Dear Santa, I'd like a Disney Trip for Christmas! - TR started!

Trying to get things organized....

To Do List:
  1. Finish Itinerary
  2. Make Matching Tshirts
  3. Purchase a bag for the Parks
  4. Make a packing list
  5. Purchase MVMCP tickets
  6. Get a new coat!
  7. Find a bunny-sitter for Zelda
  8. Buy new suitcases
  9. FIND AIRFARE
:scared1:

That was just a quick brainstorm list..and I'm sure there is a TON I didnt think of.
:headache:

I started to make my little itinerary book that I want to take into the parks. I have the first few excel sheets done so far...its a start. I need to make a trip to walmart some time this week and look for a little book to put the sheets in.

Also I need to get tshirts from walmart. I've been completely obsessed with the Creative DISign boards lately and I got two DISigns made to put on shirts for DBF and I. The DISigners over there are WONDERFUL.

I've been searching for a good park bag and I think I'm going to get a Vera Bradley backpack. I love Vera B  And I'm also in need of a coat for this winter and I was considering get a northface Denali, but WHOOOA :scared1: is that expensive. But I need a new one. Maybe I'll find something cheap and similar?

A few months ago I found an awesome packing list...I think from mousesavers? I'll have to double check where exactly I found it. But I need to edit a little (I dont need all the kid/baby stuff) and start purchasing some little odds and ends that I might need.

And I need to start asking around to see if anyone would like to take care of my precious furbun. I use to make fun of bunny owners. People who love bunnies as much as people love dogs...until one odd day I decided to buy one. Now I'm one of those "bunny people" I love my bunny. :lovestruc

Here she is enjoying a nice day outside.

Any things you think I should add to my To Do list?

Next Post!

As for photopass, I thought it was so worth it, especially if you like to scrapbook! If you haven't checked it out already, you can find everything you need to know and a whole lot more about Photopass here:
http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disneysphotopass/
Once you upload your pictures, you can add all sorts of neat borders to your photos.

If you are worried about the cost, don't be afraid to ask the photopass photographer to take your picture with your camera! The ones we asked were more than happy to oblige. And, if you pre-pay for photopass and decide you didn't get your moneys worth with the pictures, you can get a refund.

I hope this helps, I'm really looking forward to the rest!

Welcome!
Thank you for the photopass information! :cool1: (After I get done with this response I'm going to check out that site some more!) :rotfl: I think I'm going to try PP for this trip because I've seen some AWESOME photo's...and I love, love, LOVE pictures! :lovestruc

Why didnt you enjoy Tony's? That is the only restaurant I havent heard anything about.

I booked Tony's on our first trip (back in 2007) since my family enjoys Italian food... figured we couldn't go wrong. The atmosphere is nice, but the food was just okay. We've definitely had better. I'm pretty sure I had the chicken parmigiana but the only thing from my meal I remember liking was the salad dressing, LOL! Not sure what DH had for his entree, but I do remember he really liked the soup he has for his appetizer (I think it was pumpkin).

With that being said, we haven't been back to Tony's since our first visit... so maybe the menu/food has gotten better in the last 3 years!

I looked at R&C menu before choosing them..that's what had me sold. DBF will enjoy it most because it's just something different.

Yes, the menu for R&C looks so good! I can't believe we haven't tried this one before. I'm already trying to decide between the Sunday Roast and the Guinness Stew!

Yes, I still have two more ADR's left. The reason they have been left open is because I dont have flights yet so I'm unsure of arrival and departure times. :confused3 I figured depending on when I find this information out, if I cant get anything we want, we can just use it for room service or something. Maybe get a pizza with those two credits.

You can always double-up on a table-service meal, too. Because you also have one quick-service meal for each night, too. So you could use QS meals for your arrival/departure days, and have a sit-down meal for breakfast and dinner one day. Just a thought!

I was actually just thinking about that earlier today...my only worry is that it will take up too much park time, because as much as I want to enjoy the restaurants and such, I also want to enjoy the parks. Then my next thought on the subject is WHERE?!?!? :rotfl: There are SO many places to choose from that all sound SO good! :confused3 I am open to suggestions! :thumbsup2 I would like to try hoop dee doo revue?? Any good??

