We've passed the 200 day and under mark!!!!!
(happy ferret dance)

The little "ferrets" and I have made a paper ring chain counting down the days to our trip. Can't wait can't wait can't wait!

That is such a great idea. DS keeps checking our countdown "raft" to see how much closer it has gotten to the island. He cannot wait for Castaway again!!!

I am starting to get excited. I can't wait for our first cruise!!

I love your raft :) It's great for gaging--all our rings cover the better part of a wall and it's kind of overwhelming. But slowly and surely...
I really miss the timers DIS use to allow.

Alright shipmates--I FINALLY got my Passporter today and it's really all kicking in now!

Anybody out there into pin trading? That's something cheap I'm looking forward to onboard :) Just got a bunch on sale at disneydirect.com. My passporter says that crew members as of Feb 2005 are no longer able to trade though :(

Anybody staying at the Poly before the trip???

We are staying at the Beach Club before the trip. We are also going to MVMCP on the 29th. I have never been to Disney around the holidays so I am really looking forward to all of the decorations. Does anyone know if the ship will be decorated for the holidays?

I read on another board that the ship was already decorated at Thanksgiving so we should see it in all it's holiday glory! I really didn't even think of decorations for the ship.

Don't forget to bring your santa hats - we're doing our holiday photos on Castaway this year. Won't that just tick everyone off back home when they open their cards in the 20 degree weather! Woohoo@!! Actually, we'll be back home by then too sigh..... :cold:

We will be trading pins, but have no idea how it really works. So far we've only traded with the CMs at the parks. It's hard though because I purchased pins for the kids that I just love and I cringe when they go to trade em. This year I've purchased the locking backs for our favs so they can't go anywhere!!

We won't be staying at the Poly pre-cruise but will be there one night to eat at O'hanas! Our room is in the AKL.

That sounds like a GREAT idea to take your holiday photo on Castaway Cay.

We will also be eating at O'Hanas for dinner one night.

Have you been to O'Hana's yet? We have never been there but hear great things about it. I thought it would be nice for our first night in town even though we won't be staying on site that night.

We have never eaten at Ohana's either. We have heard so many good reviews that we wanted to try it. We are going down a few days early and staying at POFQ so that we will have a couple of extra days at the parks. I am not sure when we are going yet.

Well, we will arrive on 11/26. Probably won't do the parks or anything as boy this vacation is pricey!!! We may stay at the Nick Hotel or something and just enjoy the pool.

Anyway, if we don't share Ohanas with you, we will be with you at the party.

Enjoy your planning!

We're coming in on Saturday too (I think that's the 26th?)--staying at ASM that first night because the trip really is costly like you mentioned. I love to overplan, so I'm thinking Ohana on Monday night for us. Chef Mickey's in the morning, Epcot, then Ohanas.

About trading pins with the CMs--they're the only ones I've traded with before, too. They're easy :) We had gone to a MNSSHP and I went on a Villain spree.

Thanks for the idea about santa hats--I'm writing it down now.

Ahhh, another compulsive planner - pleased to meet ya!

I hope you enjoy Ohana - I've heard great things. I think we will enjoy it.

I guess we will all be on Castaway with our Santa hats! At least my kids won't say "Come on Mom, we look stupid as the only ones with Santa hats on!" :teeth:

My kinder ferrets are still too young to be concerned with "coolness"--today my little boy went to see Robots with stickers all over his legs :) Mr. FFerret though, he's a different matter. My little girl just turned five and my boy will be seven in July, so they might be enjoying the Oceaneer's Club the same time as your son.

About compulsive planning, I read something pretty wise here at DIS. You're only at the parks for such a short time, but the fun from planning is year round :cheer2: And the overplanning leads to fun little tidbits like this--you remember me saying the CMs can't trade onboard anymore? Soneone's recently posted that the was only temp. Hurray :)

True, true. So, when we drop DS off at Oceaneer's, do we look for fuzzy little ferrets? I'm sure they will have a great time all together! DS has just turned 5.

Too funny :)
Not terribly fuzzy--just mischievous. Becky turned five at the end of April and can't wait for Kindergarten. And neither can mommy.

I hear ya on that one. Although, DS is less than excited about it. I'm hoping that going on the cruise in December will be some motivation to get him to school the first few months.

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Has anyone thought about if they are going to take any excursions?

Hi Again.
Hope my fellow Dec. 1-Wonder cruise mates are doing well. I heard about a new stingray area at CC after the Magic is in drydock-not far from where I live and I wrote Disney and someone wrote back that the stingray encounter will hopefully be available to guests by late September, so that will be our only excursion. Last year on DCL, we went on the Dolphin Encounter in Nassau, which is worth the money and I also did parasailing on CC, which was also worth it. I have also been learning-from these boards-to make more creative door signs and even made a few decorations for the All Star Movies room window. I am putting things together for Pirate night as well. What are everyone else's excursion plans?

DH, DD7 and I will be doing the dolphin excursion. Any tips? I cant decide whether to book through Disney or do it on my own.

I already have the whole vacation planned out with which parks, restaurants and even rides in what order. We arrive late on Fri the 25th and are staying at POP Fri and Sat night then off to Beach Club first thing Sunday morning. We are doing the monorail resorts tour on Saturday morning then Ohanas for dinner on Saturday so we can see the fireworks.

DD is nervous about the clubs, but I told her I was already talking to some people who will be there too, so that made her feel better!

MD.
