Dec 2009- anyone else

Just added my name to the Nov 2009 thread and now have to add myself to the Dec one too! We'll be returning to the Polynesian 11/30-12/9! :) Alittle under 9 months. Hope it goes fast! :)

Heading to Coronado Springs in December! It's our first time checking out CSR so we're absolutely pumped! :)

I booked our trip last week. We're staying at BWI on the Club Level the 2-9th of next year. This was a big deal because we're taking my parents on their 1st ever WDW trip - our treat. I am so excited. I'm more excited to see them there with their grandson than anything. OK, I'm also really excited to see the parks decorated for Christmas too.

I am so envious! I have been begging DS and DIL to go with us (so the two granddaughters can come of course) but even tho we have offered to pay, they think the girls are "too young" and refuse.:sad2:
Have fun. :dance3: The grandparents (and of course, you and your husband!) will have a wonderful time! WDW couldn't be better at Christmas:santa:

Seems like many of us are in the same boat. We love WDW at x-mas time! This will be our third year in a row visiting Disney for x-mas. We are staying Dec 27th-January 2nd at AKV- Kidani Village in a savanna view room

We booked two Garden View rooms at the Poly for Dec 5-Dec 11. Originally, my mother wanted to resort hop, but we'll be taking my dd (who will be 2.5) and I thought that would be too much of a hassle. I'm excited, especially since this will my first time at the Poly.

We will be at POP 12/26 thru 1/2! It is our first time going for the holidays, we are usually there in the heat of the summer. I know it will be very, very crowded and we are prepared for that! I have a couple of questions from those that have been the Christmas/New Year's week. First is a dumb one ... what should be pack? Is it warm enough for shorts or should we plan pants for every day. Second, I was reading last year's New Year's Eve schedule and see that the Christmas parade is in the MK. Is the Christmas parade done every day or is the 'regular' parade there other days during the week? THANK YOU for any info. (Yeah, I know it is really, really far away but after the winter we have had, I need something to look forward to! )

Dec. 2009 traveler here! We've booked Coronado as an upgrade to our normal All Star Sports - it just looks insanely romantic & the new rooms look awesome. Contemporary is our favorite, but just way too expensive for us to justify when it's not our honeymoon :lmao:

It kills me when I think about how much extra money we are putting towards CSR compared to a value. I have never stayed at POP - my parents did once and hated it so we've stuck to our All Stars. Reading around the boards, people seem to love POP here. So I guess I'm just confused.

But regardless - I'm going in December!!

Swan 12/24-27, then Dolphin 12/27-1/2! This will be our second Christmas in Disney....but our first New Years. We'll be enjoying the teacher rate while we're there. We just have to stay employed between now and December!!

We're going Nov 29-Dec 5, staying at Wilderness Lodge, and getting the Quick Service dining plan. We'll be celebrating our 4yo's 5th birthday. :cheer2:

We decided to stay at AKL instead of WL.

We're booked and paid for. Now if November would just hurry up and get here. :rotfl:

Oh I know it seems like forever away. And the sad part is that when you wish for it to hurry up and get here then you are wishing the summer away. Here in the Northeast you hate to do that.;)

Dec. 15-21 POFQ
Grand Gatherings with DH, me, DD12, DD7, and my BFF, BFFDH, BFFDS18 and BFFDD12 and our other BFF and family is thinking about joining us:banana:
My 40th Birthday on the 19th!
First time ever at Christmas.:santa:

Used the 40% pin code for our rooms, but I am hoping and praying for Disney Visa Free Dining in Dec. like last year. Is that just wishful thinking?:scratchin

Dec.24 to Jan. 2! CanNOT wait!! We used to go every winter but will have taken a 3 year break by then!!

Who else is going the actual week of Christmas? Have you done it before? What are your favorite tips?

We did it Christmas 2005. Pleasantly surprised how many attractions we were able to do with our FP. Really surprised. Also, taking it easy and enjoying things - not getting caught up in the crowd anxieties, bad stroller drivers, etc! :rotfl:

Oh, and we're celebrating my 40th Birthday, my husband's 40th Birthday and both of his parents' 70th Birthdays!

We sort of planned to go last year for Christmas 2008, but wasn't diligent enough about saving and when gas hit $4 a gallon, well, there went so much of the budget, you know? So, in January, I secretly decided to start putting aside a little every week and spent the winter plotting and planning a fun way to announce to my family that we'll go for Christmas. I stayed up late after DH was sound asleep and scoured the DISign Boards and ended up with several custom t-shirts and fun plans for each 23rd of the months between now and when we leave in December. You know, little gifts that arrive every month to have a little Disney Magic to keep you excited! I talked to my DH's parents, got them excited to join us. So for his 40th Birthday in February, instead of a romantic getaway for 2, I gave him the promise (and a starter fund) for a fabulous family trip for 6! Put it together with what we'd spend on my 40th in Dec, plus what we'd spend on Christmas (mostly, the trip is the gift b/c what do any of us REALLY need?) and we've got it made!!

So for the reveal, I basically wrote out the above explanation and then said, "so maybe we'll go somewhere for Christmas," and had 3 boxes for the kids to open. Out of each box floated a Mickey head balloon, JUST LIKE THE COMMERCIALS, with an envelope attached to the ribbon and a cute custom "ticket" from the DISers...OHHH!! Their faces were priceless! We are all VERY excited.

I will try to post pictures after I take the kids to school.

My DH, D-sis and I will be going Dec. 11 - 19 and staying at POP. My DH & I will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! We've never stayed at POP before so hopefully it will be nice. I can't wait to see all the Christmas decorations again!

Okay, for all of you that have traveled to Disney near Christmas, how bad is bad. Every time I tell someone that we are going to Disney from Dec. 19 - 25, they tell me how awful the crowds are going to be. So, I am coming to the EXPERTS on the DIS. Give it to me straight. Is this trip going to ruin Disney for me.
