Dec 27/08 NYE Western Cruise - Really New Thread

Hey everyone..

The FE list will be out on Monday... first thing. Kathy.. I just have to check how much stuff I have.. I lost track.. of course! lol

Anjelica.. your brother sounds amazing. Truly. I hope for him that he gets those parts in ASAP so that he can start walking around on them... I also hope that he gets to enjoy the holiday at home w/family and loved ones... nothing helps the soul more. I know he doesnt know me.. but send him my love and gratitude.

I was going to ask you the same thing. Our plan is not to let Owen check himself out, this will be our first ever cruise and we wouldn't feel right not knowing where he is.

I think Owen and Wil will get along great, he is excited to meet Wil.

Owen was telling me last night that he couldn't wait for vacation so he could go swimming. I explained to him how crowded the pools on the ship would be, but promised to get him in everyday at WDW before the cruise.

It's always a sad day in the fall when we close up our pool for winter. Here is our little showoff in action.

love the pool shot!!!

Molly and Wilson will swim everyday, and the pool isn't that crowded, don't sweat that part. We did let them have check out on the last cruise (our 2nd) and I got really comfortable with it. But totally understand not wanting to on your first because you haven't seen it before. I really like the kids having a buddy and NEVER going anywhere alone. Mine don't have free run. We agree on what they will do ahead of time and they can do it. And never into anyone's elses stateroom. It might be we are in the spa and they want to swim or see a movie and that stuff is okay with me. Also you can change the privledges while on board so no sweat. If my kids blow it they know I'll yank their privledges, cuz I'm mean :rolleyes1

Hey Guys,
Can I join the FE group at this late date?
There's just 1 (me) in the cabin.
I think I recognize some of you from the TransAtlantic cruise - I helped with the Banner! :wizard:

Kathy

Hi Kathy; I always make up extra, so you are in with me! Which transAtlantic were you on? We were on the Westbound one in August of 2007.

Greetings from Fairfield Oh - where it is cold cold and getting colder

Had dinner with mil and her sister tonight and exchanged Christmas gifts - saves me a ton of postage

Not sure what I have left in regards to FE - will have to check when we get home - I know I don't have a couple of things

Will be up at the crack of dawn to get to the swim meet -we are a little farther away from the pool than we normally stay - but it is saving me like 200.00 in hotel charges - more to put in my drink of the day fund

Have a great weekend all - at least there is internet here at hotel - but it is slowwwwwwwwww

Molly got the part of GRANNY (of little red riding hood) in her school's production of INTO THE WOODS...Proud mama momment, and be warned that's all you will her her singing for the week you are with her. Better than me I'll have to hear it for 3 months.

Off to scrap now

bye :dance3:

Kara will be in the pool as much as possible - she will be the one doing laps - 3 strokes turn 3 strokes turn

Congratulations to Molly! I LOVE that play. Our high school did it a year ago. She can sing the songs to me all week long. Maybe I'll join in with her. No, that would just be torture for her!

Ok - got the meet/greet posted on the front page of the website. Updated some excursions folks sent me (everyone else check and make sure I didn't miss anything ->
http://www.themcmurphys.com/2008_NewYearsEve_Excursions.html

Kathy - I got your information out there as well so let me know how that looks (also added you to the FE list). If there is anything else anyone can think of for me to update let me know.

For those going on the Native way excursion in the Grand Cayman - I did receive confirmation back from Native way but can't forward you the email till I get back on my desktop (having to work off my laptop tonight). I brought up meeting prior to getting off the ship (this way if someone is sleeping in "ahem - Orlanr" then we can go beat on their door). We need to meet Nativeway at the pier no later than 915ET - I suggest we meet a 845ET on the ship - but was looking for a good place to meet (I don't recall where we get off on the ship for Grand Cayman, etc.) - suggestions?

Curious what you all think will be our plan for din din. I'm sure we will be grouped together, because the biggest table I saw (& sat at on the repo) was ~14. Will we just have a first come first sit rule??? I know on our last cruise we liked to mix up our seats to talk with different friends each night, and therefore the first come worked well. Everyone ok with that???

I'm fine with whatever. I'm sure the first night we need to sit at our assigned tables to take into account who we have got where (i.e. 6 people at this table, 10 at this table, etc.). If we want to stay/move - doesn't really matter to us as long as we know in advance. This way I can put Sean (my now two year old son) with someone else - that way they can get the full on effect of eating next to a two year old (did I mention neither his father nor I will sit next to him while he enjoys his new friends - LOL)

Kathy:

We did decide a little while back to close the FE groups because people needed head counts to buy stuff. With that said I'd like to suggest that of course you are welcome to give the gifts (duh) and can we add a supplemental to the first list because some of us do have extras to pass out.

Just want to make it clear that some people already purchased their stuff and we can not make it their job to get more at this late date.

Powers that be, what do you think???? (kelly, that's you the list keeper):rolleyes1

I completely understand.:flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: I'll be happy to bribe as many as I have to. pirate:

I was on the EastBound cruise in 2007. That was a heck of an experience, right?

been there done that not going back :scared1: I'm sure he is a cutie and actually Molly is loving little kids right now, so perhaps she will take a shine to him and entertain him...for a while anyways, until it's time to swim :rolleyes1

Good Morning...well i'm the only one up...everyone else is still sleeping....of course they all went to bed waaaayyyy later than i did!!!

my calender reminded me that there is only 2 wks left before boarding our beautiful Magic for the cruise of a lifetime...

Kathy - i think i have an extra FE gift...so you're in with me...i still need a Fish Extender:rotfl2:

I'm up... and killing time on the 'puter instead of actually getting to my massively long To Do list!

I had big plans to make a fabulous FE. Didn't happen.
I'm going with this one:

http://disneyshopping.go.com/disney...1__Accents-Mickey-Mouse-Christmas-Card-Holder

Definitely more Christmas than New Year, but still in the spirit of the holiday season. Right?

I decided to pack up a box and send it to the port in advance. It ended up being so heavy I would have been better off bringing an extra suitcase and paying the darn excess baggage fees... you know, the ones they charge if you bring much more than a toothbrush.

Oh well, one less thing I'll have to schlep around with me. Hopefully my big, heavy box will be waiting for me on the Magic. Otherwise Kathy may be the only one who gets a FE goody from me since I mailed all the others off in the box. ;)
