Dec flights with southwest

I thought I would start this thread because so many ppl are going in Dec on southwest. Lets work together to get a great price. I am waiting for a bit to book. I have ding too so hopefully something will come through.
Should I book at the higher price and then change it when it goes down or wait ???

Yes, book it as soon as you see it, if you know your dates. If you wait, it will be gone before you know it. When you get the Ding, then change it to a Ding fare.
If you need help, just post it.

I'm waiting. We went last Dec and didn't book until late summer or Sept. I think we paid about $59 each way. Unless you are going right near the holidays then I would book, for early Dec it's not that popular a time.

We are going Dec 3 to 10. Flying out of Buffalo on SWA.

I booked the tickets out. I thought $94 was fine. Coming back is too much. I will wait to see if it gets cheaper. If it goes under $100 I will book.

Though I did see that flying from Tampa to Buffalo is something like $87 right now. Might be worth it. Not sure. Anyone have experience flying out of Tampa?

I am not going to worry too much about a ding. I haven't seen much for Sunday flights. Besides, I don't think I would use the credit anyway.

If you fly in to Tampa, sometimes the car rental rates are much higher. So you might want to pay a little more on your flights to save on your car rental. Tampa is a nice airport!

I have been watching the SWA prices for my return flight, hoping that they would go down, but yesterday they went up.

Now to-day I see that there are missing a whole column that they used to have "internet prices" that were the cheapest prices...

Is it just me?

yes I noticed the same thing on Saturday and was glad that I have at least booked my flight for southbound. Leaving on 8th coming back on 11th.
we shouldn't loose hope though cause I saw a ding toady for Sept that was 39 -49 GREAT news eh? Lets just hope one pops up for Dec.

I think that the internet row will be back with their sale that starts on Tuesdays. I honestly think it will go back down again. I got it for $73.49 and I am sure it will go lower than that!
I am however waiting for them to release their dates until the 15th.
The people on flyer talk think it will be on the 17th of August. So I will keep checking!

Last year when we went to Disney we got our tickets for $75 per person roundtrip taxes in! it was 26.98 p/p + taxes!
there is hope of a better price then 144 each way, I am sure you will get it lower!

I got in on that Mousy thanks. I wonder if I should book return at the higher price or watch for it to come down or for an internet special or a ding rate?? What does everyone say???

Very happy that I got my flights at $59. It is an earlier flight than I wanted but could not pass up the savings (for a few hours).

Oops - I'm an idiot! I should have rebooked my flight down to orlando and used the credit to book my return flight. I guess I will just try to rebook and try to get the credit back...

I called SWA and they walked me through and let me rebook the first leg and apply the credit. So I got both flights at the $59 internet rate.

Whew. Glad that is over with!
