Hi,

We want to stay three nights in the Royal Pacific in early May. The only deal I can find now is the 10% off if you stay three nights on the Universal website. I'm not a member of CAA/AAA. Is it likely that there will be deals over the next few months before May comes?

Others on hear will be able to help better than I on any other deals but keep in mind the 3 hotels on property at Universal are all deluxe/luxury hotels and will not be heavily discounted or have a really cheap rate. Disney (and off site for that matter) have various types of hotel from Value to Deluxe. Obviously if occupancy is high and the market is bearing the rates currently offered then no further discounts will be available, it will only be if occupancy is not where it needs to be will there be any further discounts.

You can always book at the 10% discount rate you see now and keep checking for a lower rate closer to your travel dates and wwitch to the new rate if you see a better deal.

Edited to add: I see some other posters have been able to get the Annual Passholder Rates for May. You might want to run the numbers to see if purchasing one annual park pass for someone in your group to get the APH rate at the hotel would get you a better discount on the room and save your overall.

Good advice I received: call the hotel directly and simply ask "do you have any promos for my stay?" If you have AAA or an AP ( you can tell a little white lie here) let them know that. The reservation agent can then give you the best deal available among the choices available.

If you book with whatever deal, keep checking back. Things can change overnight.

others here have given you good advise.
if 10% is the most you can get for a discount, it is better than paying rack rate.

many of us have stayed on site before and don't feel we are being gouged by the prices.

what price were you looking for in one of the onsite hotels?

the cheapest i have seen has been $129 a night + taxes.

weekends cost more than weekday nights at the hotels.
stay in the value season for the lowest rates.

We are booked for three nights in late May. At first I booked the same deal that you are looking at, but then changed it for the annual pass holder rate. That saved us about $200.00 and made it cheaper to buy the annual pass than regular tickets. All and all, it probably saved us $75.00, not counting all the additional perks you get as a pass holder. You may save more because we are going over Memorial weekend.
