Last year when we were getting ready to complete on onboard information it seems I read a post about using a debit card vs a CC on your shipboard account. Now I am searching and I can't find anything. Can anyone refresh my memory about the pro's and con's of using a debit or cc on your account?

As far as I'm aware, DCL doesn't handle debit cards any differently than credit cards. They do not do any authorization ahead of time. When it's time to charge your card, they charge your card for the exact amount. They even will break it up to a certain extent (once you get over a certain amount on on your shipboard account, they will go out and charge your card).

Some debit cards have a daily maximum set by the bank, so you might want to check on that. Credit cards also tend to have better protections for things that go wrong. Otherwise, it all spends the same.
