Dec 28, '04 - ONE WEEK from today we'll be "fill in the blank"

Question for anyone in the know -- I thought I read somewhere that there was a Princess Tea or Tea with Alice in Wonderland and that the kids can get dressed in their "Princess" clothes. Did I dream this up or is there such a thing?

I remember a Tea with Wendy but that might of changed since last March. As far as dressing up, I can't answer that one. Maybe ask on the main cruise board. Kathy

There is a tea, I think you sign up when you board in the same place you do Palo reservations? I've never done the tea

Girls dress up for everything - it's very fun and I would say at almost every dinner you'll see little girls in princess outfits - it's adorable!

Wonderful news! I know that she will like to wear one of her dresses for a dinner and was hoping that there was something special just for the kids. The challenge of packing everything begins ...

I GOT MY DOCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At home today with a sick DS (viral per the dr.) so we ran out to see the doctor and grab some food and they were under the mat out front when I got back. Now, I have to enforce "rest time" this afternoon so I can open them!

We are still waiting for our docs. I called our TA and she has not seen them yet. She was going to call DCL but I haven't heard anything yet. She said all of their docs for every cruiseline are running late for cruises around Christmas and New Year's. Kathy

3 weeks from RIGHT NOW we should be standing in line waiting for the doors to OPEN!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Is anyone else staying atthe Orlando Airport Hyatt? We will be there the night before... last time UNLV23 and I were there, we were riding out Hurricane Francis :umbrella: and hoping that our cruise was not cancelled...! We were there for 5 days...! What a trip... I HIGHLY recommend the Crawfish Chowder :drinking1 in the restaurant at the Hyatt, it is VERY good.... also, ask for Monica, she is a great sever... Now if her boyfriend was not the assistant manager... hmmmm.... lol....

So, what excursions do y'all have planned? :cool1:

We will be staying at the Poly for 2 nights before the cruise. The Hyatt is fantastic. We usually stay there the night before.

Our TA has our friends docs but not ours. Disney told her she won't get them until Friday! Gee, the more you cruise with Disney the later the docs are coming. Oh well, I just hope they get here so I can wrap them up for Christmas since the cruise is our daughter's main present.

Kathy

Hi LegalBriefs! For the two nights in the Orlando area, prior to the 28th, we will be at the new Omni Champions Gate. It apparently just opened in October, hence no reviews. I do hope that you enjoy your time at the Hyatt as much as last time. Our family is doing only one booked excursion, Captain Marvins in GC (with the help of MasonPips, we were able to book this one). In Key West we will meet up my brother, who also lives in Canada, and go to a beach to do some snorkelling. I have heard that there are a few great sandal stores downtown that I can leave some money at, so that will also be on our to-do list!
I am looking forward to hearing what ideas everyone else has.

Hi...We are going on the 12/28/04 cruise also. I've been reading the cruise boards for a couple of weeks. We had to cancel our October WDW trip, and planned this cruise / trip a few weeks ago using DU. We have not received our Docs yet. It will be me, my DH, DD (18) and DS (11). We will be leaving Wisconsin on Christmas morning and spending 1 night at the Dolphin and 2 nights at the BWV before the cruise. Planning to go to the parks 12/26 and enjoy the resort 12/27. We've been counting down the days to the cruise / trip with Disney Dollars in our advent calender since I couldn't keep it a secret until Christmas. My daughter is a senior in H.S. and plays travel softball all summer, so this is our last big family getaway before she heads to college next fall. We are soooo excited! This is our first cruise and first trip during Christmas vacation.

We stayed at the Hyatt in the airport the first night of our trip last spring break since we got in late...loved it.

Welcome Wimom02!!!! It's great to see another face here.

I don't know where we're staying yet! We're at the MCO Marriott on 12/26 via Priceline (the day we arrive) and then we're debating MCO Airport (via priceline) hotels or Port Canaveral - we plan to do Downtown Disney on the 27th as we have the parks post-cruise when there will be less crowds.

We have Captain Marvin's booked with jestyx3 and someone else I think (plus my friends from Tampa) and will do one of the beaches in Cozumel I think - either Paradise or Mr. Sanchos - nothing planned for Castaway but relaxing and the same for Key West - we don't plan to leave the ship much in Key West; possibly do a bit of shopping

We got our documents today! :cheer2:

Perfect timing. We celebrate Hannukah and tonight was the first night. So the timing was perfect.

We are also doing the Captain Marvin's with the rest of the gang.

We got our docs from the travel agent today!

Question for Masonpips: You said you have been the first in line at the cruise terminal before. What time did you arrive? Do you know what time the port opens to traffic? I had heard it was 10am. I would like to be one of the first ones there. Especially if I have to make my own ressies for brunch and high tea. We missed out on tea the last 2 times. They didn't seem to have very many slots to begin with. Would appreciate any info.

Kathy, did you get my info that I e-mailed to you? How are we going to know if there is going to be a formal get-together? I know we are meeting at the deck party, but have we confirmed anything with LegalBriefs and his "suite party"?

Can't wait to meet all you guys, but we will feel a bit strange as we have no children yet. I hope we get seated at a big table. The more, the merrier, I say!

We drove up about 10 or 10:15 and were the 3rd of 4th car in line. Dh dropped us off and then took the luggage to the porters so when we got to the top of the escalator there were only 1-2 other people wandering about. We hightailed it for the line and put our stuff down - the check-in counters weren't even open yet. Once they opened, I checked in while the kids held our spot in line.

Similar situation the next year but we were second. I think if you're in the top 50-100 you can pretty much get the exact time you want for Palo (except REAS may change that if a lot of people have booked it). I don't know about the Tea, not sure how many folks they let in for that.

I'm hoping to be there no later than 10:30 this year - I feel much more relaxed since we did REAS.

Myfourkitties, I don't know about another meet with DIS' people in Mr. LegalBriefs room. He will have to decide on that but we can always hope he will share a view of the cat. 1. The other cat. 1 also has a DIS member if I remember correctly. I need to check my list.

Yes, I did get your information. You sent me your names and address and phone number but I didn't know if you wanted me to add that to the list. I did add your stateroom. Just let me know if you want the other items added because I will do that.

Still no docs for us. I am beginning to think it is because we really are not on an official land and sea package. We have nights at the Poly and then we are off on the 7 day Magic.

Did everybody see the post that you can sign up children for the programs in ther terminal now?
Kathy

I saw the post about signing the kids up at the terminal. That will be great!

LegalBriefs - How are we doing on the DIS meet in your Cat 1? Did you get my e-mail?

Thank you, Masonpips and tecdavidt.

To Masonpips: I hope to be right behind you in line. Or maybe in front. I'll be the one wearing Eeyore ears!

To tecdavidt : We don't have an official land and sea package either, but my TA got our docs on Friday and I received them yesterday. Maybe you should call again... I certainly am nervous for you. I am the world's most obsessive preplanner, and I like to have everything as soon as possible and have my itinerary ready. Now if I could just apply that theory to packing.... :teeth:

Did anyone find out why we leave Key West at 7:30 instead of 10:30?

tecdavidt: Can you fill me in on where the list can be found and what it's for? (Sorry, I'm having a blonde moment!) Just put the same info for us that you are listing for everyone else. Didn't really know what you needed so I threw in the kitchen sink!
