Death Penalty...

Is it moral to let a murderer or a rapist live with the chance of escape? There is NO inescapeable prison. and life is long. They'll have the time to come up with a way out. I could sleep with a smile on my face at night if every murderer was executed right now. I would have no problems with it. and if every rapist was castrated I'd feel a whole lot safer too.

Cruel and unusual punishment is fine in my opinion, for cruel and unusual crimes.

I think that the death penalty is a little useless, and do see it as an easy way out. I would take the life in prison a little bit further, and put them in a dark room, with food given through a flap. At least no waste on electricity. Would that be considered inhumane? No contact.

Im for it I think if someone is crazy enough to kill someone else they should not be able to walk the earth..

I noticed most everyone is saying 'killed someone' as why someone would be given the death penalty, myself being one of them in a previous post. It's true that that is why most are killed. I have also heard rape a few times being casterated. Besides a murder, is there anything else worth the death penalty, to those who agree with the penalty, in your opinion?

I am against it. I think that someone who did something like that deserves to sit and pay for what they did in jail for the rest of their lives, not just take the easy way out. If I had to choose, I would choose the one that ends it fastest.

Of course, while you and I work our tails off paying for them to eat their three meals a day and enjoy the daily prison activities.....

Which is why I point out my previous post. But seriously, would we get slammed by the UN for inhumane activites such as being kept up in a dark hole for 50 years?

there are actually very few americans who would even go for that. Personally, I think its an okay idea. I'm all for darkness and bread and water. But if the person is already mentally unstable, they could become dangerous.

I agree with that in some ways, but other sometimes these people are literally crazy. I mean I agree the ones who claim insanity falsly that is just so wrong. But what about the people who are literally insane, special needs and things like that. Honestly, I understand that most killers are just cruel and freaky, but some are just really well, out there. JHMO. But now people are making good points in the death penalty, I am still not all for it, but not totally against it either.

First of all, I wouldn't do anything to get the death penalty,I"m a good girl Hmm..I think I'd kill myself, before they could get ahold of me. I'd change my name, dye my hair, etc. And hmm.. Umm.. I HATE shots.. do NOT want to die with a shot. or anything really..umm.. I think the agony would kill me first..but I'd choose..proably the gas chamber..I guess... Oh gosh. Now I've got goosebumps, and I'm like shaking. I am WAYY too scared of death..

Oh, yeah, I DO NOT BELIEVE IN THE DEATH SENTENCE!! I hate it!! Hate it!! I mean, I understand COMPLETELY about why people would make it have to happen..but seriously,just put them into jail.. they may change..
