Debit card and cash stolen from ASM

I am so sorry this happened to you. I guess it can be hard to remember that just because you feel the "Magic" of disney, there are those employees who dont. I really dont know how people live with themselves after doing something like that.

PLEASE, DO NOT leave anything of value out in a hotel room. Use the wall safe. It'll deter anyone who goes in looking to pick up stuff that's left in an accessible place. To get in the safe they'll either have to have a key or pry the safe open.

That is one reason why I like the DVC, no one comes into your room every day to clean.

They're not supposed to, but staff can still get into the rooms. They came into my room at OKW daily last year to leave notices with updates on Hurricane Frances. It's still a good idea to lock up money and jewelry and cameras and other valuables.

My son had $80 stolen from our room at the Boardwalk Inn. Pretty sure it was the housekeeper. My son, who is 10 years old, thought he was hiding it by putting it under the alarm clock! (I was unaware he was hiding his money there!) He was heartbroken because he saved up his money to buy junk.
He learned an $80 lesson, don't leave cash in the room and don't be so trusting. And if you do leave money in the room, wrap it up in some dirty underwear! That's the last place a housekeeper would want to dig around for money.

BTW, we always tip our Mousekeepers $5/day so I don't think she should have been disgruntled. I did not tell them at the front desk.
