Dec 2007 A mouse Odyssey/lotsa pics

How scary, thank goodness she was alright. My brother has a pretty severe allergy to bees. We found out when he was a toddler and he was accidentally placed on a swing that had a bee on it. Needless to say he got stung. He swelled up pretty bad. Hasn't been stung since so maybe he has outgrown out. Certainly hope so.

How scary. Thank goodness everything is okay.

There are a lot of bee allergies in my family (it skipped me), and it's always so scary when someone gets stung.

Reading about your Christmas preparations makes me want Christmas to be here now! This will be the first year in 3 years that I will be with my own family on Christmas (we've been with DH's the past two). I CAN NOT wait!!!!!

OMG definately a scary moment. Thank goodness she was feeling better, but it was good that the paramedics were there just in case. Awwww  Ty, I'm not a mommy but I can imagine how that must've felt

Oh Ty - I am so glad she was alright. I bet that moment felt sooo long. And Reese, if you're reading this - you are such an angel to let you Mom tuck you in last night - she needed that <<kisses>>

Can't wait to see pictures of all your holiday things. I go out shopping on Black Friday too. And we all get new Christmas PJ's too. Has your weather been fall-ish?

Oh my Goodness Ty!! What a horrible feeling to have to have. I'm so glad it all worked out, and yes you are right, God had both hands in that. Here's a hug:hug: !!

You are just going to LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas at Disney. The lights, music, decorations--SUPER FABULOUS!! Sounds like your Christmas is going to be perfect.

I am NOT happy about it being 3 years since you had both your kids. I am guessing it is an "ex" thing???

It will be extra special with your parents there too! Did you see the stores are getting their X-mas supplies in the stores now. We are getting sooo close to vacation. YAAAAAAAY!

Ok as much as I LOVE Christmas (it's my favorite holiday), this is a big pet peeve of mine. It's the middle of September and there's already Christmas stuff! Ugh, they just keep moving it out earlier and earlier every year. Sheesh! :sad2:

Oh, I agree with you 100%. It is the 3 1/2 months of Christmas-fa la la la la-la la la la!!

I am liking it this year just because it means my vacation is getting here sooner!! It's better than seeing pools and grills and plants, cause that just made me feel like it was NEVER coming!!

I agree. As much as I like Christmas I don't think it should be in the stores (at least not dominating the stores) until November.

Oh my gosh, how frightening! There is no worse feeling than that of knowing your baby is in danger. I am so very happy it all turned out as well as it did!

And as for the stores rushing X-mas, I agree! Thanksgiving is completely passed over any more. But retail stores don't sell a whole lot of "Thanksgiving Barbies" or Tickle Me Elmo Turkeys. :confused3 :rotfl:

And I think a pilgrim Ken and Barbie would be fun!!

Seriously, we should contact them!!!

Lifelong Dreamer It was pretty scary, she had gone so long without getting stung she didn't take the allergy seriously anymore, this was a total wake up call for both of us.

SwansLoveDisney I had a small allergy to bees as a child, I would swell like a balloon but nothing like Reese who would stop breathing, she swelled so bad that her ears tore, (sorry if I grossed you out) I hope she has out grown it and it's not just some fluke thing that she didn't have a reaction this time.

LurrrvtheDuck Thanks. It was the worse feeling in the world, but some comfort to know that the paramedics were there, even though they didn't have an epi-pen either they could still help her. Her coaches did a great job keeping her calm too.

ILMICKEY I am so grateful and thankful to God that Reese is ok. She told me last night "If I had died, I would still have wanted you to go to Disney." I didn't know how to react to that, later on I started bawling, cause the that thought of not having her in my life had not crossed my mind, then all of a sudden I was scared. She is my sunshine. I can't imagine life with out her.

xoprincessmomxo Thank you. We are so careful now, checking and double checking to make sure she has her epi when we go out, even though she might have out grown the allergy, we don't ever want to have that helpless feeling again.

I believe in shopping early for Christmas supplies, I put my tree up before Thanksgiving, but even if the stores would wait until the first week of November to put out their Christmas merchandise that is still plenty of time to buy what you need and decorate.

I hate seeing Halloween in one iasle, then going around the corner to find Christmas items out as well. for me, part of the Christmas excitement is viewing all the new Christmas stuff they come out with. I am one of those annoying people who pushes all the buttons to hear the music play, see the penguins dance and yes, I even enjoy the farting Santa! I like to push all those buttons at once and then go over to the next iasle and just laugh at all the tootin going on to the sound of Jingle bells.

I tell myself I won't look at any Christmas items until November, but I never listen to myself, I am afraid that something will sell out before I had a chance to see/hear it. I don't know if stores do that to rush Christmas or to push it. I asked a sales associate why they put it out so early and she said it's what the shoppers want, but I have never heard a shopper get all excited when they see Christmas stuff in September/October. I have heard "Christmas already? school just started." I've heard "It is way too early for Christmas, let me get through Halloween and Thanksgiving first." My cousin just opened a store over the summer called a touch of country, and she has told me that people are already asking when she is going to put Christmas items out. She hasn't done so yet, she plans to wait until the end of October, but I guess for some , they like Christmas early.

It is impossible for me to burn out on Christmas, there have been times when I didn't care about Christmas (the first time the kids went to the ex's for the Holiday) but it does feel like stores no longer care about the spirit of Christmas and it is all about making the most money. I think if they put the stuff out earlier, it will sell faster and then they can order more and make more $$$ in the end.

I have made a vow to not look at Christmas decorations until November 1st this year. I want to keep that vow. I am going to avoid the seasonal iasle at all costs.

Who is with me?

I would make that vow usually but there is a very good chance that I will be visiting Frankenmuth at the beginning of October when I go to visit my grandparents in Toledo over the Canadian Thanksgiving. A trip to Frankenmuth can only mean one thing! Bronner's Christmas World, the largest Christmas store in the world!

Bronners is the exception, they don't rush or push christmas, they are Christmas. I never pass up the chance to go. I haven't been in a couple of years, I miss it.

I love Frankenmuth too, and eating at Zhenders. My mom goes a couple times a year, I always have her pick me up the lavender mints.

I can't be with you on that one. I've already peeked. So, you're trying out a new font?? :rotfl:

Truth be told, I doubt I will make it to November with out peeking, I am gonna try, but by golly I love Christmas!!!!

Sometimes I need a change, it might come in the area of switching coffee cream flavors or it could be a new font, I am not ready to give up irish cream yet, so a new font it was, but now I am back to boring me again. Although I did pick up caramel vanilla cream.

TY--WHY ARE YOU YELLING?????

I'm with you, nothing until November. Besides, I am going to be saving every last penny, so there is no need.

I LOVE Frankenmuth too. OHHHHHH Zenders! YUMMY! We usually go every year, but we aren't going to make it this one. I much prefer Disney anyway!!

My first trip to Frankenmuth was last November over the Thanksgiving weekend. We did not stop to eat at Zenders as we still needed to drive down to Toledo but maybe on this trip we will. Will definitely need to stop in the cheese shop and sample the strange cheeses they have, Stawberry cheese, chocolate cheese.:thumbsup2
