"Dear Amy"

God didn't create gay people. Gay people created themselves. Since God is perfect, he's not going to make a mistake by mixing wires in our brain and making us like the same sex. It's the devil (Satan) who created gay people, not God.

O...k...so the "devil" "created" me then? WHAT THE HECK?!

In the bible, it says that God will NOT accept homosexuals into heaven.

Please...stop...you're making me want to cry...just stop posting...it's starting to hurt...

Hey, now! That's not right. Who are you to decide what's the right and wrong way to follow a religion? Jacen (apologies, I forgot your real name) has real faith and loves God, Jesus, and his religion. And you're going to tell him that he's not a "true Christian" because he doesn't act exactly the way you think Christians should?

That was a bit out of line, I think. :(

She's just saying that he's not one of those 4 percent.

Thank you.
It's not the end of the world now, but it might be in a few years.
The thing I never told you guys was Osteosarcoma has a HIGH HIGH HIGH rate of reoccurance. Most of them times, if it comes back, it can be a death sentence. But that's OT so we'll save that for another day.

Your welcome

I understand what Californiagurl is talking about....

And thank you, PigletGurl...

Are you kidding? Of course he'd be one of the kids to stand up for God! He has a wonderful faith- why should that be diminished because of one issue? I don't understand that. :worried:

Not sure if this has been said (haven't read all the pages in this thread) but I heard that the homosexuality in men, at least, is caused by a dominate trait in the female chromosome. Every male has an X and a Y - being "gay" is simply that men have an overpowering X chromosome that isn't as intense as causing physical differences, but enough to give them hormones that match more with the female than the male...thus causing the men to be more interested in other men than women. I'm not sure if this is the case or not, but like most of the people on this thread, I don't believe homosexuality is a choice. If that biological explanation is correct (which comes from a pretty valid source) I think it's a pretty fair argument to say that people are born gay if they are gay. I am not sure what they say for female homosexuals, but if there is a bio explanation for guys, I'm sure there is one for girls also. Just my two cents.

ETA: I just read some more posts on this page and I'd like to point out that no one on this earth is perfect...so to say imperfections are the work of the devil is saying every single one of us is a spawn of Satan. Homosexulality is not an imperfection. Also, I wouldn't be so quick with words - especially words that have no place for the DISboards. Please stay respectful of one another.

i'm a christian, yes in the bible it says that homosexuality is wrong, but if it really is then why did god create them? i could care less. you ARE born that way. you cant help it. and just because i dont think that it is wrong doesnt mean that i am not a true chrstian. i hate these threads, they always always always start a fight! just get over it, people ARE homosexuals, they ARE born that way, and they love the same way. OK?

seriously, this david is so screwed up though

I have a question to those who believe it's a choice...

Would you guys treat a person you've known for a long time (family member, best friend, etc.) differently if they announced they were gay?

Words couldn't be truer!

I have a question to those who believe it's a choice...

Would you guys treat a person you've known for a long time (family member, best friend, etc.) differently if they announced they were gay?

I can vouch for that. My dad is Roman Catholic, hard-core Republican, anti-gay, yadda yadda yadda.
His brother is Gay.
His only brother.

We don't see him much. Once his brother annouced he was gay, he pretty much lost all contact.
Add in the fact said brother has HIV (no, not from a partner, he had a hospital accident) and that kinda sent my dad over the edge.

Exactly...I mean, if your best, closest friend announced that they were gay, would you say "oh, you're going to HELL!" and dump them?

Or would you say, "I might not totally agree with your lifestyle, but if you're happy, hey, I'm there for ya."

Okay, as I'm reading more in this thread...I would like to just say...PLEASE don't take some of these posts personally. I've read some pretty ridiculous statements against homosexuality...that are, literally, ridiculous, lol. Don't read into them or let them bother you if they are. Opinions are opinions and they can intensify with certain controversal topics. This is one of them.

Also, I read somewhere on these pages about Christians not being really Christians if they support homosexuality. Oh my goodness, that's all I have to say to that. lol. There are different levels of this religion...some who worship in their way - those who believe in God, pray, and care for the things that matter most in that particular religion...and those that are extreme Christians and read every word in the Bible to every punctuation mark and live by those words exactly. I respect everyone's beliefs...As extreme Christianity is rare in the growing world...I would HOPE that people who consider themselves these people would also respect those who do NOT belong to this belief system...that means not bashing someone for believing that homosexuality is not a work of the devil.

I am Roman Catholic - grew up in a Catholic family, went to Church, and made my confirmation. However...I'm not going to discriminate against a group of people that live a different lifestyle than my own. I grew up being taught to accept everyone on Earth as God's children...so I will. I respect everyone unless they give me good enough reason not to and homosexuality isn't even close to reason not to. Discriminating and prejudging someone based on their attraction to the same gender...now there's a good reason.

I disagree. There are people that believe in god, the bible, and satan and still support gay people and think they will go to heaven.

Hi, I've read through this whole thread and have finally decided to voice my opinion. I agree mostly with the quote above. I'm not sure if they'll get to heaven, I'll never be sure untill i get to heaven and meet one there. I pesonally don't know anyone who is gay, but I support anyone who is and I'm a Christian. Just my opinion. :)
