Debt Dumpers - 2016

UGH!!! Fingers crossed that you're termite free. Is there anything they can do to help repel them?
I don't know. I have Terminex coming tomorrow and Orkin on Monday. I think the best thing to do is inspect first and they could likely put down a barrier. Ugh..always something, right? At least the inspections are free...

Is that car insurance bill just for your one car?
I was hoping to do a vacation this year but decided against it to pay off the car faster. Maybe I'll get a couple day trips in to see something. It's been probably 5 years since I've been on vacation! Maybe longer!!

I love day trips. I guess I am fortunate that Niagara Falls is such a short drive for me,,it is my get away for a day place. Sometimes a trip to my local hairdresser and a picnic in the Park can be a special day trip for me. Take time for you and plan a special day Hon.

We LOVED Dory!! Secret life of pets is also wonderful!

Dory was great!
I somehow wish they had added more music to the movie in some way.
The cost of the food at the movies is just ridiculous,,,$25.00
1 hot dog and nachos
1 regular pop
1 popcorn
1 bottle of water:sad2::sad2::sad2:

I used to take a bag filled with home bought and dollar store treats into the movie theatre when my kids were young,,guess I forgot that with my granddaughter.

Termites have been detected. First quote is $900. Will get second quote on Monday.

so I have started working on 2017 budget and I can say it's looking up. More money and a few less bills means things won't be so tight.

Which its not terrible now just not much wiggle room.
This past week we have done badly with eating out :( but DH is back to night shifts I haven't gotten groceries yet and so it's been kinda a scramble to find cheap/easy eats with a cranky toddler (thank you new teeth) and last night we didn't have water either whole system outage until about 9pm.

So tonight I plan on cooking a frozen pizza I have on standby turning on the Olympics so maybe the music will entertain DD so I can clean/meal plan good. I plan on trying to grocery shop tomorrow afternoon or Sunday at the latest when I can go solo.

A few good things though-credit card balance from 2 pricey car repairs is now less than $900. And we don't have a lot of money to throw extra at but it will be paid off in October. I owe $122 to dentist for some fillings I had at the end of June but that will be paid next week.

We had a local kids consignment sale this week. I shopped and got some great deals for $70 including an easel for DD Christmas gift so that was a major score it's normally $60 new got for $20 already assembled to boot! I also sold items in the sale and whatever I make with cover the cost of DD birthday party coming up. If it's more than I need since I've already got her gifts then the extra will go into our Disney fund.

Yes they are in the mulch in the front yard. Terminix quoted $900. Let's see what Orkin says..
In other news, I've been waiting since 8am for the window installers to show. They just pulled up at 3:00..needless to say I am furious. Wasted a whole day waiting around for them. Called out of work and everything! The quality of their work is good, though. But man, so unprofessional... To add insult to injury, no one called to advise me.. I literally had to chase them down to get any updates. They know we have to leave at 5 to get to DD' s birthday..needless to say I won't be signing anything saying my experience was satisfactory!

Windows are done and they look wonderful! Wow, it totally changed the look of our house. We are very pleased! Other than the delay, the installers were very good. DH wants to get the termite stuff remedied before we leave for Disney. Our neighbor has them pretty bad..she doesn't keep up her property so they are feeding like crazy on her old rotting fence. They are in the mulch in the front of our house which could be a problem down the road. The baits would kill them and create a perimeter around our structure. Depending on what quote we get from Orkin, that would be another grand we add to our debt. Home maintenance is expensive but worth it, I guess. Hope everyone else is dumping debt.

Glad you like the new windows despite the bumpy start. Home maintenance is expensive, but definitely worth it to stave off bigger problems down the road. Hopefully the new quote comes in a bit lower so you can get things started. Keep us posted!

I make my kids (teens now, but even when they were younger) pay for their own movie snacks. Or they can bring something from the house. My 15 yr old usually doesn't get anything and my 13 yr old usually spends quite a bit on a popcorn, drink and candy combo.

Ugh, we had termites years ago and luckily only in the yard, not in the house. It was about $500 but this was at least 10 yrs ago.

Yes, no signs in the house, just in the yard in front of the house. How was your Niagara trip?

It was awesome. Loved the falls, loved Toronto. In Ottawa now and it's great too. On to Montreal next....
Don't even want to think about how much money we've spent but at least the Canadian dollar is in our favor, lol.
