Dec 27/08 NYE Western Cruise - Really New Thread

Good morning,

Brenda, very cool door signs! I love the colorful paper. I should try to use my CM software to do mine, but so far I'm doing it by hand on magnetic paper. You've inspired me now.:thumbsup2

Is anyone starting to feel overwhelmed by Christmas and the cruise so close? Next weekend I'm going upstate to see my mother who's leaving for North Dakota for 6 weeks. She'll be helping my brother and his family pack for their move to England. (God help my poor brother!)

Then the weekend after, my sister's family and my daddy are coming from upstate to celebrate an early Christmas with us. I'm not too thrilled about it, because it'll mean cooking and entertaining, and I really wanted to chill out and do last minute cruise stuff.

I have our church Christmas Pageant on the 21st, and my 4th graders need so much more practice in addition to getting the class lessons done by Christmas break.

My other brother wants to use my dog to be a reindeer when he plays Santa next week for some developmentally delayed adults. So I have to get Brian used to wearing the antler hoodie! Wish me luck!

I have to go through my FE gifts, as I see on Anjelica's list that we have some new people added.

I have to write Brian's feeding schedule for Mel so he'll feed him on time. He eats 4 small meals a day.

I still have to get Cory's travel authorization notarized, well my bro or SIL have to do this, but they need a push. Also I need them to make a copy of Cory's Passport, as we leave the originals in the safe on the ship and take the copies with us in the ports.

I have to find some sunblock, which I haven't seen in the stores, but I'm sure it's somewhere in the million stores here.

I have to get Jesse to his nose-surgery doctor before we leave, for his 1 year follow-up appointment.

I have to make my eyelash dye appointment so I won't look like an albino on this cruise.

I have a few more Christmas gifts to buy, the most difficult being a bottle of Scotch for my parish priest who likes a specific rare kind. But he's so good to us, that I'll do what I have to to find it for him.

Brian finally goes for his final shots on Wednesday, so we can begin outdoor potty training and visits to the doggie park. That'll wait until after the cruise, since I think it'll be easier for Mel to just pick up and replace the soiled peepee/poop pads that Brian uses than to take him out.

Tonight I have to pick up a larger crate/kennel for Brian, since he is too big for his original one. He'll need to be put in it when Mel goes to the gym and tennis. I found a brand new one on craigslist. I'm donating his old one to a local animal shelter, and I'll drop it off on the way tonight.

And today I have to call the Parkinson Disease organization to come pick up my minivan which I'm donating to them. It has to be done this month in order to get the tax credit for this year.

Then I have to book Chad on a flight to North Dakota to pick up our new minivan that my brother is giving me, since he can't take it with him to England. He's only allowed to ship over one car, which he's already done. Then Chad will drive the minivan back home here on Feb. 1st.

What else, there must be more but I can't think of any right now.

How's that to bombard your morning?:lmao:

I know what you mean!!!!!
I still have to put up the Mickey wreath....

Oh, that's it.

Did you get any good gifties for your birthday?

I forgot to ask that question.. sorry. I thought they had said we had to wait til closer.

I still have to find a NYE maternity dress.

Don't people realize that I'm going on a cruise????

I looked at 3 stores for flip flops yesterday for Wilson and found NONE!!!!

Why didn't I shop for extra sizes in the summer :sad2:

I'm also a cheapskate when it comes to flip flops so please don't show we a link for those that I can buy for 19.99 + shipping...I won't do it.

There were some girl flip flops at Payless, I might resort to that....he wouldn't care, better than having to wear his shoes :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Ok - aren't Badgers like one of the meaniest mammals out there? And to see them on a cake they don't look so bad.

Got our cruise documentation today - by UPS - don't remember if that is how it came last time. Last time though we had custom's forms for the Bahamas that we filled out and turned in at check in at port - I didn't get those this time - so I called. Those forms are no longer needed (YEAH).

And for the big news - I got the dining rotation information:

FORMAL NIGHT - will be Night 5 (Wednesday, December 31st)
SEMI-FORMAL NIGHT - will be Night 3 (Monday, December 29th)
PIRATE NIGHT - will be Night 2 (Sunday, December 28th)

Kelly - can you put my family down for doing FE on Pirate Night which is Night 2- Sunday, December 28th.

Kelly, put me down for any day for the FE exchange . . . good luck with the dress!

EXCELLENT! I knew they would put formal night on the 31st, but wasn't sure how they would handle pirate night . . . it will be fun having it so early in the cruise, actually. Thanks for calling them.

No problem - I will get the information out on the website this evening along with some other items that need to be updated. Once the lovely pregnant Kelly gets a chance to put together the FE I will get that updated as well.

Just a reminder to everyone that in less than 10 days folks (including my party) will be gone and won't be able to confirm/change/etc. plans, etc. so the next week-10 days are important to get things down if you have plans with other dis'ers.

I had pm'ed ya Kelly - but we could do 1st night at some point

:)

thanks for the dining update

Very cool.. I think that I have dinner at Palo's on the 29th.. YEAH!!! Thanks for asking them!!!

I will send you the info as soon as I can on the FE schedule.

YEAH!!! this schedule doesn't interfere with any of our Palo ressies!! Thanks for getting these & thanks Kelly for the onboard shows - can't wait to see Bolt!!!

Crap, we have Palo ressies for Sunday night. The only thing I didn't want to miss was Pirate Night. Oh well we will try and reshedule on board or cancel if necessary.

I am very interested in seeing the movie Morning Light, it didn't make it to any theatres in Nova Scotia.

Artie, you & Claudia would be more than welcome to Join Rus, Chel & I on thursday 01/01 IF you would like...if you can't get another ressie...then again you two might be wanting a QUIET romantic dinner too....

Sounds like fun, would we have to make new ressies onboard and link to you guys?

That sounds great to us! We'll hook up onboard and make arrangements. :thumbsup2
