We are going to disney feb 6-13 2011 and have booked chef mickey dinner. hollywood and vine lunch. crystal palace dinner. Ohana dinner, wewent to all of these last year and loved them. O and garden grill that we will be trying. we need to find 3 more sit down meals that are kid friendly prefably buffets becuase my kids are loud and can get cranky. we were looking at the princess story book dinner at norway but are not to impressed with the food. we arent into catfish. and i am wondering if it is not gonna be our style. we didnt like like 1900 park fair and dont like breakfasts. and the royal table I am not to impressed with the food selection but my girls would probably love it. i am wondering if i should swing that becuase our last day there we plan on heading out in am and not staying for a sit down meal. suggestions. please.

For girls, its wonderful. I went for breakfast. My DD4 got an 8x10 pic with Belle as soon as we entered. 4 or 5 more princesses came to out able to visit/get pics/autographs. The restaurant itself is nicely themed.

My kids just loved this place (daughter 2, son 4). The interaction with the princesses is wonderful. We had dinner there in May and July and have a reservation for dinner for our Oct trip. The menu didn't look all that great to me either, but I had the chicken dish and it was good. I really liked the cold buffet. My husband loves the food and now it is a must do for all our trips. We always get the dining plan and it's a good deal for us.

We took two 3 yr olds and a 4 year old girl and they LOVED it! The princesses are engaging and from what I recall they do serve the normal kid foods...

What makes it worth it is the character interaction. The picture with Belle is great, many princesses are there. The food? Not impressive. We did lunch though so I'm not sure, maybe dinner is better. It was VERY loud there, so I didn't worry much about my loud children, another plus.

cold buffet? is the photo when they first walk included?

The photo is completely free and comes in a nice keepsake folder - this adds to the value of the meal (especially if you're using the DDP), since most meals that take your picture beforehand charge extra for it.

At Akershus everyone chooses an entree, like at any regular non-buffet TS restaurant, but then there is a cold buffet that you can eat from as well (which is good if you think your kids may be getting antsy/hungry before the food arrives). It has things like cheese, crackers, cold meats, salads, etc. Then there is a plated dessert for the table.

Are the prices of drinks including in the price of the buffet or do you have to pay extra for the drinks?

We went for breakfast this July and the princess interaction was great. The picture with Belle as a souvenir was great, too. But the food was not very good at all. I am glad we went once but we will return to the Crystal Palace buffet breakfast with Winnie the Pooh. The buffet is wonderful and so is the character interaction!
