What exactly has the park staff going to do about these (2) individuals taking their own lives? If you know anyone that is having issues ask them to call 988 or call on their behalf.

This second unfortunate death is very likely tied to the copycat phenomenon. This has also been an issue at other locations like the DLR Parking Garage in California.

Wouldn’t knocking in a guest’s door and informing the em not to look outside just cause the opposite? I would totally be looking at the window. But this is terribly sad.

It happens whenever there is a highly publicized suicide, including high schools, colleges & landmarks like Niagara Falls.

There is NOTHING Disney can do to stop this short of removing all balconies and access to outside of building. That would not only cost a tremendous amount of money but seriously devalue their rooms, hotels and amenities.

AND if someone is determined to do it at Disney, they will find a place and way. It is not Disney's responsibility, sadly they just get hit with the bad news.

Exactly. There are a myriad of ways someone can do this without jumping. My brother killed himself using pills. We tried to get him help but he took all his prescription meds. How would Disney prevent this? Or any other horrible way someone could kill themselves. It’s a tragedy all around and sure, it would be “cool” if Disney (or anyone) could prevent this. The only thing they could possibly do is post something in the room with the number to the suicide hotline.
