Dec 04 2005 Am I alone on this ship

Any speculation out there that since it's the Mousefest cruise there might be fewer families with younger children going? Just curious :)

Hi, FFerret. It's me again, Ray. I think that I can answer your question.

I went on my very first cruise last year, and it was a Disney Wonder cruise.

I went by myself, but I would probably never have gone by myself until Deb Wills of www.AllEarsNet.com said that many people go solo, so I didn't feel so bad.

Especially, since I wanted to see Deb and many of the other Disney book authors and Disney web founders.

I did see a lot of adults, but my stateroom was #6521 and it was in the forward section, so I only saw mostly adults around the adult pool above me.

But there were a lot of families there.

The only time that I new anyone was their solo was at my dinner table, or those that I had meet on the forums before going on the cruise.

There were many couples, too.

There were supposed to be a lot of Mousefesters there, but I didn't know many of them.

I think that is why it is nice to get to know each other like this before going.

If my stateroom was not forward, and below the adult pool, and on the opposite end of the children's pools and restaurants, then I would probalbly see more kids than adults.

I love seeing those children all dressed up waiting to see their favorite characters around the lobby christmas tree.

If you have any questions about my last years experinces from the December, 2004 cruise, please, just ask away.

Sincerely, Ray :)

Ok--I'm sooooooo embarrassed--I'm actually LEAVING the Wonder on the fourth (mine starts Dec 1st--we're on the four day cruise, y'all get the four night cruise!)

Hey, I'm a natural blonde, what can I say!

I'll try and keep 6560 nice and tidy :)

Oh my goodness, I should have read all of the posts before I started posting...lol.

I wish that you were going with us.

Hi, LucEeyore. My name is Ray.

I found your thread with a search and posted on it too.

I look forward to meeting you.

I'll be doing a land/see package, too, at the POR/Wonder.

Please come and join us posting and let us share our experiences.

Sincerely, Ray.

I'm on this one!! We're really excited. When I booked with my TA, she mentioned that she could get me a 'group rate' for December 4th. I hadn't been paying attention to my AllEars newsletters, apparently, because I didn't about it being Mousefest. It wasn't until we talked about it later that she said I was being booked with the Mousefest group -- heeheeeee.

DH and I are going on our first vacation since our twins were born. The boys just turned one, so they'll be a bit easier on the Grandparents while we're gone...I hope. We can't believe we're getting to go!! We're celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary.

I'm so glad to see that other folks are on this one. I was beginning to wonder if I'd see a thread...

Looking forward to getting to know y'all...

Hi, smatterchu. My name is Ray.

I am so glad to see that you are going on the cruise.

The ship looks so wonderful all decorated with the huge christmas tree in the lobby.

Please come back and post with us and we can all get to know each other before the cruise and share experiences.

Sincerely, Ray :)

What is the mousefest group? I will have a family of 4 on this cruise. Gregg

Hi, Gregg. My name is Ray.

Here is a link to learn more about Mousefest at www.mousefest.org .

There are many Disney book authors and Disney Web Founders that got together to let all of there fans come together at WDW and DCL to meet them and each other.

Deb Wills is web founder of the wonderful www.AllEarsNet.com with all the information that you can imagine.

Deb has info on flying and transportation and traveling with children and resort pictures and ticket information.

Deb Wills is also now an author of a brand new WDW book on Special Needs.

She also has a yahoo WDW forum.

Jennifer and Dave Marx have written several WDW books and have a forum at www.PassPorter.com .

The Marx's have a great Disney Cruise Line book that tells you everything you need to know about the Wonder and Magic and port of call.

And Dr. Steven Barrett has written many WDW books, but I really like his Hidden Mickey's book and he has a WDW website at www.HiddenMickeyGuide.com .

All of these author will be on board and have meets open to everyone.

Before you found Belles thread, I started a thread yesterday and listed the 10 different meets that will be on board and open to all.

There will be a stateroom door contest where people will decorate their door with pictures and stuff.

I'm not very computer savy with pictures and all. But I am going to try and put some pictures together and try an make a circle around the round stateroom door number. It's about 7-1/2 inches in diameter. Then I was going to use two other larger pictures and make Mickey Ears to place on top.

Now if I could figure how to manipulate my pictures in size to make a Mickey's head.

I was going to use Home Depot's Disney Paint sample mickey heads to make some decorations too.

There are some graphics that can be used that say Mousefest too.

I was thinking about making a magnetic door sign.

I put together a lot of DISer's suggestions at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=925792 , but I just can't seem to get it to work with my WebTV. If you would like to join the contest or help me.

Then there is sail away meet, a christmas tree meet, a Nassau walking tour led by Dave Marx of Passport.com, several meets with the WDW authors and web founders, a trivia meet, and a Hidden Mickeys meet by the author Dr. Steven Barrett.

And everyone is welcome. Many families and couples and a few solo adults like me will be there.

I hope that this helps.

Sincerely, Ray :)

Hi Ray,
Wow I had given up on this thread. And now it is active again. Thanks for being so enthusiastic about Mousefest and getting Dis people together during this time. This is my DH and my first cruise, first mousefest so we are a little overwhelmed with all that goes on. We are planning to go to some meets but still tryin to work out details. Definately will see you at the Golden Carrousel and of course on the ship. Will touch base again.

Hi, Ruth. I look forward to seeing you. And this is a vacation from stress and meetings. My goal is to relax and go with the flow, even though I make all of these plans...lol.

Ray :)

Good to know that a few more people are going to be on the Wonder 12/4
Hope to meet some of you there. I can tell you that I am one DISer that will not be caught in lime green (painted lime green one summer as a job-haven't liked the color since.)
The documents came Friday!!!

I know this is a mousefest cruise but are there any kids DS 7/DD 11 coming on the ship? If so, maybe the kids could e-mail before hitting the clubs. Gregg.

Does everyone have documents yet? We do and are so excited. Hope to meet many of you in 8 days. I hope you all had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving and get everything done between now and next week. I am cleaning and decorating for Christmas and looking for my passport which I saw a week ago.
Have a great week.
