Dec 2007 A mouse Odyssey/lotsa pics

Wow! It's sold out already?!

That stinks.

But I think it's great that you're going on your birthday!

I still could have gotten them for that day, but it would have cost more. The AAA agent explained that Disney only puts so many advance purchases for each date aside, I guess Dec 6th was a popular day to go. This must be the Disney Gods way of saying Happy Birthday Ty! I like the idea of going later in our stay, it gives me something to huge to look forward to while I am there, not that I will be bored or anything, But I like the idea of leaving the best for last (almost last)

Awww, I was so wanting to see yall (well, for sure Durka) at MVMCP. Shucks. Really shucks, that probably means they'll be loads of people there when I am.

I went to purchase my MVMCP tickets for the 6th of Dec. and they told me that advanced purchases for that day was sold out, the only had the 9th available, so I took it. This changes everything. First off I feel like a total schmuck cause MVMCP was supposed to be done on Coleys B-day, now it is being done on mine.
Originally I was going to leave MK early on my B-day and head to WS for a maragarita in Mexico, but that time is now booked with the MVMCP, and now we have open time on Coleys B-day, but I am sure the last thing she wants to do is WS on her B-day. I need to rework some things now.
What a bummer!! You could work Epcot in for her birthday though. What about a princess dinner in Norway? Get her a birthday tierra to wear and make her a birthday princess t-shirt or something. Then somewhere they have a dessert thing while you are watching Illuminations. Set that up and surprise her.

Your not a schmuck!!

Lifelong Dreamer I sure hope it does, I have that stressed feeling again.

roxannensteve I was thinking MVMCP would be the place I'd bump into ya, that was the only thing we had scheduled at the same time. I should booked it earlier.

ILMICKEY We are still doing a character dinner on her B-day, I will just let her decide what she wants to do that evening, I have talked to her about it and she said she was fine with having to switch the dates, seeing as it is technically her first time going to WDW I think she will just love everything and not really care what day we do it. I am thinking on getting her a pair of crocs for her B-day, she has expressed an interest in them, I will talk to her mom about it.

Why did you wait to book it? Oh, well...some of my plans may be changing. Have you seen they extended some hours when we're there??

I waited thinking they wouldn't sell out so early, and spent the money I was going to use on the MVMCP tickets on an extra night "room only"

No I havent heard about extended hours, do you know which dates? Are you trying to tell me in a nice way that I'm a sucker and am missing out on extended hours cause I waited to long?:confused3 :lmao: That will LEARN me.:sad2:

Nope, thats not what I'm trying to tell you. sha. I'm talking about the park hours in general. They are different than when I originally looked & made adrs.

But about MVMCP, I guess the extra night is worth it. Atleast you able to go on another night. But, it totally ruined your birthday plans & I am telling you, you're a sucker for that :lmao: Say goodbye to those margaritas.....

Its all good. :flower3:

I will just have to drink a margarita in Mexico in honor of Coley's birthday;) I will even drink an extra Margarita to honor you who was smart enough to get her MVMCP tickets early.

Where did you see the extra hours? I went to Allears.net and it was still the same. I am wondering if I need to change a few things around to maximize the moust of my Disney trip time.

Awww that totally sucks about MVMCP being sold out. :guilty:

I'm sure it will al work out though. :goodvibes

Well it kind of worked out in my favor, not so much for Coley though, but really does it matter what night we go? we will still be at the greatest place on earth. The only big bummer is I will miss out on a chance to meet roxannensteve.

I had been looking at the Disney site. It seems like some of the hours changed compared to when I first planned. Maybe you planned corrrectly ;)

We might still run into each other. :rolleyes1

It's chilly today, chilly enough that I made a pot of coffee. I have a rule where I don't make coffee until the first Saturday in November, I love coffee but I only drink it in cold or chilly weather. Today it is 66 degrees and since it's my stupid rule I figure I am allowed to break it.

