Deb's (solar) - Babysteps to Big Changes

thanks :)

I was like...HEY! I recognize that name :thumbsup2

ps- just did 2 miles

I am holding steady at a 25 pound loss, and i'm okay with that. I did a 4 mile run on Wed, and have two shorter runs this week.

Not much new to report, just working the plan one moment at a time. I'm getting good at working with menus when i'm out...went to Red Lobster yesterday and they didn't have a regular salad option that appealed to me, so i settled for plain grilled shrimp and chicken with broccoli...and only had 1/3 of the chicken so i didn't overdo the calories -- was happy with that, and happy to adjust as i go.

Usually i rely on a salad, but this time I played around with my options and found something workable. I enjoyed it very much, and realize it's not the restaurants menu - it's ME. I'm the one who has to make good choices while i'm out, no matter what.

I was happy to see the scale moved again. I'm now at 26 pounds lost.

Feeling icky today though - picked up another cold, so hoping it doesn't impact my ability to run. I may have to walk in place of run, and I'm not thrilled with that. Either way, I need to get some movement in - so we'll see how I hold up. I did do my 2 miles Friday night

I'll just take it as it comes. If i think too much about it, it's going to drive me crazy....

Congrats on the loss! Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well.

Man, I'm so congested...yuck. I'm not sure how my exercise will go today, but I'm going to wait for the meds to kick in and see if it helps clear me enough to at least walk my scheduled training today...

I was pleasantly surprised to see the scale moved again. I've maintained my program through this, and kept away from the holiday goodies that found their way to my house. DH is loving the yummies, but I'm keeping my distance and trying to keep my eyes on the goal....

My reward? Down another pound...total loss 27 pounds. :thumbsup2

Way to go, Deb!!!:cheer2: You are doing such a great job on staying focused on your goals! Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

I hope you start feeling better soon. More get well :wizard::wizard: on the way!

One pound at a time....one step at a time....one meal at a time...

It makes things feel possible. When I stop and look at the big picture, it can feel downright overwhelming, but just looking at a few pounds at a time, maybe one or two - I go - "I CAN DO THAT!"

My scale has been kind this week. It's allowed me to bump from the 230's to the 220's..which felt big.

Just going to keep my head down, focus and keep moving one day at a time.

Thanks for the continued encouragement. I had a run scheduled for Christmas Day....so I did it. Imagine that?!!!

I didn't use an excuse like a holiday to not move...that's pretty cool to me. Inside of myself, I just knew it was a run day, so I ran. :woohoo:

Hope everyone had a lovely holiday.

That's wonderful!

My weight is holding steady right now. I'm fine with that - and just taking things as they come. I have a run scheduled for tomorrow (2.5 miles), and my big run on Wednesday jumps to 5 miles. I'm nervous about that - since the longest so far was 4 miles and THAT was hard! I'm just going to do the best that I'm able and see where it takes me...

...and I'm going to trust my training.

As for weight loss...my body seems to shift, stop, shift, stop...so i'm thinking next week I'll see a loss, since this week things stayed pretty consistent. I guess time will tell.

Holding steady during the holidays is an accomplishment! As you said, one pound at a time...one meal at a time.

That 5 mile run will probably help up your weight loss! I do hope so. 5 miles is no small feat!