Off to research more possible dining spots...... :surfweb:

Doubling up on TS meals one day is what we've done in the past... we schedule a late breakfast, that way we can skip lunch and have another sit-down meal for dinner.

Doing a dinner show is another option to use your credits! I've never been to HDDR but have heard good things about it.

We've done the same, big breakfast, quick snack in the middle of the day and a quick dinner when we have two credits to use. Works great for us!

:cheer2: YAY!!! for booking your ADR's! Glad you got all of them (except Le Cellier). They may have that blocked off right now bc of the CP packages. Keep trying to get in and then you can cancel Rose & Crown.

I'm considering going to Hoop dee doo revue one night that we dont have anything else...I think that looks like fun! :goodvibes

I think I might call sometime this week to see if that's whats going on or if they are just that full already.

Well on your AK day you have Tusker house at 8:05 and the park closes at 6pm. So you can do another TS either at a resort or if you wanted to try Hoop de Review (or whatever it is called) this would be a great night since you have to be out of the park.

Hi! :wave2:
Have you been to HDDR? I would love to try it but havent heard too much about it. :confused3

Hi Stephanie,
I followed your link over from my PTr. thank you for posting on it. I have to say that when I read you were going over Christmas I was in a panic for you. I have a fear of big crowds, but yay you were able to change your dates, even though I am sure you would have done just fine had you kept your original dates.

My first trip to Disney world was in April of 2006, we drove down from Pa. It was a 15 hour drive, I prefer flying, I have flown down every trip since then. I love to fly, it's not scary at all.

I have gone to MVMCP twice. It's great, I use all the time to catch the shows and parade and fireworks, it didn't leave me much time for rides, but I was there for the party ya know. The cookies are delectable and the cocoa is very chocolatey. I tried to consume enough to get back the fiftysome dollars I spent on the ticket. ;)

Make sure you get to see spectacle of lights at Hollywood studios, if your a cryer this will definitley bring on a few tears. Fanatasmic is a must.

Aniaml Kingdom, do not miss the finding Nemo stage show and Festical of the lion King.

Your ADR's look great, SciFi is a neat place. I love it in there.

I am also an avid scrapbooker, Disney sells some scrapbook stuff in their stores at the resorts and DTD but I get most of my stuff from AC Moore and Michaels. Scrapbooking Disney is such a great way to deal with the after Disney blues.

I will say take advantag of the past pass system, you will get so much extra done, if you can make rope drop then you should be able to get the majority of your wants in before noon.

Pecos Bill is a great QS place to eat at MK. And Flame Tree BBQ at Animal Kingdome is delicious. Toy Story Pizza planet at Hollywood studios has great personal pizzas and super fresh salads.

My biggest advice to you, (speaking from experience) your first time at Disney can be overwheling. Make sure you schedule some down time to just relax or even take a mid day nap at the resort. I enjoy Disney so much more when I am not trying to deal with my inner toddler melting down from over exhaustion.

My last trip to Disney world is in my link in my signature, you might catch a few extra tips in there.

congratulations on your first trip, this one will set the presidence for all future trips, you will learn what to do and what not to do.

Oh and also at Epcot, go into the inovations, they have so much interesting stuff in there, I always by passed it thinking it was just gonna be boring learn about the environment stuff, but it is sooooo not boring. And check out Sum of all thrills, you get to design your own roller coaster and then ride it in a similater, It feels so real, I got a little sick from my design.

If I had to say one great snack you have to try, it would be the dole whip at MK, you can't leave MK without trying one of those.