I always say I hate cold weather and I welcome the summer, but this year I am looking forward to winter, it can't get here fast enough. Part of it of course is because of disney, and the biggest part is my Mom and Dad are coming for Christmas, and the most biggest part of it all is I havent had both kids at Christmas for the past 3 years. One year I just had Reese, the next year I just had Jim and last year I had neither. (it's a long story why that happened) but anyway, this year is my year!

Each day I wake up and go check the weather report, last week we were above our normal temps by 10 degrees, that just made December feel like it was forever away. Yesterday and today have been pretty cool temps, although we are expected to get back to the 80's mid week.

I have been bit by the Christmas spirit early this year. Normally that doesn't happen until mid October, and I get all weepy and excited at the same time. One year it hit me in July, that was rough, it stayed the whole time until Christmas came and went. I have another rule where I don't start watching Christmas movies until November, but I watched the Santa Clause today. I am wishing it were chilly enough for a fire now.

I have a tradition that the first Christmas movie I watch each year is Muppets christmas Carol. I guess I kind of broke that tradition. I always watch National Lampoons Christmas Vacation on Christmas Eve, and the Christmas Story on Christmas Day. I love Christmas so much. I can't keep waiting for November to get here so I can start watching my Christmas movies, I need to start now. If I can start making disney plans 15 months in advance, then I should be able to start watching Christmas movies in September, right?

I have lot's of Disney Christmas cartoons. Belle's enchanted Christmas has been a favorite of mine for a while too.

I am so excited to be going back to disney, I can see in my minds eye just how much fun I am going to have. But it really hit me today that, wow, I am going to see Disney all decorated for Christmas, I have seen pictures, but I am sure they don't really do the decorations justice, this is going to be new for Reese and I. I love going to the mall after Thanksgiving just to look at it all decorated up for Christmas, I can't even imagine disney decorated.

It was chilly up here today as well. I found myself singing "Baby It's Cold Outside":rotfl2:

How exciting for you that you will have your parents and kids all together for Christmas. It must have been tough in past years not having the kids together for Christmas.

I have pretty much the same rule except it applies to Christmas music. I love listening to it and I love playing it on the piano.

You are going to love Disney at Christmas! It is so beautiful!

I share the same love for Christmas that you do. I love Christmas shopping months before the holiday, wrapping the presents, decorating the house. I always seem to decorate the house in mid-November. I put so much work into decorating the house/tree that it would be a shame if it was all only up for a week or two!

I love baking Christmas cookies and taking them into work to help spread the spirit.

I even dedicate $100 to spend on toys to donate to the local Christmas toy drive.

One of our family traditions is to drive around and look at all the houses lit up and decorated for Christmas on Christmas Eve.

Christmas is great!:santa:

Wow, you've broke many traditions & rules, but like you said they are your own so you can go whatever you want. :grouphug: I love Christmas time too & fall & Halloween....all starting with, well now...today it was cool here too.

Lifelong Dreamer I put my trees up the Saturday before Thanksgiving, I love the house all decked out for the Holidays. We normally do a gingerbread house and bake and decorate cookies.

we have our regular eclectic Christmas Tree, with ornaments of every kind, there is no rhyme or reason to it, and then a tree that has a theme each year. I think this year i am going to do a wilderness theme, or a homemade them, i am not sure yet. Last year it was a snow man tree. one year it was all native american and I actually had a dear skull on the top.

Every year we buy cloves and oranges, we push the cloves into the oranges then attach ribbon to them and hang them around the house, it smells so good.

I can't wait to start our traditions this year.

We also have the tradition of driving around and looking at yard decorations, we bring hot chocolate and blankets to keep warm and drive with the windows down.

roxannensteve I love the fall, it is so beautiful. I love a brisk fall day where the air is so clear you can see for miles, even the horizon is clear, no fuzzy mist at all. Those are the days I sit on the porch swing and read a book, the smell of leaves burning is so cozy. I use to really like Halloween, but now that the kids are too old for trick or treating it has lost some of it's appeal. I miss making costumes for them.

