Dec. 7, 2008 4 nite Mousefest Cruise - who's all going?

Have been having computer problems so I apologize for the delay in getting back to you.

We have not really come up with any details yet, and I guess we should.

So for all those interested in the Fish Extender gift exchange as of now we have about 12 families inerested what is the preference, have one large group where all cabins exchange with each other or should we limit the groups to say 5-10 cabins?

I do not mind doing seperate lists, so that there is a sub group of people who want to limit the number of cabins they will deliver a small gift too, and another one that wants to do eveyone one. To make it fair each family would only be on one list.

Please let me know how we want to handle this going forward as I am sure that some people would like to start working on this.

Welcome Jen, Stephanie and Donna,

I will add you to the list of cruisers joining us on the first post, as well as any others who have joined that I may not have added yet.

We are starting to get a nice sized little group for our gift exchange. I am sure more will join too as they join our group. I am open to doing the gift exchanges which ever way works best for all. I know when we did the gift exchange this last Dec. Our group was broken down into 3-4 groups. Each had 6 cabins each on the list and we just had to buy for those on our list. We had it where we bought one gift per cabin, but gave small little gifts, food items to the children in the cabins. That was nice because then the children got something extra special. We did ours for 3 nights Mon, Tues and Wed. Are we going to do it that way or do we want to do a Sunday nite too. If our group gets too big, we may want to split up into smaller groups to help keep costs down. Just something to think about, though I know it it hard when you want to buy gifts for everyone that we've been writing to the last several months. What would everyone else like to do?

I am getting so excited for this cruise. We just received some DCL info for this cruise in the mail and it got me even more excited!

I have to really start working on my fish extender and door magnets.

We're getting pretty excited too. I got a fish extender on and Ebay and it came in the mail this weekend. My DD picked it out, its a tink one. Now I just need to hide it because she is DYING to hang it in her room. Which is fine after the cruise. But not now because i know it will get too much wear and tear. hehe

Now I need to figure out tha magnet thing. How does everyone do them. I would love some instructions, and maybe i can figure them out for myself.

I just got my ship and shore vacation guides yesterday! One more step closer to Mousefest and my cruise!

It seems surreal. I've always dreamed of going on a cruise, especially Disney, and now it seems more official.

Hello to all the new comers its awesome that our group has continued to grow. I have not been on in a while, I have been working extra to be able to finish paying off the mouse .

WE also got the package with the excursions last week OMG how excited were the boys, they have it on the table and look at it a few times a day.


Vicki I read your suggestion about the gift exchange and it sounds fine. I am also ok with whatever the general consensus is.

Welcome and I am going to try to answer your questions.
You don't need to make reservations for dinner but you do pick early seating or late seating. You do need to make reservations if you want to have dinner @ Palo's.
You can make reservations ahead of time for Nassau and Cataway Cay, you will be getting a packet with all the excursions they offer and they send dates as to when you can start to book the excursions. I also think you can register the kids online for the kids clubs or you can do it when you board.

Agreed! If only I could have gone for Epcot's food and wine festival.

I think it is up to you, some families have not indicated the number of people in their room, so a gift per room is fine and if there is a family that you have been chatting with and want to do per person that is fine also.

It is almost September, time is going so fast.

Hi everyone--here's hoping you are all enjoying your summer. We just got back Sat. from a trip to WDW. WE stayed at Fort Wilderness and experienced some of Tropical Storm Fay though we didn't get the flooding..it still rained everyday and at times was windy. The parks weren't too crowded and we had lots of fun!

We are really looking forward to Dec. Just over 3 months to go

mkmommy--have we decided yet how many people/cabins per group for the secret santa game yet? Just wondering, since I wouldn't mind starting to buy little gifts for the game. We have 2 connecting cabins and there are 6 of us. 2 adults and 4 children in case you need to know with help planning for the game.

I am sad to say but we will not be joinging all of you. We are just devastated. But we found out yesterday that my sister has a brain tumor, the surgery is scheduled for the 2nd of September and recovery time can take up to 10 weeks. So we are going to reschdule the trip.

The boys are very sad that they will not meet their friends that they have been communicating with for the last few months.

I will be thinking of all of you and I wish you the very best time on the cruise. I hope that one day we can sail together.

I am so sorry about your sister. Your sister and you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. We also hope her surgery is successful. We are also sorry you wont be able to cruise with us. I think we have about 12 families so far, and I think if it grows much larger that we should consider splitting into smaller groups. I am thinking anything larger than 15 we should split, so that would mean the maximum anyone would buy for is 15 cabins. If we end up with 20 cabins we would split into 2 groups of 10. It is a short cruise and I assume no one wants to spend too much of their cruise delivering gifts.

I was just counting days and I guess Suite guests will be able to book excursions soon, it is hard to believe how fast it is coming.
