Debra's Revived Double Stroller Swap ***FULL***

Debra,
No hard feelings AT ALL!

Yes, I would be willing to attach the new seat. We are staying off property in a WH condo, so I would have to have the seat sent to my house and I would carry it down (we're driving, and it shouldn't take up much space).

Like I said before, a ripped stroller is better than paying disney prices to rent one, and if you could see my strollers after 4 kids, you'd know my standards are pretty low for the damage I'll tolerate in a stroller!:rotfl:

My main concern is what would happen if we don't fill up the big gap in January... hopefully some people will recognize the DEAL that using the stroller free will be for them!! :thumbsup2

Thanks again, Debra, for all you've done for the swap!!:goodvibes

Hi there! I am still reading this thread, and see the issue with the rip, but I'm thinking of putting my hat in for Dec. 14-24 (or there abouts). Are those dates still available? We will be at POP. Thanks.

I am possibly going in January and would love not to bring my own stroller 1200 miles from home. Is it still available? Where would it need to be picked up from, and where would I need to leave it when I'm done?

OT: someone told us that they still leave up the Christmas lights in January. Does anyone know how long they do this?

TSNCS,
You are the next to go, could you please take a picture of the tear and text it to me on my phone? If yes, then I will PM you with my phone number.
I will take a picture. I can sew pretty well, Maybe if I take some type of patch and sew it on, it can work until we get a replacement. IDK. Just PM me!

Tiffani
BTW, my cell is 304-741-1009. That way, you will have my number, too.

I have a quick question...I found this thread and jumped for joy...the question is.... Does this stroller fold up enough to be taken on the Disney buses without causing a major fuss? I was looking at buying 2 decent umbrella strollers and buying the prince lionheart connectors...but if this stroller folds down enough to get on and off the buses without being a major hassle then this would save me a pretty penny.

I'll be at Disney 2/1-2/8 staying at Pop. Any info available will be appreciated...I'm willing to put the new seat cover on if it ends up taking until 2/1.

I am hoping you can help me please! My DD & DGS (1) are joining me at WDW (staying at Boardwalk Villas) and we are hoping to "borrow" a stroller from 12/17/08 - 12/20/08 (checkout date). How does it work?

Is this where I put my request in? I've never done this before so hopefully you can help :worship: If you can help, please pm me and I'll give you my phone number and whatever else you need. I'm renting points for a Boardwalk 1-bedroom villa (boardwalk view - woohoo!).

Kibbycat,
What dates are you interested in for Jan?

Ofhs93,
I have the stroller the week before you need it and would be glad to leave it at POP.
It does fold up, but is bulky in that double-jogger sort of way.

WendyGrace,
As far as I know those dates are available if they're not posted on page one... hopefully Debra will be able to check the thread soon and can get you into that slot.

I just joined this thread and posted above but then realize this is a double stroller swap :confused3 I definitely don't need a double stroller so please disregard my post - sorry!!

.

Can anyone here post if they used this style stroller in conjunction with the Disney buses? I just want to make sure I don't put myself into a bad situation with transportation. No one likes to be that person hogging up all the space and being stared at all the time :confused3

I'm also interested in the stroller and had the same question. Wondered if it folded up enough to take on the Disney buses. We'll be at POP from 2/7-2/14, but would not need the stroller until 2/8, so it would probably work to trade with you late on the 7th or early on the 8th? Let me know and if the question is answered favorably, then maybe we could swap. I'll keep checking tomorrow.
Thanks!

Well..I found some specs on the InStep website. This stroller is 37x33x18.4 inches when folded.......I'm not sure how that would work on the bus as this is my 1st trip to WDW since I was 7 :) I REALLY wish I could make this work...otherwise I'm going to be going the 2 umbrella stroller and prince lionheart connector route. That will set me back about $90....not the end of the world...but I would certainly rather spend that money in other ways.

Okay I have the stroller from the 25th of Dec - 3rd of Jan following xrayvin and I would prefer not to have anyone in between us as to reduce the wear and tear on the stroller before I get it. I have already cleared with my resort and they will hold it for the 10 days between our stays.

Wendygrace~Thank you for your interest in the stroller, however, the open swap dates do not start until Jan 4, 2009. I hope you will be able to find another stroller swap and you have a great trip!

I am not the person that is keeping the dates for the stroller swap. Debra I believe is that person. I just knew that it is not available until Jan.:lovestruc

I also wanted to let the others know that there are several of us (myself included) that are planning on using the stroller on the buses. I believe the stroller will not be the easiest thing to get on the bus but it is doable. Here is a quote from Parith (she used the buses)

Hey all, long time no type . We had a WONDERFUL trip! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the stroller and saving all those Disney Dollars. Honestly, the stroller is a little heavy and awkward getting on and off the buses; however, it pushes like a dream. I found that if you ask the driver to open the back doors and just lay it in the exit there it works the best. DO NOT try to carry this thing through a full bus. I was traveling with just the two kids and we handled it without any major issues. One time I did get caught in the back doors though. The bus driver had opened the back to allow me to put the stroller in and then he shut them before I had time to get out of the door. I got pinned in between the stroller and the doors resulting in a small bruise and a little embarassment. Unfortunately it also caused a small bit of damage to the stroller. Nothing major, just a little tear right between the seats. I didn't even notice it until the kids pointed it out. If the next person going is any good at sewing a small needle and thread would prevent any further damage. I did point it out to Faindrops when she and I swapped. If anybody has any other questions feel free to ask. Thanks everyone for this great swap and happy trips to you all.

I hope we get those gaps filled for our Jan and March swappers!:cool1:

I am so sorry to hear that. Oh well. I guess we'll take our umbrella's. Have a magical trip!

But while all those people are staring, you can be thinking about all the money you saved using the swap ;)

Seriously though, we didn't use it on the buses as we had rented a car. The biggest issue we had was getting it onto the trams to ride to the park (need to get in the front seat of tram car). My DH mostly chose to walk the stroller to the gate and I took the kids on the tram, or 1 of them rode while he pushed, and to be honest, most of the time he was at the gate well before the tram

Sorry WendyGrace - I put December down by mistake. Hope you find a stroller and have a wonderful vacation.

KibbyCat, I need your dates Right now January is pretty open.

OFHS93, I got you down. Please coordinate with DisneyTigers and Suzie Q regarding pick-up and drop off.

SuzieQ, I got you down too. Please coordinate with OFHS93 regarding picking up and continue to check back here to see if someone fills the gap between you and Tisha_PA?

Tisha_Pa, I still have you down as unconfirmed. Are you still interested? Haven't heard from you in a while?

I used the stroller on the disney buses, the boats, trams, and monorail. The monorail is the easiest as you don't have to collapse it. Same with the boats. IN fact we left the kids in there and just pushed it right on.

The trams were a hassle for me and I opted to push the stroller from the car to the gate as a PP said. It was just easier especially with our stuff and sleeping babies. I too always beat my husband when he rode the tram and I walked.

The buses were a little inconvenient in that you do have to collapse it. It was easy working with my husband as I got all the kids and he got the stroller. But even with the inconvenience I thought it was better than making all the kids walk (or be carried) from the room to the bus stop, and again from the bus stop to the gate.

No one stared at us (or maybe they did and I just didn't notice). Lots of people carry strollers or large packages on the buses.

The most inconvenient means of transportation actually wound up being my van. I have a 12 passenger and had all the seats in. It is good for hauling people but not cargo. There is about 2 feet from the back seat to the door so the stroller had to stand straight up while I closed the back door. After the first day of driving we just used Disney transportation as we found it easier to handle the stroller.

Hope this info helps.