I am glad to see I am not the only Christmas nut around! :hyper: From around right now until Christmas is my favorite time of the year! I actually got a high from putting out my fall decorations this year and lighting my caramel cream candles and using my pumpkin pie potpouri. I actually start getting depressed about a week before Christmas because I know it's going to be over and stay sad untill it starts getting warmer. I told my husband that when we are rich (:lmao: ) he will need to start taking me to Disney World every January or February so I have something to look forward to after the Holidays are done.

And Christmas Music!!!! :thumbsup2 We turn it on Thanksgiving day and the radio station DOES NOT TURN until after Christmas, no matter how many verbal warnings my husband has to get! We also put up all of our Christmas decorations on Thanksgiving day while we watch the Macy's Parade....it's kind of that transition from fall turning into winter....and it's the one tradition I can call my own! We do all of our holidays like we did growing up since we still all live close enough to do that. My 88 year old Grandma still cooks Christmas brunch. The only difference now mine and my sisters children sit in our old spots in front of the tree and that my sweet mommy isn't rocking in her chair, having more fun than any of the kids. That is the one hard part about the holidays....

I am gonna want to see a picture of your trees, the themed one sounds fun. And the oranges & cloves, I have never heard of it but I bet it does have quite an aroma, can you describe it more? Like, does the orange drip out juice? :confused3 Sounds like something I'd like to do. And how do you attach the ribbon? We normally put our stuff up on Thanksgiving or the weekend after. But this year we'll have other stuff to do so (like packing) so it'll be Thanksgiving.

xoprincessmomxo I love the idea of going to Disney in January or February to get past the Christmas is over blues.

I love having my decorations up for Thanksgiving, smelling the turkey cooking and seeing the lights dancing.

One of my traditions that I started for myself when the kids had to start going to their dads every other Thanksgiving. I would do my Christmas shopping on black Friday, while I was out I would get myself a new pair of Christmas pj's, I would wear them that night while wrapping Christmas presents and watching Christmas movies.

roxannensteve I will definatley post pics of my trees this year. When I have a few minutes I will post pics of some of my trees from the past few years too.

The orange clove thing is so simple to make, the juice doesn't drip out or anything. and all i do is wrap the ribbon around it like I would a present and then creat a loop to hang it by. I will see if I happen to have any pictures of one we have done in the pass. You don't have to hang them though, one year I just put 3 of them in a bowl as part of a center piece for my table.

Today Reese had a game for Cougars, it was a chilly day again. I don't fret the bees too much in chilly weather, the seem to disappear, so today when Reese didn't have her bag (with her epi-pen in it) on the field with her I didn't think too much of it. I had gone to the canteena to get her a bottle of water when Reese came running over telling me she had just been stung. She hasn't been stung in 7 years, but that horrible memory of her swelling up and not being able to breathe came back so vividly, one of her coaches was with her so I said I was going to run to the car and get her epi for her. that run seemed to have taken an eternity and when I got to the car her purse was not in it. So I called back to the field and told them it wasn't there, they said she was with a paramedic already. so I race back to the field and she is laying down kind of propped up a bit on the paramedics lap, my heart stopped, I could barely speak and just then Reese said "I feel fine, I don't think I need the shot." she didn't swell up or anything, she even went out on the field a few minutes later for the half time routine. The paramedic said that maybe she had enough immunity build up for this time but next time she could have a reaction like before. It seems like she has the reactions every other time she gets stung so that makes sense. There could also be a good chance that she out grew the allergy. We will still carry the epi-pen just incase, (reese plans to be more careful about not leaving it at home) It was so scary though for those few minutes not knowing what was going to happen to her. I know God had a hand in it, both hands actually. Tonight she asked me tuck her into bed, she hasn't allowed me to tuck her in since 4th grade, I took my time and held on a little longer than normal when I hugged her.
