Debating to change park plans?

Hey Everyone...

We arrive at the Contemporary Nov 29th and leave Dec 8th. I already was aware of the taping of the Christmas parade on Nov 30th and Dec 1st. I had planned to go to MK on Sat. even though the taping is taking place. After reading on the boards....alot of people said that the attractions are less busy cause everyone wants a glimpse of the parade. After reading the most recent post about the parade on the site (not one the boards, the site itself)...I'm debating if it's a good idea or not to go on that day. It says some attractions might be closed too? Anyone that has been before....could you let me know your experience. The park is open til midnight that day. I also figured if it was that bad we can go to another park if we really had to. Any advice would be appreciated....thanks!

My memory is rather spotty on our experience from three years ago. We got to MK early that day, probably at opening. At that point, no taping was going on at the time and we were able to move past the parade watchers by using what remained of the sidewalk behind them. We then moved into Tomorrowland. The rides were not as crowded. I think we took advantage of Main Street being logjammed because of the parade taping, and just toured the park avoiding the Castle Hub and Main Street areas. At one point, I recall seeing a group or float perform and stop and perform again, but I can't remember if that was when we first entered or later. When we were sure taping was done for the day and crowds dispersed, we then left the park.

We often do MK that way. Enter the park at opening and stay till it starts feeling crowded.

I'd say try it but have a back up plan ready in case it becomes more crowded than you'd like.

I would just go to MK early then leave and park hop.

Can someone tell me approximately what time they start filming the parade. We have an ADR at CP on the morning of 1 December and not being familiar with the park (and being a group of 11) want to make sure I allow enough time to find the restaurant without getting stuck in a crowd.

From what it's been said,manuvering around Main Street is a nightmare, they will start taping from 8am until maybe 2 or 3. It depends on how it goes. Give yourself plenty of time to get to your ADR. Look online at the map and know where everything is, I've heard they move the crowds that are not there for the taping around the back.
