Dec 2011 Dining Review- "I'm Pregnant with a FOOD Baby!"- Complete 6/21

I love CHH but I've always gone for one of the sandwiches
Looking at your salmon dish has made me want to get this next time :goodvibes

Probably incredibly stupid of me but I didn't realise Le Cellier was still only 1 credit at lunch. I told DH we would have to skip it this year since I cannot justify 2 TS credits on it.

Sorry for the lack of reviews lately. :( I have had a horrible past week. My grandpa died last week and then on the way there on the bus my luggage was switched with someone (same identical purple luggage) and when it was returned everything was missing- $950 worth of stuff out of my bag! I am just so upset. Hopefully my insurance will cover it.

I'm glad you found the perfect way to enjoy a Dole Whip!

Loving your reviews!

SOOOO sorry about your grandpa! And that really burns me up about your luggage!

omg, that stinks! I'm so sorry!!

So sorry for the loss of your grandfather .

So sorry about your grandfather. That's so terrible about your luggage too. Too bad the bus company couldn't identify the person when it was returned.

After Le Cellier lunch, we walked around to snack around the World! Like we needed more food!;) We started in Germany and used a snack credit at Karamelle Kuche. I had the caramel with marshmallow inside. It was very good. The caramel was very soft and definitely fresh. The marshmallow was good too. I would definitely get this again although it is kind of expensive and small ($3.95 or snack credit)

Then we went to Japan and got the Kaki-Gori, which is like a shaved ice or snow cone. This is one of my all time favorite Disney snacks. I get plain honeydew melon but they have tangerine, strawberry, cherry. The honeydew is so good, I love it!

1671.jpg

We then had dinner at Biergarten. We went to the Candlelight Processional before and it started raining while waiting in line. Wow, it got freeezing. It dropped about 20 degrees. I was shaking during the show because I was so cold. It was miserable. Luckily, we got into Biergarten about 25 minutes our reservation. It was nice to get into warmth.

My first plate:
1689.jpg

This has pretzel bread, tomato salad, cucumber salad, and a lettuce salad with their special dressing that I can't remember. Their pretzel bread is good here- not quite as good as Le Cellier but still yummy. I couldn't find butter anywhere though! The tomato salad was soo good with the onions and basil. The tomatoes were so fresh and good! The cucumber salad was not good, it was very soggy and flavorless.

Here is Corey's plate. I can't really comment on the food.
1690.jpg

My main plate:
1692.jpg

My favorite was the salmon with the dill sauce. It was very good and the salmon and dill sauce was fresh and flavorful! The green beens were not good- they were covered in the onions! The macaroni and cheese was good as always but not anything unique. The red skin potatoes were okay but maybe a bit much seasoning.

My dessert plate:
1693.jpg

Black Forest Cake, Vanilla Pudding, Bavarian Cheesecake, and Apple Strudel. The vanilla pudding is good but almost like a fake vanilla taste. The bavarian cheesecake is my favorite! It is cake, then cheesecake, then cake, with powdered sugar! The apple strudel is good but there are raisins in it and I don't like raisins. The vanilla sauce was super yummy! I can't remember much about the Black Forest Cake but it was decent.

All in all, I really enjoyed Biergarten. It is definitely a once every other trip place. It is good, but not every trip good.

After dinner I stopped in to Karamell Kuche and got a caramel corn bag to snack on. This bag lasted me about three days. I was still eating it on the airplane on the way home. It was very chewy but I like it like that as opposed to crunchy. If you like the crunchy kind of caramel corn I wouldn't get this.

Well, I think I am going to finish my dining review after 4 months! I feel no one is reading this time, so I haven't added anything. I have really been on the Disney kick lately. I know I said I wasn't going to go this year..but I really want to go for a long weekend the first weekend in November with my friend and our boyfriends! I don't think we will, but it would be so much fun! My friend has only been once and it was in high school. I know I could get her to like Disney! :)

Well this time is breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. This was one of the meals all 7 of us were attending. Brrr, it was freezing this morning. It was so nice all of the trip except for this next to last day. Oh well, I couldn't complain, I was at WDW!

This was so good last year so I knew we had to go again this year. Luckily, everyone else wanted to as well.

