to go.

We have been at both times and each one is great, it just depends on what you are wanting. We went this past Nov/Dec, because we: 1) had never been at that time of the year; 2)wanted to see all of the holiday festivities and 3) our last trip had been July, and we sure wanted to avoid that HEAT :thumbsup2

The last time we were there in December was 1996. We are looking forward to going there again this December - mainly for the Christmas events. It is so magical! I've never been in the beginning of May, but I was there for Memorial Day weekend in 2001, and it was too hot for me! There is something magical about being at Disney World for Christmas!
