Good day,

We are planning a visit Dec 18-22. We will be spending Xmas in PS area at family's. So we are driving up for these 4 days.

2 adults and littles 8-5. Yes i know a bit bust time of year. Just hoping to beat a bit of the crowd as schools are out yet.

We will be 2 days Disney 2 days CA. Genie + for both. Best strategies please. We will be trying to rope drop daily.

What say you DL/CA masters.

Thanks

We do 4 day trips often and have found that DL has a lot more to do than DCA and DL also has a lot more rides/areas we can redo a number of times without getting bored. Which means that if we do NOT get parkhoppers then we will schedule 1 day at DCA and 3 at DL (usually putting the DCA day in the middle.) If you are doing hoppers (highly recommended if you can spare the extra $60 per person) then you have much more flexibility with the parks being so close and you can just go wherever your family's whims take you.

We aren't doing park hopper. Too much walking for the littles. We will concentrate on DL 3 of the days we already decided i forgot to mention.

We have been 3 times already in the last 5 year haha but never rope dropped or planned our routes to maximize rides. Kids are older now so can ride everything!!!!

With park hoppers you don’t have to go back and forth between parks. But it gives you flexibility to spend a morning in DL and then go to DCA in the afternoon after a break for example. The flexibility is nice if you can swing it.

Yes i know we just picked genie over hopper this time the old park hoppers were way better

The only difference is you can’t park hoo before 11:00 AM, which doesn’t matter as much if you have young kids and want to limit walking. You might want to review the rope drop planning thread and focus on maximizing your time at DCA since you will only have one day there. You will have more time at DL to make sure you do everything you want, but at DCA you should prioritize what is most important to you all to make sure you get to everything you want.

Yes we def working out a plan for DCA as its only 1 day.

Diif if it was 2 adults but 2 little will be in tow.

Binge watched a lot of you tube vids on this topic for DCA we definitely will go right to Pixar pier from rope drop. Bang out maximum rides 1st 2 hours and book LL after or even start at 9 depending how the waits are getting. I think we have a fir strategy right now haha. Till things breakdown....

Overall 100% satisfied with the Genie + wouldn't go again without. Been 3 years since we were at the parks and all is well. Wont wait 3 more years to go again. Stayed at the Wyndham about 10 mins from the parks perfect hotel and location.

Sounds like you got a lot accomplished. I'm curious, is this the order that you rode the rides? Going from
MMRR to Pirates & Big Thunder to Small World then back to Haunted Mansion and back to Buzz seems like a lot of criss crossing.

Yes this was the order. @LKing

Yes it was a lot of criss crossing but the kids had strollers rented from City Walk Rentals (highly recommend)

Just the way it worked with MMRR always breaking down. One minute its down then 10 mins later its open.... so we walked over only to find it down again so we would hand around toontown for a bit just incase. The walking doesn't bother us getting are 22k steps a day haha. Its worth it.

Wow, you got so much done! Sounds like a wonderful trip. Just curious-did you try to ride Peter Pan's Flight?