Hi

Thank you! :goodvibes And thank you for all the tips! :thumbsup2 I will have to write these things down! And I will need to check out your PTR as soon as I get the chance! I love december TR's! :santa:

Hi everyone! I havent undated in awhile, I know. SOOO busy! I am hoping to have an update sometime tomorrow or sunday...with pictures of what I've been up to of course! :thumbsup2

:santa:

Hello everyone, I am finally able to update after these very busy past couple weeks. I've tried to get on occasionally and check up on the PTR's I've been reading along with, but I barely had time to do that! One quick side note, I seem to have a lot of lurkers, which is fine but feel free to leave a comment! Join in! The more the merrier! :goodvibes

Now, what have I been doing? Where have I been? Well let me tell you!
Last friday I organized a trip to the zoo for the daycare I work for. So DBF, DBro, and myself went to the zoo! (With a bunch of preschoolers and other coworkers and adults!) When we first got their, they couldnt find my tickets! I prepurchased them and I was panicking! :scared1: These kids were going to be crushed if we couldnt get in this zoo!! Finally after fifteen minutes of standing off to the side while tons of people got tickets and entered the park, they came with all my tickets. phew! So we get in the zoo, and there seems to be the zoo version of photopass photographers lurking by the entrance, so we get a group photo in front of a fountain. (Not purchased) As for my own pictures, I forgot to charge my camera battery :guilty: (shame on me!) So these few phone pics of the zoo will have to do....:sad2:

And then this is my little "Refillable mug" that my precious brother bought me!

One last story from the zoo....while we were all sitting at these tables to eat our lunch (and by lunch I mean the three of us ate french fries because we couldnt afford anything else. And we SHARED the french fries!) these geese came RUNNING towards our table! Now there are signs everywhere that say DO NOT feed the birds but by the way these things were acting you knew no one follows that rule. I have a slight fear of birds...so once this thing came into few I was leaping out of my chair and running as far from those tables as possible. The kids who were with thought this was hysterical. They didnt seem to share my fear. :confused3

So that was a little bit of last week..now onto this week...

My family is a very outdoorsy family, so this year for a little trip, we went tubing down a river...which I must say is very, very fun! I will definitely be doing this again! PLEASE excuse any picture of myself I add. :rotfl: Floating down a river in the sun is not the most flattering of places to take pictures of yourself. But I wanted to try out the waterproof feature on one of my cameras!

037.jpg

it was so peaceful.

047.jpg

excuse the water spots!

045.jpg

DBF floated down the river with that shirt on this head the whole time...

This was very fun and we had children of all ages. My almost two year old cousin LOVED this. If you have kids who might enjoy this, I recommend it. So much fun. (just watch out for rocks!) :rotfl2:

Last but not least, I was digging through boxes of mine and found this!....

Cute, right? I forgot I had this! Well thats all for today...have a good holiday weekend everyone!

OH, and I dont know if I've mentioned this, but I purchased our MVMCP tickets! :santa: YAY!

Next Post!

I followed you over here from my PTR! I've been MIA so it took me awhile to get here! :lmao:

I am all caught up now. Everything looks great! I would absolutely LOVE to go to Disney at Christmas time. I will be anxiously awaiting your TR upon return.

Even though I have never been at Christmas time I too have heard the horror stories about the week between Christmas and New Years. The only time I have EVER been to WDW is during the crazy hot and busy summer months. I am excited to get the opportunity to experience Disney when it's a little cooler and less crowded.

I can't wait to read more! :goodvibes

P.S.- I love to scrapbook as well. I already have all sorts of Disney embellies! :rolleyes1

Looks like a fun time at the zoo and floating down the river!
Congrats on the MVMCP ticket purchase!! I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time there!

I've been following along as well! Kind of old, but I grew up in Pennsylvania and my grandparents once drove my sister and I to Florida. It wasn't that bad, but it was ages ago (I was in third grade) and I like driving. My boyfriend and I are considering driving out from Colorado for our December trip!

I love your rabbit! I always wanted a small pet like that, but we had cats and my mom hated rodents. So now my boyfriend and I have two cats and a hedgehog who can defend himself. :lmao:

The nurse at my mom's school got one before they became illegal in Pennsylvania and I used to visit her just to play with the hedgehog. Compared to our (Siamese, admittedly) cats, the hedgehog is refreshingly low maintenance!

Do a google image search for baby hedgehogs! It's what convinced my boyfriend that a hedgehog was different than a porcupine and a good pet.

just googled them....SOO cute! :lovestruc I dont think my bunny would be too fond of a hedgehog though. :rotfl2: And I didnt know they were illegal in PA! I didnt even know they were pets!
