I want my kids to have some money to use while on vacation. We have a Southern Cal. Pass and thought maybe a reloading debit card would be great. They could use them at all the parks we are visiting, right? I was also wondering if anyone has recently stayed at the Paradise Pier Hotel? Pool is apparently closed until the 21st of October, the day before we leave to go home :sad2:. Wondering if you have heard anything regarding the rehab going on (is it really taking that long or, fingers crossed, it's closer to being done than they originally thought)? Or was it much of a hassle to go to either DH or GCH to use their pools?

I've never found reloadable debit cards to be that convenient. My usual thing is to buy a gift card but that's difficult since you're going to dofferent places.

We have stayed when the pool was closed. It was fine. Going to DLH (the pool made available to us; it was not whichever we chose) was fine.

I've been wondering about the PPH rehab also. A month or so ago it said it would be completed in early October and now I see the date has been pushed back.

We didn't feel like going to the DLH to use their pools was too big of a hassle with older kids. We took clothes to change into and used the pool bathrooms afterwards to put on dry clothes. The walk isn't bad and the DLH pools are nicer than the PPH pool so you are staying at a cheaper rate and getting use of a nicer amenity. And when/if the PPH pool opens up you will have a second pool area and slide to explore.

The DLH is an easy walk from the back of the PP and though it may be a bit of a hassle, the pool at the DH is so much more fun, in our opinion. So enjoy!

Those reloadable debit cards can be tricky. A lot of them charge a fee. I got my son one for Christmas with 50 bucks on it and by the time we went to use it it was down to 29 dollars!
