CRO has released some more sites over Christmas. Today I was able to book Dec. 30, 08 into Jan. of 09. Full hookup ......want preferred but at least I have a reservation!!!!:cool1: For those of you wanting Christmas......I asked if anything was available and was told NO. Dont know if they are booked up or if CRO is still holding them back:confused3 Good Luck !

:goodvibes
AFTER CALLING FOR THE LAST MONTH....on SUNDAY finally got JANUARY 09.......DON'T know when the sites became available but did get the full hook up I wanted....
seems crazy to reserve so very far ahead when I AM NOW looking forward to my JANUARY 08 STAY...BUT we had so much trouble just getting those days for this year, figured I would not lollygaggle as I have in the past...
things seem different the last two years making ressies...harder..and the CMs, mostly did not even know that you could reserve for 09..I had to walk em through.it..................
AND THE BEAT GOES ON..........SPINNER:hippie:

I was able to get Christmas 2008 but not through New Years. You are correct get reservations is getting harder and harder.

I've been calling everyday (except yesterday)since the middle of Aug. to get Jan. 09. Wouldnt you know the one day I missed they released them!:lmao: Oh well......at least we are in....now the chess game begins to get it switched to preferred.

I was able to get preferred. This might be why I can't get the dates through New Years.

I'm wondering how Disney will monitor this, and see if there are lots of cancellations throughout the year, especially during more peak times. I think people are just reserving way in advance, without actually "planning" a trip. All they have to do is pay the one night, and then if they decide to cancel, no big deal.

However, in the end run that would hurt Disney, because people would become increasingly frustrated with the lack of availability at the Fort. This would eventually lead to people think of alternate destinations (blasphemy!! :P).

One thing they could do is start to require more of a deposit in advance, as much as none of us (and definitely not I) would like that. This would at least keep some of the "Let's just book 2 weeks for the heck of it next year" crowd at bay.

How do other resort destinations handle reservations? Since 90% of my vacation time is spent at WDW I have no clue. Granted I understand anywhere you book a vacation package it typically has to be paid in full some point before the trip. I'm talking about room only reservations. I'd hate to have to pay more than a deposit.

I've never held a reservation for a "maybe" trip. Usually what happens to me is at the last minute I want to add more days to my stay:goodvibes

Since the campsites for peak times appear to be entered into the system later and in stages seems to be Disneys way of working around everything being gobbled up early by over planners. The days of planning a 2 wk vacation at FW during peak season at the last minute is gone forever.

Depends on how and where you reserve a room. For instance, if you book through an online site like Travelocity, you have to pay the full price up front. Other hotels might only charge a night, or the full price, it varies.
