Debating on 2 rooms...

I booked a deluxe family verandah for Alaska !!! Family of five. We have stayed in this room before and love it... However we were trying to see how much it would be to have two rooms with one being ocean view verandah and one inside but on the same deck? Online is giving us rooms on different floors? Thanks and if u have opinions that would be great... 2 adults 3 kids (9,11,14)

We just did similar to this for a 7 day Caribbean cruise. It turned out the two rooms were just a hair pricier, but for the space it was worth it. (For us we had 2 verandah and one inside room and it came to $1000 more for those three rooms than for 2 family deluxe rooms)

The older the kids get the more it is worth two rooms! It will be a touch pricier since DCL give a "discount" for the 3 person and beyond. So if our family of 4 get two rooms then all of us are at the higher rate of the first two per room. I'm not sure how kids are affected with the pricing but with my teens it really doesn't matter. The space is well worth it though we do it as two adjoining room with balconies we can join as well.

Good to know as we are a family of 5 also and have 3 growing boys...I know eventually the 2 cabins will be much better for us!

we went with the family deluxe verandah category 4.... Couldn't figure out how to get two rooms of difference categories near each other online and didn't want to be on hold all day....

In case you feel motivated to make a change....we love having the inside stateroom across the hall, and it has actually worked out to save us money! Maybe just give DCL a call later today (I got through in ten minutes yesterday around 5pm PST) and they can pull up the room options for you. My kids ages are almost exact ages to yours and they loved having their own space across the hall.
