I just heard on the news that someone jumped to his death from a balcony at the Disneyland Hotel.

I haven't heard anything else, and can't find it on the net.

How sad.:guilty:

That is so sad! My first thought was that I hope there were no children around when it happened.

What a shame and a sad story. With that being said does anyone think Disney will remove the balconys from the dl hotel?

Exactly. I feel great sorrow for that man and his family, the pain he was in that led him to that was obviously beyond comprehension. But I really wish he would have chosen a different way to go, given that hotel's typical clientale of families with kids.

So sad for him and all involved.

Tragedy. It's so sad to think of someone choosing that happy place to end it. I pray for comfort for his family!
And I hope the inevitable media hype doesn't over-run the place and ruin a lot of small kids' dream vacation. Too innocent and young to have to know about such a sad thing.

All the kids! Was my first though too. I hope they have blocked the scene from view and families are being directed elsewhere.

What a horrible place to kill yourself.

They said this is the third suicide at the DL hotel.

How sad for his family and what a shame he chose to do it where so many people could have seen it.

yeah tragic..and of all places the Disneyland Hotel
why there? -.- I feel bad for any kids, well ppl in general, who saw when that happened..and of course the guy's family and friends

How tragic! I agree, I certainly hope there weren't any children who witnessed it, that would be terribly traumatic for ANYONE to wotness, especially a young child.

How horrible!!! What in the world could make anyone take their life in the Happiest Place on Earth! What a sad thing to happen.....any day really, suicides just break my heart.

Suicide is awful and I feel for all who are affected; family, witnesses, cast members, public services, etc. And I feel for the perpetrator too as perhaps just one more good thing happening to him, no matter how trivial or small could possibly have prevented his terrible decision to end it.

That said, I can't help but feel that commiting suicide at a Disney resort is an incredibly selfish thing to do. You have to realize that your actions are going to inevitably traumatize many other people, young and old. Amazing how a destructive and self-loathing action like suicide could have such a narcissistic element to it.

I totally agree, I feel teribble for the family that he left behind. But come on All the thousands of kids that are there who knows seeing that could tarnish someone for life!

Oh dear! That is terrible. So I just did a search and he was staying on the 14th floor of the Wonder Tower (formally Bonita). I wonder which side he jumped on?

I don't want to know. I don't want to think about it and wonder the next time I stay there, kwim? I'd rather think about his soul going on to a better place, where he isn't in such pain.

My heart breaks for his loved ones, and for all the CMs, guests, and emergency responders who had to deal with this today. I hope they are all okay.
