The first part is controlling your spending. That is something to be proud of!!!

I actually have very little debt but have the full intention of being
DEBT FREE!!!! Can I get a woohoo?
I owe about 45 more payments on my house and then I will own it free and clear.
A kink in my chain is that I will HAVE to get another car this year - man I hate car payments.
but hey - yay us!![]()
woohoo!!Awesome on your debt AND your house! After I save for my house, I am going to keep that savings and buy a car cash out in 2.5 years. I hate car payments also!
Arghhhh... Both of our Visa card numbers were stolen and used fraudulently so they've been cancelled. Two cards but they both go to the same account. Which is now maxed out thanks to the fraud... Argh! I know we'll get that money back but it's a huge pain...
My stress level is through the roof today. We just had our Visa Debit card number stolen last month. Which means they cleaned out our bank account. We got the money back but it was really hard to budget around that...

We went to the bank today and got a lot done. Opened a separate savings account for a nest egg so we don't touch it, found out about 529s, and got things started to refinance our home equity loan down from 6% to 3.24. We have four and a half years left on it and will save $16/mo on payments and a little bit of interest over the term.

If you don't mind me asking, who are you refinancing with? We are thinking of doing the same thing.
We have everything with BB&T, so it's actually a "modification." We refi'd our first mortgage last year too.
I made a $1000 payment to my credit card today - I really wanted to pay it all off ($1900 total balance) but I have this possibly-irrational fear of my checking account getting below a certain level. I'm hoping to be able to pay the rest of soon, because the next thing on my Snowball list is my first student loan, at last!![]()
awesome work everyone!
i am the same way about my checking account. i often realize after bills are paid i really have too much extra in it. i used to always want to have a $2000 balance but realized it was way high, so i compromised with myself and said around $1300-$1400. i really don't know how people function with just a few dollars in it, that would make me so nervous.