First plate:
1706.jpg

This has eggs(don't waste valuable tummy space on them), bacon, which is very good! It is the only good bacon on Disney property, and by good, I mean non flimsy, paper-thin. The sauce on the bacon is coming from the lobster eggs benedict. It sounds better than it is, but it is pretty good. I love the sauce, but the biscuit part is very dry. Make sure to scoop up extra of the lobster sauce though! The best part on this plate are the cheesy potatoes! YUM. They are delicious. Perfect in every way, cheesy but not too cheesy, good flavor, and just really good!

Austin's plate:

Massive pile of stuff! Haha I love the yogurt with gummy worms. You can see him slurping up the strawberry soup. He LOVED that stuff.
1707.jpg

It was so cute when Mary Poppings came by because she gave Austin a huge kiss on his forehead and he had bright red lip marks on his forehead the rest of the day. He got so much entertainment out of that. That had to be one of the memorable moments of this trip.

Next plate:
1714.jpg

Fruit, more bacon, ham, and strawberry soup. I didn't care for the soup that much in June, but this time I really liked it. I had two bowls this time! I must have liked the pineapple becuase I had a lot of that. I don't think the honeydew was very good but I think the watermelon was.

Haha I laughed when I looked at this next picture. I haven't seen this pictures in 4 months.
1716.jpg

Holy massive pile of bread pudding! Um you think I liked it!!?? Geez, I was a pig. It is very good and especially with the vanilla sauce. Best part of all, no raisins! I don't like raisins. I guess the watermelon was really fresh and ripe because I took another big load of that.

All in all, this was a great meal with my family. I give it 10/10!!!! Everyone loved it and it is now a must do. It was Corey's parents favorite meal of the trip, which is kinda sad to be honest.

Next up: Snacks at the World Showcase

Yum,your Biergarten pictures are making me hungry and excited to return there in a few weeks.

I'm still reading too! Great reviews. I understand though - you kind of OD on thinking about WDW ... and then a little sad when a trip is over ... and then you get back into it later! I hope you get another trip in. It's been a while for me too -- we thought we might get a trip in the end of 2011 ... but not to be. Soooo... I am looking forward to 2013. Thanks for all the great pics ... I am thinking of all the food I want to try. And thinking about the diet before! HA HA! ;) ... and perhaps the diet after! ARG!

I love you dining review title - so many of us can relate! Your 1900 PF review makes me want to re-think our upcoming ADRs and try to work it in. That bread pudding with the vanilla sauce is amazing!

Thanks for taking the time to share your reviews - including the snacks.

Late to the party but love the reviews!! My brother was pregnant with a food baby during our November trip. We called his food baby Gelato.

A totally agree with your assessment of the perfect way to enjoy a dole whip float. The pinapple/vanilla swirl is to die for.

Totally off topic but I love your Vera Bradley bag. Isn't the Vera Bradley Hipster the best park bag ever?!

Yummmminess!!! I had already decided I wanted to try CHH and Dole Whip this time, so your post is perfect!!!!

Thanks!!!

Thanks for your reviews! It will help me when I don't know what I want to eat! But I will definitely hunt down that red velvet cake pop!

It was delicious. I crave it! Luckily, there is place here with really good cake balls, which taste just like it!

Not sure the picture of your salad will copy since I am new to this....but I think the salad in the lower right is red quinoa. It is good to know they have this available if you are gluten free or intolerant to wheat. Also, the noodles you didn't eat, were they rice noodles?

Everything looks delicious...

Nope...just looked, they wouldn't let me post a picture yet :)
Thanks for letting me it was quinoa. I just recently have been seeing so much about quinoa and am interested in it now. I don't think the noodles were rice noodles, but I am not sure.

'Ohana gets such mixed reviews but we really loved it. Glad you had a good enough experience there.

I am definitely getting one of those cake pops at DHS next time we go :thumbsup2
I love 'Ohana too! I am craving it now. There is a brazilian steakhouse that just opened by us and I want to try it out.

Thanks for the review of CHH! We are doing the Keys to the Kingdom Tour on our trip in March, and lunch at CHH is included with the price. It definitely wouldn't be somewhere I would choose for us on our own, but since it's included we don't have much of a choice. But reading that you had some decent food there makes me feel much better about it.

I hope your DL trip was good!! I haven't heard from you lately on here! I can't wait to hear more.

