Yeah I totally understand. We don't have to drink, but if the options for all the previous are mentioned, the options for drugs (legal like marijuana, if it were legalized, NOTTTTT the hard stuff) and alcohol should also be there.
Wouldn't the later depend on the CPS branch though? I mean I know it's what should happen, but there are always discrepancies with what should happen and what ends up happening. I've heard of CPS dropping the ball a few times, but I don't really kinow the whole story for those things.
yes, of course. there are bad social workers, just like there are in any other profession. luckily, when a child enters DCS, and someone is put on the case, they're supervised. and the supervisor is supervised, and that supervisor is supervised, and so on. if a red flag is raised, an investigation takes place, and if a dcs case manager did something wrong, not only could they lose their job, they could go to jail. its a much stronger system than it used to be. of course children are in foster care that probably shouldn't be, and there are children in homes that probably shouldn't be. the system isn't perfect, but its strong.
and honestly, for most social wokers, if a parent is supplying a child with alcohol, the child could be removed from the home. some people think the drinking age is stupid or silly, but its still a law, and it will remain a law until people take action to change it. just like you can't give your fifteen year old cigarettes or heroine, you can't give them alcohol. its illegal.
i guess thats the biggest issue that i have with underage drinking. its against the law.