Great review so far!! My mouth is watering for the filet and soup at Le Celier, but our one and only experience there was dampened by a very crabby 9 month old (yes, ours), so my hubby associates that with the food and won't go back. Maybe one day I'll just have to go without him.
Haha, yes you will! Maybe when the 9 month old is a lot older and he forgets it!

I love CHH but I've always gone for one of the sandwiches

It was very good!!!

Probably incredibly stupid of me but I didn't realise Le Cellier was still only 1 credit at lunch. I told DH we would have to skip it this year since I cannot justify 2 TS credits on it.

Yes, I would skip it too for dinner but lunch is still a very good value!!
:goodvibes oh the red velvet treat was too cool!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!:wizard:

You are welcome!!!:)

Enjoying the reviews! Interesting we had sugar cookies at the MVMCP in November.

That is odd. The snickerdoodles were good though, so I can't complain.

I'm glad you found the perfect way to enjoy a Dole Whip!

Loving your reviews!

SOOOO sorry about your grandpa! And that really burns me up about your luggage!

Thank you so much for the kind words! I did get money from my insurance so I feel better now.

omg, that stinks! I'm so sorry!!

Thank you!

So sorry for the loss of your grandfather .

Thank you for your support!:)

So sorry about your grandfather. That's so terrible about your luggage too. Too bad the bus company couldn't identify the person when it was returned.
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, the bus company wasn't cooperative at all. Never riding Megabus again.

Yum,your Biergarten pictures are making me hungry and excited to return there in a few weeks.

Lucky!! Have fun!!! Eat a pretzel breadstick for me!

i'm still reading!!

Thank you!!!

Yeah, I was definitely ready to take a break from Disney, now I already want to go back! I think the magic time is 6 months. We are definitely going in 2013 and we will go all out!!!!!

Thanks! I am enjoying reading your reviews as well. You seem like a fun mom!! haha!

Haha about the gelato. I loooove gelato!!!!! Yes, I did like the hipster. I like the size of the small backpack better but the straps dug into my armpits. This one was more comfortable, but I couldn't fit everything. Also, my hipster zipper broke on the trip because i carried too much stuff in it!!! They replaced it though =)

I'm still reading...and still loving your DR! Thanks for coming back!

Thanks for reading!! I don't have much stuff left but oh well!

Ahhh, now onto the part where you are supposed to stuff yourself silly to use up all of your last credits!:rotfl:

After breakfast we went to POFQ where Corey's parents were staying. They were trying out the pool and we wanted to try out the beignets! In hindsight that probabaly wasn't the best idea because it took us like an hour and a half to get there! We had to go back to Pop to get my sweatshirt and it took so long to go from MK to POP to DTD to POFQ! Never again.

And it wasn't a great idea because the beignets weren't even good! They weren't horrible but if you have ever had true beignets you will be dissapointed. They are thin little hollow dough and the dough tasted like it was fried in old oil or something. They were chewy too, not doughy chewy!

1756.jpg

1757.jpg

I can now say, "Been there Done that" with the beignets!

We got to Epcot about 3 and had dinner at 6:30 at Garden Grille, we still had another counter service, so we had lunch!! Another hindsight, should not have ate that early before dinner!!! We had the counter service spot in Mexico.

I had the chicken tacos. These were really good and tasted very authentic. The chicken was good and flavorful with cilantro and the tortillas were amazing! The chips are even good, allthough a little thick, I like my chips airy and light.

1759.jpg

1761.jpg

Corey had the nachos, which were humongous! they were really good with the nacho cheese sauce.

For dessert we had the churros with the milk caramel sauce. I have to say these could be considered one of my favorite quick service desserts. The churros were a little too overdone but the caramel sauce was amazing!

1760.jpg

1762.jpg

After this I had a little alcoholic beverage in Italy- the Rosa Regale! This is a sweet red sparkling wine, and it is soo good and refreshing. I have had it twice since I have been home, I love it now.

1766.jpg

For my last snack credit I had the Napoleon at the Boulangerie Patisserie.

1780.jpg

This really was overdoing it. This thing is sickenly sweet but so good. I should not have gotten this 2 hours before dinner. I only had half of this. The cream is so good with the dough layers but I got this at the wrong time.

Here are some shots of the new Japanese quick service menu. The new inside eating area is so nice and it is really pretty back there.
